Batman, Superman and Green Lantern (from the looks of it, I haven't ridden it because f**k that) are all running flawlessly this event. Whatever they're doing is really working. Nitro has had some close calls and given the forecast tomorrow should be an adventure too but so far (knock on wood) it's been open every day of the event and it's been running well after it warms up) Great Adventure's maintenance department is really working wonders.

It was funny, 2 weeks ago it was so cold and windy that late at night when the crowds thinned out they told us they couldn't send our train on Batman until they filled at least 3 rows and they made everyone sit in the front of the train. I swear despite all of that it was one of the fastest rides we've ever had on it. That ride does nothing but haul ass all day every day. It's an amazing coaster.

I can't stress enough how bad the American side is. If you go to Niagara Falls and stay on the American side you'll be regretting it for the entire trip. As a New Yorker, Times Square is really overrated. (Though of course you'll want to visit... It's cool for what it is) Don't eat anything in Times Square, all the food is really expensive to cover their insane rents (yes, even the chain restaurants are much more expensive than anywhere else) and none of it is that good. There's no need to stay in Times Square. As far as food goes though I'd suggest going down to Lombari's pizza in Little Italy. It's right off the F train... Or better yet do Scott's pizza tour. Also, book the Statue of Liberty WAY in advance of you want to do that.

I don't know why but we never mind the cold on Nitro... Even the other night when it was 30 degrees. Usually we have at least 2-3 sweatshirts / hoodies on and a jacket and 2 pairs of pants... And obviously gloves (sounds excessive but we know what we're getting into) so we dress for it but I never have a problem. The only ride I find cold is Sky Screamer because you're not really doing much of anything to take your mind off the cold.

I'm far too hammered to answer this question properly right now but I have two major pieces of advice. 1) The American side of the falls is an embarrassment. Go to Canada, stay in Canada and drink lots of Tim Hortons while you're there. 2) Listen to everyone and go to Great Adventure... Because El Toro.

Eastern Road Tripcoasterbill replied to ALT2870's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys! I'd spend 2 days at Cedar Point unless you've been there before. There's a lot to see and do there and if you go for just one day you're taking a big risk with that awful weather policy of theirs. Also, are you flying from DC? I'm confused why you'd go all the way to Baltimore just to drive back to SFA. Seriously don't do this. By the way, you're going to want to get yourself an EZ Pass if possible in your rental car.

They have a waffle cart over by the tree (which is usually the fountain). It's amazing. Order one of everything, and I know what you're going to think when you get there... I can add ice cream for a few extra dollars? Why would I pay extra? And it's cold... do I want ice cream? Nah that's okay I don't need the ice cream. Stop... You don't need that kind of negativity in your life. Get the damn ice cream.

I'd wait until night time to make a determination on the lights, personally I think they're on par with Dollywood but Dollywood has a lot more of them and they're not as concentrated. If I had to pick a favorite it would probably be Dollywood but not by much. I think the area where Dollywood blows Great Adventure away at Christmas is the shows but for what it is, Jack Frost is fun.
