  1. Even when the detector/locker system does work right, it still gums up the works. They need to go back to the under-seat pouches or the pre-queue dectector and locker system. The same goes for Twisted Timbers.

  4. Yeah, It's almost as if we never hear about a mass shooting at least twice a month or how we have an increase sense of no regard for anyone's safety as the days go by. Heck, we are lucky to even have people willing to work at theme parks lately due to the stress they receive. No matter how much you don't want to see it, it is dangerous and scary out there in the world.

  5. Do we actually take those list serious? All it is, is parks getting on their socials and telling people to vote for them. There is no requirements or any prerequisite. Just click the button daily on my favorite park. It's good fodder to post on the parks respective social pages but at the end of the day, it's a popularity contest lol.

  11. I still don't understand why the park doesn't invest in a modern-day Vekoma. Everything I see is brilliant from them. Get that PoS Ninja out of there and replace it with a good Vekoma

  12. ^ I agree with you, the Ride Op was just following her guidelines and it was the man who chose not to listen. I'm sure it made it worse on her when the son got upset and started crying because his father left him, as a parent I wouldn't have left him especially if the son was young. I could see how it might be a little hard for the op to handle and process everything that happened, who knows what the guy was going to do after he got off and refused to listen.

  13. Maybe the ride op was "fragile" or maybe a person that simply does not respond well to pressure or maybe afraid she was going to get in trouble. My son had a supervisor give him a safety once over some people ignoring him when he directed them to stay seated until the go karts had all been parked and he was pretty sure they did not understand English, so hardly his fault but the supervisor didn't care. Impossible for anyone to pass judgement when they don't know the person/situation/job pressures, etc. On the other hand maybe people could stop being so defiant and just follow directions once in a while. All he had to do was wait on the ride and the whole thing would have been avoided

  14. ...and us Old Folk have gone Gray awaiting that all elusive Hyper Coaster. Next year is the year, right! ...maybe not

  15. Trying to figure out what was so 'well done' about the situation. It all sounded like something unnecessarily blown out of proportion. Fifteen minutes of sitting on a fiberglass horse and essentially being entertained by... almost nothing. Sounds annoying as hell. Meanwhile, the ride operator in charge of your safety can't handle the minimal amount of situational stress and has to be removed from operations. Unreal how fragile and easily shaken people are in 2022.

  16. Only 1 year behind ya!!! Although when I was there last week and caught the ride on Eagle a little girl (maybe 8 or 9) was in row 2 right behind me with her Mom and asked if I was all by myself. I said yes and she said "that's so sad", lol. I told her it was ok, I'd been on the ride a lot and remembered when it opened, then she just kind of stared at me like I must be 100.

  17. I still don't understand why we're supposed to hate this guy. If he outbid a bunch of other people who wanted to keep it as an amusement park then yeah, I could see why fans of the park would be disappointed but he was the only one who even bothered to bid because nobody wanted the place. He bought an entire amusement park and giant waterfront property for $1.2 million. None of these preservationist groups put in a bid. Even if someone scraped together some money on GoFundMe and put in a losing bid, at least we could say that SOMEONE wanted the place but nobody else did. Obviously I've always been vocal about how much I disliked this park but I'm really not taking this stance because of that. If Standard Amusements came in and said "We're going to buy it, bring in GCI to fix up the coaster, clean the place up and add a bunch of new rides" I would have been like "F*ck yeah!" and I WISH that happened but it didn't. Also, they put the rides up for sale including Blue Streak at one point. Nobody bought them. They probably would have let someone take that thing for free if they covered the cost of getting it out of there but again... nobody wanted it. Nobody wanted the park or the coaster but everyone wanted to tell the only guy who did want it how he was supposed to run the place that they couldn't be bothered to bid a single penny on.
