I was debating whether or not to do Beech Bend and SFKK the same day. I was planning on visiting on 7/5. I'm going to Beech Bend primarily for the Kentucky Rumbler, but I will credit ho on the Dragon coaster! I looked at their website and it doesn't seem too big, but if the Kentucky Rumbler is anything like other GCI coasters, I'll probably ride it all day long! I think I did Lightning Racer 18 times and the Ozark Wildcat 14 times! I'll probably do Beech Bend from 10 to 2 and then head over to SFKK the rest of the day. I'm hoping SFKK will be like Dorney Park -- empty during the weekdays. I went to Dorney in July on a Thursday. I did all the coasters and a few re-rides in about 4 hours!

So is Beech Bend and SFKK doable? I have a Six Flags season pass, so admission isn't worrysome.

SFKK is fairly small so I say its doable. It was a bit crowded when I went a few years ago, but that was a weekend I think. Also, no line was longer than a half hour even for that case. And Chang rocks

Ya it's shouldn't be hard to do...plus with the time change you'll get an extra hour. I've only planned for just over 2 hours at Kentucky Kingdom this year, but that also becuase i've been there a few times.

Twisted Sisters is awesome despite the Gerstlauers (probably the only coaster i've been on that I didn't mind them), Thunder Run was running awesome in 2003, and you can't go wrong with a Schwarzkopf. Chang isn't half bad either.

I could easily spend a half day, but there is other stuff I rather do.

6FKK wasn't even terribly crowded when I attended on a Saturday the week of the Derby. I dallied around and re-rode a few coasters and was still ready to go in about 4 hours.

What's the drive time between the two parks supposed to be like?

I'd do KK in the morning

1. because it will be the lightest in the AM and the park can probably done by noon

2. you may want to reride Rumbler over and over and I wouldn't want to feel obligated to leave a nice little woodie for KK

^ That's exactly what I was thinking. Be at Kentucky Kingdom when the gates open, and you will have the entire park knocked out VERY quickly. Plus, I don't know if Beech Bend is going to be open at night any, but if they are....

Thanks for the tips! I was looking at the park hours. SFKK is open from 11 am to 9 pm and Beech Bend from 10 am to 7 pm on 7/5. I'll probably just do the coasters at least once at SFKK. I don't really do flats, unless there is a pretty awesome flat there.

The drive between Louisville and Bowling Green is about 2 hours according to Mapquest.

I actually did SFKK and Holiday World in one day. Got to SFKK right when the gates opened and did a clockwise circle, hitting every coaster, some twice, and was out the door by noon! Yup, all 8 (9? I forget) coasters in one hour!

The drive to HW was only an hour and I spent about 5 hours there and had a blast.

Have fun!

Just having gotten off the rumbler, You'll probably want to stay pretty long... What a ride! You'll love the airtime. Beech Bend also has the pinfari looping star and the spinning mouse coaster, but the Kentucky Rumbler is obviously the star attraction. As for driving times, it's definately around 2 hours from Bowling Green to Louisville. As for Kentucky Kingdom, the only line troubles I've ever had there was for the Mouse coaster they have, The Road Runner coaster. That line can be filled with little kids and their parents. Besides that I doubt you'll wait more than 15-30 minutes tops. Hopefully Greezed Lightnin' will be running for you, as it has only been running for me once in 5 trips there.

Also I agree the afternoon, especially on hot days is better for SFKK, many locals by the time the sun comes out hit the waterpark, as there's almost no shade in the entire park!

Well, I didn't hear that it was being taken out, but it might be (i'm in cincy and am not a fan of large parks besides Cedar Point, so don't keep up on Sixflags very much), but it was next to the Roadrunner Express or whatever it's called to the left of the front gate as you go in. (On the front gate side of the road going through the middle of the park)
