krouvi Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 I just saw this new ginat ride in some European sites. I don't understand a word but the clips say it all. This is a new Afterburner only bigger. Here are thre links for 3 movies from other sites : http://www.kermisland.com/filmpjes1/00000097a711bc164.php http://www.kermismovies.be/new/?a=view&b=469 http://www.kermismovies.be/new/?a=view&b=471 Have fun
Canobie Fan Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 I saw a video of it a few weeks ago.. Its tall.. But it doesnt look that good.. And 5 seat rows? Odd...
waterviper Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 LMAO!! The kids on that onride video didn't look enthused at all to be on that thing!! There were like humm hoooo... Is it over yet?
coasterguy618 Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 I have to admit, IMHO, it looks very ugly, but it looks fun.
krouvi Posted April 20, 2006 Author Posted April 20, 2006 Yes it looks like it shakes during spinnign and people look like it is not so much fun. I think this ride will make a success this summer but it is ugly. Have you noticed how the riders neck moves from side to side ? The good part beside the height is that it get to spin several times from side to side.
martinb Posted April 20, 2006 Posted April 20, 2006 I thought these rides went the whole way over? I've seen one similar to it, not so big, called Oblivion, that went the whole way over!
viking86 Posted April 20, 2006 Posted April 20, 2006 I thought these rides went the whole way over? I've seen one similar to it, not so big, called Oblivion, that went the whole way over! Are you talking about the Mondial Ultra Max? http://www.flatrides.com/Ride%20Index%20Pages/ultramax.html Those things looks insane!!!
martinb Posted April 20, 2006 Posted April 20, 2006 Nope not them, they are identicle to the xxl afterburner but they go the whole way over!
socalMAN123 Posted April 20, 2006 Posted April 20, 2006 That is insane! OMG it looks way better than the Afterburner I went on at the Strawberry Festival. ---Brent
ECZenith Posted April 20, 2006 Posted April 20, 2006 Wow, I can't believe they built one of these things. Hopefully it will run longer ride cycles than the US afterburners.
DerekRx Posted April 20, 2006 Posted April 20, 2006 It really doesn't look much different from a regular Afterburner, except maybe it goes a little higher. 5 person seating, that's just odd. I can't see too many parks in the US interested in this, though fairs probably would pick it up. Throw one of them on top of the Stratosphere!
Jew Posted April 20, 2006 Posted April 20, 2006 Can't go wrong with my favorite flatride getting even bigger! I hope one of these makes it to the states, but I doubt it because it takes 3 or 4 trailers to transport. It might even be too heavy for U.S. roads (like the Huss topspin...the only traveling one in the U.S. goes by rail)?
