  1. Alright, I've been busy as hell with a huge concert tour (K-pop, Seventeen, come see it, there's explosions and flamethrowers) so I've been a bit out of the loop. I'm on a day off in a rainy Houston, though, so here's my input - Y'all people complaining about this coaster are goddamn morons. The media they've released make it look like a great mid-size woodie and the POV convinced me to finally visit WoF for the first time next season. You goofy bastards need to calm way down.

  3. YOu can gradually raise the price while you are gradually improving the product. Charging 30-40 is not gradually improving the parking experience when you don't offer trams, shade or even an eveningly paved lot. Look how long it took to add a restroom near superman and batman at six flags america. Too many things that would enhance the guest experience have been too long ignored and you just cant say ok we want to consider ourselves in the league of disney and universal so pay us more and we will provide new benches. I just feel dejected because it feels six flags is making it seem like they parks have become city dumps due to the customers while they turned their rides into advertisements, tapped IP's that interest teens and ignore creating a family experience like they use to before they started buying up parks and lost their way.

  4. I think by having lower attendance but those guests paying more is probably more profitable for SF. They will probably save on maintenance of the rides by having less cycles. They might need a bit less employees so again saving money.

  5. "They told me to move along, so I drove through the maintenance area." Although, I can completely understand not wanting him to film their top secret construction project. #willstillopenbeforeSFSTLcarousel

  6. Maybe the new premium experience can include putting some fiberglass horses on the carousel and calling it a day. Or, we can just leave it SBNO until we push a Flying Turns timeline.

  7. While I personally feel this coaster would've been a much nicer fit at Dorney Park, that's just the dorky coaster nerd in me who pays attention to "well-rounded lineups" and crap like that. I am still absolutely stoked that WOF is finally adding a coaster after 14 years. Cedar Fair finally threw one of their small parks a bone and I think that is something to be excited about for sure. These new coaster announcements are fun, it finally is starting to feel like pre-COVID now that most of the COVID-delayed rides are now open (looking at you Aquaman). I think Cedar Fair killed it with announcements this year and the fact that they made all of those announcements when Six Flags was presenting their Q2 earnings call is just.... kinda hilarious. Already looking at a WOF & SDC trip next year!

  9. Construction fencing is up all around WildCat and there is land clearing/digging happening around and in front of the station.

  10. They appear to be Kumbak trains. Well they say if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all so uh... peace out everyone. Enjoy your afternoon.

  11. Major update: the propeller fell off of the rusted plane thing. If you're going to the park specifically for this, consider postponing as this development may take your extremely-premium experience down to an only marginally-premium experience. Oh, and sorry for the double post but I hope you're sitting down for the Fright Fest prices. ... just to compare, this is more expensive than some days at Disney World This is for the same night. Great Adventure is only going to be open for 5 hours this night. HHN will likely either run for 6.5 or 7.5 hours this day based on previous years. Also, mazes are not included in the Six Flags price. Also their mazes are terrible. Holiday in the Park is also all listed at $99, so... good luck with that.

  12. This is so insanely Six Flags. As seen in the GreatAdv Conn group on FB. "We priced the trash out of the park, and then took a bunch of broken dirty old crap from the boneyard and threw it on this dead grass we have right in the middle of the park! Premium experience!"

  13. AMEN. You nailed it. I feel like ever since Hershend moved to Atlanta and had some shifts in leadership, things have gone south (no pun intended) I concur with the examples you cite. I feel like Mystery Mine (v1.0) was a tease of what they were capable of, then the came close again with firechaser. You can balance awesome theme with awesome thrills (wild eagle and Lightning Rod that were lighter on in-ride theming) but I feel like this was their chance to really “play with the big leagues” and they blew it. I was ready to trade in my KI passes for Dollywood again until I saw this. I can have a lightly themed queue and a coaster in a field 15 min from my house.

  14. Yeah, I just really don't like the direction that the park has been going in aesthetically lately. They've cut down tons of trees, they removed the cave thing for a giant path with nothing on it, they never replaced the exposed and ugly Mystery Mine supports and then left the unused track just sitting there, Wildwood Grove is ugly, etc. I'm trying not to judge this thing from a rendering but I feel like this is kind-of more of the same. The ride itself seems fine, I just wish it wasn't a bright orange unthemed coaster sitting in an empty field. I don't expect Disney quality here, just Dollywood-10-years-ago quality.

  15. "Hey, people really like Firechaser Express but it has low capacity. Let's build another one but budget cut the theming." I mean, it's fine. It seems redundant and it's in an open field but it adds capacity and has an ultra-low height requirement so that's never a bad thing.
