BrownStreak
I have gone to several parks by myself over the years. Way back when I worked there, I used to go to WDW every day I had off and just walk around and talk to people. None of the parks I have been to have a single riders' line, but at the few parks that care about capacity I have often responded to the call for single riders from the ride ops. CoasterCrazy
I have been to plenty of parks by myself. Going to parks alone has its advantages and disadvantages. When you go to park by yourself you can move a lot faster, this works out great for me because I walk fast. When I go to parks with people I take more time instead of moving fast. The reason for this is that most people that I go to parks with don't like going through the park at a fast pace. Its fun hanging out with people at parks because it makes the day less boring. cfc
I often go to my home park, BGE, alone, as well as to PKD. In fact, my first visit to WDW was a "sad and pathetic" one, because I was there working at a conference vendor show (had a great time). But if I'm making a long trek to Florida or back to California, I prefer to go with others--more fun, and you can split the room tab!
What Now
I've been to parks by myself. I get things done a lot faster that way.
sfmmFREAK
a lot of you say its faster, but the point of a theme park isn't to just get it done as fast as possible. its mutch better with friends, because you at least have someone to share the memory with. neovortex2k
When I was in florida in 2002 I ewent with my mate who is also a bit of a coaster fanantic but after 10 dats straight he had to have a day off so I went back to Busch Gardens on my own! I have to say I really enjoyed it.It was great because after riding a coaster I got straight back on it and did it again but in a different row until I had done them all and didn't have to worry about any1 else! I also rode them in different ways, like i read on this website one time, like turning my head backwards, turning to the side, looking at my feet and looking at the sky to get a different ride experience.I have to say it's brilliant you get a differnt ride each time. I did miss him a little though as i'm not used to not saying anything for 10 hours straight.
kumba70
I much prefer to share the experience with someone who enjoys riding just as much as I do. It wasn't until recently that I have come across a few friends who enjoy theme parks as much as I do. I usually take a trip up north to the Gold Coast when they open something new and had to drag one of my non-rider friends along for the company when I wasn't riding the bigger rides. A friend from Germany (who enjoys riding as much as I do) was staying with me recently and we went up to Movie World and rode Superman Escape. It was great to be able to share the experience of the ride. Having said that, when I was working at Wonderland Sydney I used to go by myself all the time. I would either go in early or stay back after work to get a few rides in. It was enjoyable because I did what I wanted to do, didn't have to consult anyone and it was only for a couple of hours, not the whole day. Ultimately I think it's best to share the experience
Tömmioh
Usually I visit themeparks with my (little) sister, but if she have something else to do, then I go alone. I'm used to doing stuff on my own, therefore I'm fine with visiting parks on my own. It's good that you can do/ride what you want and when you want etc. But, still it's nicer to visit parks with friends, family, and the few Coaster Force trips I've attended have been really great! Most of my friends like parks, coasters, but usually they've something else to do, or aren't 'just available', when you 'need them'. Also, I don't even visit my local park so much that I would need to have a season pass etc. I guess it would be different if I lived closer to a better park... l3ite_me1313
Yea.... I don't think I could handle going to a park by myself. I'd feel too sorry and pathetic I'd rather be with friends who are slower, than by myself. Who am I going to make sarcastic jokes with? Who am I gunna make fun of freaky guests with? Yeah.. I DEF need my friends to have a good time, even if the park is sucky, because we would still find a way to make it work. And I don't wanna be that loser that gets to fill in the empty seat next to a group of friends =/
socalMAN123
I've been to DLR by myself. But, I mean, that's Disneyland, you can't feel lonely there. ---Brent
SharkTums
I've gone by myself for a few different reasons: - Ran into BGT to get a quick ride on Gwazi (when it was good) because I had a pass and my ride back and forth from college did not! - Ran into IOA got a few rides and ate at Mythos before picking random people up at Orlando Airport. - SFMM Duh, Tatsu updates! I don't want to make anyone else have to put up with those! - Maybe some other ones randomly here or there.
live2tell75
I have been to parks alone many times. It is just easier being able to do what you want, when you want. I do enjoy going with people. But when your're with a group, you wait a lot, because nobody ever has to go to the bathroom at the same etime or everyone gets a snack or drink at different times. It is a lot of waiting around. In college, after my classes sometimes I whould head over to Busch Gardens Africa in the off season and be able to hit all the coasters each twice in about an hour and a half. One time I did a marathon alone trip. It was when there was a Men In Black: Alien Attack passholders preivew early in the morning at Universal Studios Florida a few years ago. I got up super early, drove to Orlando (about a 90 minute drive), went on Men In Black: Alien Attack & Back To The Future: The Ride before the rest of the park opened to everyone else. I then walked over to Islands of Adventure right when they opened, rode Hulk, Amazing Adventures of Spiderman, Dr. Doom's Fear Fall, Popeye's, Ripsaw Falls, J.P. River Adventure, Dueling Dragons (both Fire & Ice). I then headed over to The Disney-MGM Studios rode The Tower Of Terror, Rock and Rollercoaster & Muppet Vission 4D. Epcot was up next, I hit Test Track & Spaceship Earth (Mission Space & Soarin' weren't there yet). jumped on the monorail and went to the Magic Kingdom and it was way to crowded, so the only thing I hit was Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. Space Mountain had a super long line. So I left after about an hour. The last place I stopped at was Sea World Orlando and hit Kraken & Journey To Atlantis. I got home around 11:30pm. To say the least I was super TIRED from that experience, but it was almost like a challenge, to see if I could really go to that many parks in one day. It also helped at the time I had a pass to all the Florida parks. Going alone I don't know that any of my friends would want to do a trip like this, there would be a lot of complaining. -Eric J.
