From an enthusiast's perspective maybe but this isn't Six Flags. They're a family park and I think they're fine with what they have now. If you want a ride that's over the top intense I305 isn't too far away but that's really not what Busch Gardens is all about. They have big coasters but they're rides that still have mass appeal. In a park that's so heavily geared towards families I don't think an over-the-top intense ride is really what they need (though I wouldn't complain). I don't think it would be a terrible decision (Hershey is a family park and they built Skyrush) but they certainly don't need it.

I'm guessing it cost too much to repaint and touch up the queues so they just decided to remove it all. I blame the idiots who enjoy sticking gum everywhere and peeling the paint off the walls and railings. The teens that Six Flags attracts would rather destroy the queue than enjoy the themeing. But the theming was a bunch of random crap and graffiti everywhere. If they scratched their names into stuff it might only add to the theming and removing it won't help the gum issue anyway. I don't see how that theming cost much of anything to maintain since it's themed to something that WASN'T ever maintained. Then again if that kind of theming is so expensive hats off to them for all the money they must spend on theming at Six Flags America.

We criticize "the other park" for not spending money to buy a spare train, so why is KBF is any different? I completely agree with you here. Last year we went to Knotts on a really dead day in February and every coaster was a walk-on besides Silver Bullet which had a 20 minute wait (and 40 for the front). Silver Bullet and Xcelerator were only running one train. I don't understand why they don't have an extra train for Xcelerator but since the duration is so short it's not the end of the world when they run one train. On Silver Bullet they really need a third train. I would think on busier days this time of the year the lines would get unbearably long for that ride.

The "Pleasant/Unpleasant Surprise" Thread

It's nice to see that I'm not the only one that hates X2. The first drop is cool but after that it's just extremely rough and it makes it impossible to enjoy even though the concept and layout should make the ride awesome. -

What are some loud rides and coasters?

Batman and Robin: The Chiller was ridiculously loud when it was actually open. -

Magic Springs looks like a cool little park. X Coaster looks like a lot of fun. -

I wouldn't be surprised to see a little bit of airtime on this one. I'm in the minority here but I feel like the world can never have enough wingriders. -

I agree with this but completely understand why they're doing it from a maintenance standpoint. The good news for people that live near Delgrossos is that they're between Knoebels and Kennywood which are both living museums of rare flat rides. -

It's hard to tell but my only suggestion is that if possible you should plan on multiple days or make a last minute decision based on chance of precipitation. My experience is that if it so much as lightly drizzles every single coaster closes with the exception of the B&M's (Gatekeeper, Raptor and Mantis). This park has one of the dumbest rain policies of any park I've ever been to. -

They're raising a piece of track as we speak. Edit - Just missed it on the webcam. -

Another great TR. I'm really enjoying this thread, keep up the great work! -
This is a little long but it's really worth watching. It's very informative and is coming from someone who no longer has any ties to SeaWorld yet is still firmly on their side. Edit: By the way Trace Adkins just checked into rehab so that may be the true reason he's missing the concert and he took it as an opportunity to pacify the whale huggers.

I second this. The museum is huge and they have a lot of really cool stuff in there. Last time I was there they had an SR-71 Blackbird, a B2 Stealth bomber and the Bockscar (the plane that essentially ended World War II). I believe all of those are permanent exhibits in Dayton but you may want to double check that. It's a free museum but if you're a history buff you can easily spend a full day there. That place is top notch. -

856 miles without any turns / major landmarks or major changes of scenery must be absolutely brutal. I love driving as much as anyone but that's tough. Can't wait to see more of this! -
