These are the 4 days every gamer have been waiting for. E3 2006 is shaping up to be the best ever as companies strut their next-gen consoles. Xbox360 has been released, but Nintendo's Wii and Sony's PS3 have been little known.

So, talk about your gaming wish list, but don't be a bashing fanboy. And lets hope Robb has an update full of weird crap from Kentia Hall!

And for you fanboys, conference times, NOTE: ALL TIMES PACIFIC TIME!:

Nintendo Press Conference

Expected events: Nintendo Wii info unveiled (price hopefully), Nintendo Wii games, and more DS games (hopefully an American release for that Play-Yan thing!)

May 9th, 2006 at 9:30 AM (PST)

Sony Press Conference

Expected events: More info unveiled of the PS3, more PS2/3 games, price info, PSP games.

TODAY at 4:00 PM (PST)

Microsoft Press Conference

Expected events: Xbox 360 games, other news items might pop up.

May 9th, 2006 at 12:00 PM (PST)

I'm looking forward to the announcements that Nintendo and Sony are going to make because they haven't release much information on their systems yet!

Robb, are you going to E3 this year?

Posted

I am really curious to see the pricepoint on PS3.....not that I will get it right away anyway.....I have learned that if you be really patient with Video games...you can get them much cheaper.

Now the NEW Super Mario Bros. is a BIG exception...I cannot Wait for this.

I'm definitely picking up New Super Mario Bros. tomorrow. Looks fantastic!

Sony's conference should be starting soon, I think it was delayed.

SquareEnix announced 2 Wii titles, glad to see they're supporting the system.

TIME magazine had an article on the Wii (that they played), in it two new games where unveiled. Wario Ware and a tennis game....

Link!

I, for one, cant wait to dance the Hula for Wario.

Robb, are you working on COD3? If so, that Wii version better kick ass.

New SMB comes out on the 15th, not tomorrow, although that would be a hell of a lot cooler!

If you ask me I'm still waiting for...

Smash Bros. Wii- PLEASE have Sonic playable! Please?

Release of the "Play-Yan" device in America.

The PS3 in general and how much of a hole it will burn in your pocket.

The "Virtual Console" on Wii.

Shoot!

My inner-calender was been screwy recently for some reason. Why the heck did I think it was already next week?

For some reason I thought tomorrow was the 16th (I've given up on trying to get games on their release dates which are the days they're shipped).

I guess I just want May/June to mvoe faster than they have been. Sorry for my excessive stupidity.

So, is the PS3 controller really a silver Dual Shock 2? wow.......

So, is the PS3 controller really a silver Dual Shock 2? wow.......

Psh, if we're lucky!

I personally hate the ps2 controller, but if its between the dual shock and the silver Controller-ang, id take the dual shock...

They really need some controller lessons. Why is the analog stick where it is? Why?

What peeves me off is...

1. Sony rips off Nintendo... yet again... by claiming "lightweight" and 6 degrees of geometric space. Who cares?

2. ITS THE EXACT SAME F***IN' THING! Don't boast it as innovative...

3. As impressive as this thing looks, I doubt American consumers will buy it at launch. Nintendo please come up with a kickass ad campaign for Wii that involves Sony bashing.

Thats alot of money.

The good thing is that with a date and prices from Sony, I'm sure we'll see the same announcements from Nintendo tomorrow.

Sony saw a good idea from Nintendo and diefinitely borrowed a bit from it. I do think Nintendo will have the better controller but we shall see.

Nothing I have read so far as convinced me that I want a PS3.

O.M.F.G....

OMFG

Are you KIDDING ME??

OH, WOW, the sony controller is motion sensitive!

HOW ORIGINAL!

HOW INNOVATIVE!

HOW NEW!

I hate you sony. I hate you now more then ever you evil stealing b@st@rd$.

EDIT: looking back, im not suprised at all. Sony has copied every Nintendo controller to date...

d-pad (and the rest of the snes/nes controller) = playstation one.

n64's analog sticks = dualshock

Wii-mote's motion sensors = ps3 controller

Rumblepack = rumble i dualshock

boo Sony, try some originaltiy!

Nintendo warned us of this, remember? thats why they said they wanted to delay its unvieling. TUrns out they probably should have...

Eh, everyone steals from everyone else.

I'm more amused that they think casual gamers are going to plunk down $500 for a system (and then $50-$60 for games, $50 for an extra controller...so that's like $600-$700 if you actually want to play something). I'm sure it'll have a big launch, but who knows from there? The hardcore game players will be all over it, but I don't personally know anyone who owns a 360, and the 360 is $100 cheaper than the cheapest PS3.

If the Wii is $250 or under, holy crap, Nintendo is gonna sell so many.

Posted

I'm guessing that $250 will be the number for Wii.

I'm also now reading something about a speaker built into the remote.

I guess we'll know more in a little over 12 hours.

Posted

There is NO WAY I am Paying $499 for a game system, and forget $599

I may get a 360, but we will probably wait untill the price drops

as for nintendo's wee machine

the only Nintendo Machine I own, besides my GBA and my DS is a Super Nintendo, I did not buy the 64 or the Cube, that said,

with as much enjoyment as we have gotten from our wonderful DS's, and the fact the price point will be WAY more realistic, it has just jumped to the top of the list

Can't way to play with some wii

My GBA SP is motion sensitive. Ok, my Wario Ware Twisted is motion sensitive. Was Nintendo the first to come up with the Gyro-Sensor thing? I ask because of Kirby Tilt -n- Tumble and Wario Ware Twisted. (Not sure what other Gyro-Sensor games are out there)

Personally, I think I'm gonna have to go with the Wii. Why? First off, Nintendo has always caught my eye. (No, not being a Nintendo Fanboy) Of all the consoles, the Wii has the most unique controller although I'm a bit concerned on how Smash Bros Wii is going to work. I don't want to have to re-learn Smash Bros again as I was able to transfer my skills from the N64 to the Cube with no problems. Otherwise, I think they have a good future ahead of them. Infact, I sometimes mess around with this wireless computer mouse remote as it closely resembles a Wii controller and hold the handheld trackball in my other hand. (Yes, it's gotten that bad )

Posted

I wouldn't worry to much about the Sony Controller, it only has tilt sensors, while the wee machine has full range of motion

example, your playing zelda, and you can stab at the screen to kill someone, can't do that with Sony's controller

Posted

^ That's true. Im not worried about it stealing Nintendo's thunder, im only mad because the move was incredibly cheap!

Basically, the ps3 controller is like warioware twisted/kirby tilt'n tumble/etc. You can't do alot with it, and i bet it won't be used often.

Posted

I agree, and seriously, the WEE machine would not be on my list if it wasn't for the incredible time we have had with the DS, oh and the fact it will be about half as much as the PS3

The controller thing is kinda what Sony does, the problem with thier machine lies with thier PURPOSE for making the machine, it is the vehicle for thier Blu-Ray format, that is generally not the best motivation for a new console

so they are assuming the public will pay an extra 100 to 200 for a movie player???, uh last time I checked its a game machine, I can SERIOUSLY upgrade my comp for $600

I'll defintly pass for now

Sony has the wrong motivation, I can honestly say that no console has been succesful starting at the high a price point, oh well, I guess we all knew the price would be high

I do not get the "cheap" system crap these company's are playing

http://ps3.ign.com/articles/705/705887p1.html

It is getting so ridiculous that I just have no desire to get either 360 or ps3 for a LONG time....I have WAY too many ps2 games I have not played yet and that will keep me satisfied till these systems are at a more reasonable price.

Also am I the only one not really impressed with this "jump" in technology this generation....it just really does not seem worth it for this slight polish in visuals.....I just do not get it. Revolution seems nice....but the best features are playing games I have owned and played (and most of them bought twice already for GBA) for the last 10-20 years. The DS looks better everyday

For those who are familar with the PC game "Far Cry", which is one of the best 1st person shooters of all time. They're suppose to introduce the next Crytek game at E3 called "Crysis".

You can see a demo of Crysis featuring the "CryEngine2" at IGN.com. The game isn't coming out for a while, but it looks great so far!

i am thus far wholly unimpressed with Sony's latest outing... PS3 is unimaginitive and in many case just poorly planned.

I am looking forward to playing with my wii much more than the ps3.
