The guys at Killington are at it again. Despite having one of the worst seasons ever for snowfall and a forecast tomorrow of 87 degrees, Superstar quad spins at 8 AM sharp. Get a load of this trail... Lol are you not entertained?

5 Parks, 10 Days Midwest Advice

Good advice, though a Platinum Pass also gets you in and I assume you have one since you're spending 3 days at Cedar Fair parks on this trip. -

I was about to say Seven Dwarfs Mine Train but actually it's Shamu Express. Brit made me ride it because the trains looked like Shamu and she's now declared it the greatest coaster ever built for that very reason. -

Nothing will spin those turnstiles like this... No wonder attendance was through the roof. -

Not being argumentive, but out of genuine curiosity how many other parks have you been to? I'm about to lose all my cool points but 50 parks, 268 coasters (269 if you count mountain coasters). Of those, Dollywood is my 3rd favorite park, right behind Knoebels and Cedar Point, beating out both Busch Parks, Magic Kingdom, Universal Orlando and a bunch of other awesome parks. Mystery Mine and Thunderhead are both top 20 rides for me, though admittedly I think very highly of Mystery Mine compared to the general enthusiast consensus. I've also only been to Dollywood during Smoky Mountain Christmas but all non-water rides are open for the event. -

Why anyone wouldn't want to watch the shows or eat the food at Dollywood is beyond me. I totally disagree with you on basically everything but to each his own I guess. I love all of Dollywood's coasters. -

Okay let's do it. In my opinion Dollywood is one of the best parks in America, the Season Pass pays for itself in less than 2 visits and then you can go back for the #1 Theme Park Christmas event in America (and it deserves that title). Mystery Mine, Tennessee Tornado, Thunderhead and Wild Eagle are awesome. The shows are awesome, the supporting rides are awesome, the atmosphere is awesome, the food is awesome, they have cinnamon bread which is holy sh*t amazing and nobody is going to take one negative review of Lightning Rod as gospel when most reviews are absolutely glowing. Plus even if Lightning Rod were the worst coaster ever built the park would still be exceptional. How's that? -
Even though I don't doubt this is good advice, you shouldn't have to worry about things like that just like you shouldn't have to adopt certain positions to ride, for instance, an SLC. Naturally it will provide a better ride but ideally every coaster would be smooth in any seat. Okay, but this applies to pretty much every single 3 bench wood coaster on earth not named Phoenix. It's not like it's exclusive to one ride. They always run smoother in non wheel seats.

2015 Theme Park Attendance Report
coasterbill replied to A.J.'s topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I think the things that really jump out to me are Magic Mountain and Cedar Point. While Twisted Colossus was an amazing addition, a 9% jump is pretty amazing for a Six Flags park. I wonder what other factors played into this. As for Cedar Point, an 8% jump with no major additions is incredible. Maybe I underestimated the appeal of Rougarou but I feel like other factors have to be playing into that one also. Great Adventure had a huge jump but I would attribute that to Holiday in the Park and extending the season by 2 months. Nothing else shocked me too much. Universal Orlando seems to be a complete powerhouse, so does Canada's Wonderland. It is nice to see Sea World Orlando finally stop the bleeding a little but I expected that to happen eventually. All in all this is always a really interesting report to sift through. -

Very short, no need for Fastlane Plus. Just ride Nighthawk first, then Ricochet, then have at it... -

I agree but it is really just the soft ending that ruins it for most people. It's like a movie that is awesome but the ending sucks, that's all people remember out of it And on this Fahrenheit debate, I'm glad we finally are comparing it to a similar coaster, I dislike when people compare it to Maverick since they are two totally different experiences. I have yet to ride impulse so I cannot comment yet, however, I will say I quite like Fahrenheit but stacking up against Storm Runner and Skyrush it can get lost in the mix I know that's always been the complaint but it never bothered me. I sort of like the fake-out corkscrew it pulls and the meandering finale doesn't ruin an otherwise great coaster for me. -

I love Cedar Point. Despite informing everyone on the way in that Dragster would not open yesterday, they got it running 15 minutes before closing and kept the line open 30 minutes after they closed to allow everyone to get a ride in. Hats off to Cedar Point! -

Great update! I can't wait to get out to this park. -
Lol are you one of those monsanto bashing, non GMO people? When I'm eating a bag of Takis I expect it to be terrible for me and I don't care what's in them. If you're the kind of person who reads ingredient labels on everything you shouldn't be eating Takis. You clearly can't face the intensity. PS: they're actually really good. We tried the "Nitro" one at the park since we were feeling festive. Lol
