  1. Me too... It's not exactly Bizzaro in the airtime department but I don't think this ride has a lack of airtime.
  2. I know the popular answer is Millennium Force but I love that coaster. After 10 years it's still my #1. That being said, I think the most overrated coaster at CP HAS to be Magnum XL 200. I know it was the first coaster to break the 200 foot barrier, the view from it is breathtaking but it's really rough and the airtime is more painful to me than enjoyable as I always get slammed into the lapbar (I know that's the idea... but that lapbar is hard as a rock). The coaster is okay, but even the boring Morgan hypers are better IMO for the simple fact that I find Magnum really, really rough. It's a decent coaster, but not one that I need to ride more than once every trip to CP... and I really only ride it because I feel like I have to to try to figure out what I'm apparently missing.
  3. Some more info on Skyride... apparently the Cables have been loosened so they can replace the bearings under the bullwheel (according to the users at Pointbuzz). It sounds like it will be down for an extended period of time.
  4. In the nobody cares but I'm still curious department... the Skyride has been down for almost 2 weeks now. What's up?
  5. Looking at the webcam, TTD looks to be open today.
  6. They've had a ladder set up in the station that you can see from the Pagoda cam for about 4 days now... I figured that meant they were going to fix it but they haven't yet. I wonder what's wrong with it. I think it's a real shame when that ride is down. It makes the atmosphere of the main midway to see all of those multi-colored cabins in the air. If it's closed, it looks like ugly power lines running straight down the middle of the midway.
  7. I've noticed that the Skyride has been down for at least a week as well. Not that it's a big-ticket ride... but it's pretty strange to see that.
  8. It's not Cedar Point's fault. If they asked the manufacturer if adding 7 seats was possible and they said yes, then it's the manufacturers fault. Then again, this isn't a big deal. Not only will they probably fix it, but if they just fill all of the seats it doesn't seem to cause problems (and they're having no trouble doing that). A lot of flat rides need to be balanced, this is not a big deal. If it was, I'm sure they wouldn't operate it.
  9. Not to go off topic but the Yankees don't own the lots, Central Parking does. And not go more off topic but Metallica is playing at Yankee Stadium later this year and parking for SPECIAL EVENTS is $70.00. Like I said, $20.00 to park is bullcrap, but at least in this area we're really, really used to bullcrap.
  10. It's a different part of the country too. Things are more expensive in the New York area. It sucks, but it's just the way it is. Parking at Yankee Stadium is $35.00 this year... $20 almost seems like a bargain. lol.
  11. Cedar Point posted a POV on their Facebook. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oQP7vmRh0Ow
  12. I'm no expert but I would assume by looking at the ride that those are LED lights. They DO burn out, but they have a ridiculously long life span. I'm not 100% sure who's LED lights they used on Windseeker (perhaps someone has more free time and cold look into that) but a company called MAXTRON who installs led lights on amusement rides advertises that their LED products can last for decades without burning out. I would think that this might be the company that was used and if not the life span of the bulbs is probably similar to the windseeker lights anyway. This is obviously from the manufacturer and since it's a new product the legitimacy of the claim is impossible to prove but I don't think the lights burning out is something that Cedar Point is concerned about in the near future.
  13. Here's a video of opening night. It's the only one I could find on youtube but it's actually pretty good.
  14. I'm going to get it for this but I really like the Intamin first gens. I've ridden the one at Magic Mountain (defunct), Great adventure (defunct) and Cedar Point (moved) and I loved all of them. I don't really care for the S&S rides. I rode Drop Zone (whatever it is now) at KI and really enjoyed it but the first gens feel like more of a true "free fall" experience. That being said, Big Shot in Las Vegas was the most terrifying shit that I've ever ridden but it's a shot tower and not a drop tower.
  15. I'd never heard of Skull Mountain but after checking it out on Youtube this is a shame, it's a pretty original ride that I wouldn't have expected at this park given it's reputation.
  16. That impulse is really under supported.
  17. It's a fun little ride but if it becomes a safety hazard I would think Cedar Point might remove it. I doubt it makes much sense to dump any real amount of money into it.
  18. Great job with this park, I really enjoyed reading through it.
  19. 1) Raptor 2) Alpengeist (The second half is really dull or it would have been #1) 3) Batman the Ride (Great Adventure and SFMM) 4) Talon 5) Great Bear Those are the only 6 that I have been on.
  20. It seems like everything is bad for you now. Every day on the news a story breaks about the health risks of something people have been doing for decades and never had a problem with before. Just go out, have fun and don't worry about it.
  21. Season Pass Processing at Six Flags Great Adventure back when everyone needed to get a new picture taken EVERY SINGLE year. We waited about 4 hours. lol As far as rides, Millennium Force back in 2001 (about 2 1/2 hours) but it was totally worth it.
  22. To my knowledge, this is the first video with riders.
  23. Or just go to the flash pass (that is what it's called this week right?) booth first. Then scroll down to "El Toro" a bunch of times and keep reserving it.
