^ Are you sure? It's definately happened to me though. It was only a few months ago .

No, that's not possible. If Nana falls off, you just can't do the recovery with the two of them so it sucks a little, but you won't actually lose a life.

Have you ever had to point the remote in a weird direction, like 45 degrees up and 50 degrees to side so the sense bar would well...sense it?

There must be a light or something where you were pointing it; two adjacent lights work exactly like the sensor bar.

And I probably look like an idiot saying something that everybody most likely knows.

My youngest son's 12th birthday is coming up and he's been wanting a Wii for some time now. His grades are good and his chores have been kept up for the most part, so I figured we'd surprise him with the Wii. That leads me to some questions:

Where would I be most likely to find a Wii console in stock in the Sacramento area? I'm more than willing to call around or check store web sites, but having some idea of where it would most likely be in stock would be a big help in saving me some time.

Does the price vary greatly from one store to another?

And finally.. With the searching that I've done online to this point I've seen a few different "packages". Which is the best value when considering that he'll most likely be interested in the Mario series of games?

Please excuse me if this has already been covered in this thread, but it's currently 143 pages long and I honestly just didn't want to read every page. I know next to nothing about video game consoles so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Call and visit all of your local Targets, Best Buys, GameStop/EB's. Try to talk to someone who knows something. Find out when they normally get shipments. Days, times, etc. Ask when you should show up to have the best chance at getting one.

Try to avoid purchasing online or buying packages, that is how most of the places screw you over. It is very easy to find accessories and games on your own. Also many places online will take your order, then email you a week later saying you won't get your Wii for some time.

It takes a bit of work, but you should easily be able to find one if you do some work and research first.

Good luck! You won't go wrong getting any of the Nintendo produced games!

Thank you very much. That's exactly what I needed to know, particularly the part about the packages. We'd have surely fallen for one of those if I hadn't asked.

Target and Best Buy, here we come! Well, here my wife comes at least.

I'd also Try Your local wholesale warehouse stores such as Costco or Sam's club

Though they do only sell the system in bundles their bundles are usually pretty good in price range (like $20 to $50 under the total price of all the item included). Most of those bundles come with a game and an extra controller.

And remember some wholesale stores don't put a new shipment of Wii's out on the floor immediately. Ask a manager to check if they have any in the electronic merchandise pickup area. That is how I got my console.

You're too close to the sensor bar.

I've realized that Brawl really isn't a game that you can rent, you have to buy it.

I rented it yesterday, it's pretty freakin' awesome. I still REALLY suck (I can't beat 3 computers in Brawl mode), but it's still a lot of fun. I haven't done any online play yet, though. I'll probably do that tonight.

If you haven't gotten it yet, or at least played it, GO OUT AND BUY THE GAME!

Ummmmmm, yea I play no where near the sensor bar. I mean my apartment is small and everything but I play on my couch which is at least 10 feet from my TV set.
