Homer Posted May 22, 2006 Posted May 22, 2006 Looks a lot better than Fantazy Land. Were there any coasters at the park?
krouvi Posted May 22, 2006 Posted May 22, 2006 Yes its a working park not like the one in Egypt which is like a war zone. I am happy to see that kids can have fun in Iraq. Nice and important pics.
jmc247 Posted May 22, 2006 Author Posted May 22, 2006 Looks a lot better than Fantazy Land. Were there any coasters at the park? There are only two medium sized coasters at the park.
rcoasters Posted May 22, 2006 Posted May 22, 2006 Well, they have arcades and some rides so it's fine by me. I'm happy that it's not like Fantazy Land ! These people too can have fun !
BeemerBoy Posted May 23, 2006 Posted May 23, 2006 What's with the crying baby on the sign though? Or was I looking at it wrong? Maybe it's busting out laughing? I just can't tell.
YoshiFan Posted May 23, 2006 Posted May 23, 2006 It's a laughing baby. It's also a generic photo that I have seen used in picture frames at the craft store (like the picture they put in it for display that you take out to put your picture in).
socalMAN123 Posted May 23, 2006 Posted May 23, 2006 It's nice to see that Iraq gets better treatment than Egypt! Actually, it looks pretty good, but what is up with the Pikachu on the Sea Dragon?! ---Brent
Jon Sabo Posted May 23, 2006 Posted May 23, 2006 Awesome photo's ! I'm curious if anyone has pics of the park in Kuwait (was rebuilt after Gulf War and heard they had 2 coasters). I think ITPS re-done the management/rebuilding of the park. Just curious! It appears in the photos how young the mothers are there (or just my imgagination..lol). I heard it gets quite HOT there in summer months too. Do you work at the park or just visiting?
rollermonkey Posted May 23, 2006 Posted May 23, 2006 If you are talking about Entertainment City, I've been, but before I started taking pictures. It was either '94 or '96 and they had cleaned up all the destruction Saddam's troops had done to the park, and had a display showing what the park looked like after his troops had pulled back to Iraq. It was a nice little park, and one of my first outside the US, but the coasters weren't much to write home about. There is a newer park that has a B&M, but I haven't been back to Kuwait since '96.
ECZenith Posted May 23, 2006 Posted May 23, 2006 Interesting photos, thanks for sharing. <--- Also notinced the generic baby.
CoasterFanatic Posted May 23, 2006 Posted May 23, 2006 Does this mean the site is going to go down again?
rollermonkey Posted May 23, 2006 Posted May 23, 2006 ^I'm at 2500 streams and 500 downloads of my Eejanaika video. That thread has jumped about 20,000 views since I posted them, mostly since Robb put it on the front page. The site got a little hinky this morning, (my time) which isn't a good sign if some of those other sites start linking to that page. I think this is what happens when TPR gets over 12,000 registered users! Go, Robb! Go, Robb!
jmc247 Posted August 9, 2006 Author Posted August 9, 2006 Interesting photos, thanks for sharing. <--- Also notinced the generic baby. Your Welcome
Corkscrewed Posted August 9, 2006 Posted August 9, 2006 Interesting photos, thanks for sharing. <--- Also notinced the generic baby. The way you have that arrow pointed, it looks like your avatar wants to EAT the baby... Interesting pics. It basically looks like one big family fun center. But yeah, loads better than FantazyLand.
TheGreatOne Posted August 9, 2006 Posted August 9, 2006 Looks a lot better than Fantazy Land. Were there any coasters at the park? If I'm not mistaken, there is a Galaxi-style coaster there. I just watched a documentary (Patriot Act by Jeffrey Ross) that a comedian shot while doing a USO tour in Iraq. He showed an aerial video of a park, and it looked a lot like this one.
