InsaneCoasterJunkie
Goals for Waldameer this season?
thepoint4life23
How busy on a Saturday do they get. Just trying to figure out how long the lines for the few bigger rides would be. Just trying to see if I could knock out the 3 or 4 roller coasters in a few hours.
BitterOldHag
Depends on the Saturday. Early in the season, Saturdays can be busy, but manageable if you get there at open. Once late-June/early July rolls around, Saturdays can be quite crazy, and you may end up parking quite a ways out. But, those crazy Saturdays have a slight advantage- two train ops (usually) on Comet and RF2. Even on the busiest of days, 2 trains on RF2 results in about a 30-40 minute wait at most. Regardless, I HIGHLY recommend getting there a little before noon or whatever time the rides park opens. Grab a wristband or get some Wally Points and a Wally Card for your rides. If you enjoy classic dark rides, I'd ride Whacky Shack first to avoid waiting in one of the world's slowest moving lines, then go ride the coasters you want to get on. RF2 was running crazy good this season. Steel Dragon was down last Saturday (May 10th) with no cars on the track... so I am not sure if it has reopened or not. I also recommend a ride on the park's Larson Drop Tower. Grab a seat facing the lake and enjoy the peaceful view and of course, the gut-wrenching drop. Waldameer is one of my favorite parks with its family park vibes, relaxing atmosphere, and decent collection of rides for a smaller park. Hope you enjoy your visit. _s3_
Waldameer just announced their 2026 Water World plans, which includes a two-phase, 4 slide replacement of the original four Water World slides and reconfiguration of their Endless River. https://www.facebook.com/Waldameer/posts/pfbid02eqW3ZaahaGQb5PV3tprgecoR5mJiSmoehKQ8Uv73hNgYuuxr6ZuR1852knFzwjuFl Quote JUST ANNOUNCED! Arriving Summer 2026! Bigger slides, bigger thrills, and even more fun for the entire family! The north half of Water World is undergoing a major transformation featuring an all-new Endless River and two huge 5-person family raft slides! One slide will feature an exciting yet not-too-scary combination of spirals, tunnels, and dips. The other slide will begin with a semi-translucent helix, then take a white-knuckle plunge before climbing a nearly vertical wave-shaped wall, giving a moment of zero-gravity weightlessness. Our new Endless River will offer the same relaxing experience we’ve all known and loved, but with a new variety of interactive water elements and a modern, more accessible design featuring zero-depth entry and exit. A few years down the road, Phase II of this project will feature additional dueling and twister inner tube slides unlike anything else in Water World! In the meantime, be sure to get your final slides on Lake Erie Dip, Presque Isle Plunge, Raging River, and Wild River. Also, take your final dips in the original Endless River and original heated relaxing pool. The final day for the old Endless River, Lake Erie Dip, and Presque Isle plunge is August 17th. At this time, we expect Raging River, Wild River, and the original heated relaxing pool to be available through Labor Day 2025. I like the upgrades and hope they include the waterfall feature similar to the existing feature on Endless River. Definitely a large scale upgrade for the water park. pryonisys
Looks like a great addition to replace some old slides. I'll miss the old ones, but that's just because I grew up with them. I can completely acknowledge that they never have lines anymore (especially the old body slides), so this will be a great update.
