RRollergod Posted May 4, 2006 Posted May 4, 2006 EZ if you would sell one what would it be and what would the price be? I really want one! BTW I make O scale coasters out of Balsa. I am working on a GCI named Fox River Run. I'm not that far on it but I can post pics if someone wants me too.
Cerberus Posted May 4, 2006 Posted May 4, 2006 Whoa! Fun miniature coasters! Its the tiny size of them that I love. To think that they are just coiled wire on a CD case (is that about right?) sized piece of board is mind blowing Have you looked at further presentation methods? For instance, you can buy empty snow globes and stick a custom model in one of those. Or you could find a toy/model car display box and house them in that. That'd obviously help protect them too... and raise the price if you intended to sell! I know you hate making them, but I think I like the water slides best. They look nifty
ECZenith Posted May 4, 2006 Author Posted May 4, 2006 Yep, CD case is about the size of the base I use. I also feel the size is what makes them interesting. If they were any bigger I just wouldn't have room around the house to store them! The SFNE model is huge and already takes up a lot of room. A larger scale would make the detail I want unacceptable. The plastic cases sound like a good idea, something I might look into if I ever plan on selling build-to-order models. I'm glad you like the waterslides, I even have a model of a proslide tonado. Some of the slides are difficult to make because of the complex twists an turns they take, crossing over eachother. I insist that on my SFNE Hurricane Harbor the slides are accurate so they do take some time. The "fat" waterslides, proslide tornados, Zooma/Geronimo falls were hardest to make... The tube is actually thin plastic clothesline, hollowed out and then a wire inserted to hold shape. The stripes are then painted on. Again, glad you guys like the models. There will be dozens more assembled this year. Thanks for checking them out.
CP_RULES Posted May 4, 2006 Posted May 4, 2006 There will be dozens more assembled this year. Well be sure to keep us posted, these things are absolutely awesome. Justin "I would pay for one!" Seabaugh
ECZenith Posted September 6, 2006 Author Posted September 6, 2006 I got a nice new 7.1 megapixel camera today so I took some new shots of the in-production models... Tatsu needs paths and a station and then it will finally be done. Kraken is ALMOST finished, still need to do some painting. Top Thrill Dragster, still needs the final details...
vjgx Posted September 6, 2006 Posted September 6, 2006 Wow, these are awesome!! Now I suddenly have the urge to make one of these things...
Primogen18 Posted September 6, 2006 Posted September 6, 2006 very awesome work, Id be interested in buying one of these if I had the money. I agree with the snow globe idea as well, that would be cool.
justin12345 Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 can you make me a kraken roller coaster model and manta but where you can move the cars around please
coasterkyle Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 First off welcome to TPR, I noticed you posted on another thread asking someone to make a model for you. Both of these threads have not been active for a long time, so the users that have posted these threads are gone, moved on to different things, or do not frequent the site anymore. Also, if you were to get someone to make these models you want, will most likely cost you a lot of cash. I suggest looking on Ebay for some Coaster Dynamix sets, and make the models you want yourself. Oh and a suggestion before you post to another thread look at the date the last post was posted, that should tell you if it is active or not. Good luck with you're models.
