Nrthwnd Posted October 5, 2007 Author Posted October 5, 2007 ^ I love the nametags collection, John! One of my eBay Disney pin sellers bought and had engraved, one of the Disneyland "little Monsters 2004" nametags, with my first name on it! So cool to have something like that, even if I didn't really go to the event, heh heh. But yours are even better! And - I had to share this... I just got these two pins on eBay auctions. Second I actually 'Buy It Now"... bought, heh heh. I just loved the Sinbad ride at TDS and wanted to ride it again and again, when I go there again...and again. the score is so great and happy, and the main singer is just superb. Not to mention a sweet Not-Too-Small-World attraction worth repeating. Maybe it's beacuase I can't remember the Japanese lyrics, heh heh. "It's - an Arabian World - After All..." (Edit: I know these aren't "theme park souvenirs"... But I decided not to f around looking for the pins thread! And the Sinbad poster pin is "theme park related", lol. ) Ah Sinbad. I loved it, even though it's much MUCH happier now in a new storyline to it. Mmmmm nice. And I get a "pin easel" for displaying it! Kewl. (o: I have a couple of other "1/4-ed" (what I call) kinds of pins. I liked this one. So, I won it, lol.
texcoaster Posted October 8, 2007 Posted October 8, 2007 I've got a bunch of t-shirts, mostly, and LOTS of pictures. I've got a map of Astroworld from 1968, the first year I went there. ..and my favorite stuff: a piece of steel track rail, an upright, and a section of handrail from the TxCyclone In the background is a collection of pics of TC, and just out of the shot is a certificate of authenticity.
pianojohn Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 While I am not a pin collector per se, my partner picked up a few framed ones when he worked at Tokyo DisneySeas. Check 'em out! I LOVED this show: The Porto Paradiso Water Carnival. Amazing park....wish they could afford to build one in the states! New Year's Day 2004
KerryB Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 I love this thread!! I'm from a long line of collectors...or pack rats...or something. Anyway, I used to buy Tshirts and such but that got too expensive and took up too much space traveling. A couple of years ago I planned my own coaster road trip with many side trips along the way. I took hold of the smashed penny collection and added decks of playing cards. I now try to get one of each everywhere I go...the cards are really pretty cool and they take up next to no space on a trip. If I ever have a display set up, I'll try to post a picture. I'm just not that organized right now!
downunder Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 I've got an "I Rode It!" button from 2003 for Top Thrill Dragster, it seems not too many people rode Dragster that year.
Nrthwnd Posted October 9, 2007 Author Posted October 9, 2007 ^^^ All the framed pin sets look lovely, John. Do you have them up in your home, somewhere for friends and guests to see? My stuff is everywhere, all over our home, and I try to display a souvenir in a spot that "fits to it" and vice versa, lol. My David doesn't seem to mind, and I try not to overdo, etc. Still - there's a lottta stored stuff/crap/precious here....
cygnusx1 Posted October 10, 2007 Posted October 10, 2007 I have a small statue of two sharks from SeaWorld San Antonio and a baseball from Schlitterbahn New Braunfels, both of which I bought this year. The baseball has pictures of the Master Blaster, the Hillside Tube Chutes, and a couple other things from Schlitterbahn. I keep both of them on my desk at work.
Nrthwnd Posted October 10, 2007 Author Posted October 10, 2007 ^ I don't have work to do it, with, but I usually keep some of the recently-aquired souvenirs "around," so as to remind me of the good times, the fun times.... Currently, I have Scary Teddy-A-Mania happening around my pc desk, heh heh. Gotta love a little sidekick who chomps on light bulbs and cords, AND plays a mean harpsichord piano, too! (Haunted Mansion NBC overlay, lol) ^ The baseball sounds very different. Can you take and post a photo of it. I would love to see it, and how it looks.
ECZenith Posted October 13, 2007 Posted October 13, 2007 I've got a theme park pin collection with hundreds of pins from around the country and overseas. My favorite pins are the ones from Tokyo Disney Sea, I have Tower Of Terror, Raging Spirits, Journey To The Center Of The Earth, Stormrider, Indana Jones and a bunch more from the park. I'll have to take photos sometime.
Nrthwnd Posted October 14, 2007 Author Posted October 14, 2007 ^ Looking forward to seeing those pins! I didn't get to really check out the pin selection when I was at TDR. I only got a pin that was for Disney Sea's 6th Anny; and a few of the Halloween and HM/NBC pins that were available at TDL, starting that week. But - I found this great candy dish being sold at one of the shops in the small "Cape Cod" part of the park. Which I found strange, since I expected this kind of thing to be sold at a shop in Port Discovery! Oh well, I saw it, loved it as just a reasonably-priced tabletop thing (it rolls too), THEN found out there was CANDY inside of it (cool) and immediately wanted it, LOL! And so I got it and it packed up nicely for the return trip home. And I have almost finished the individually-wrapped apple candies inside of it, LOL! Here's the candy dish, with Disney's Favorite Mouse in the (sort of) driver's seat, LOL!
Nrthwnd Posted November 2, 2007 Author Posted November 2, 2007 Couldn't resist. Just bought three XL buttons, of TDL's annual NBC overlay of the Haunted Mansion. 2005 - 2006 - 2007 I love it. When I was there with TPR in Sept., I got the coffee cup, the t-shirt, pins, a pen... but not the XL button. Now, I got it (GRIN). Here's last year's button. Anything (usually) with Scary Teddy on it gets my attention, lol. This is the button for 2005.
Nrthwnd Posted March 3, 2009 Author Posted March 3, 2009 Thought I would BUMP this, and re-name the thread, as I still like to collect certain particular things from a park or two, and I haven't "shared" in this thread for a year or so. And I know there must be some others of you out there, who go for specific things like fridge magnets, cups, pins, t-shirts, from your fave parks or from tours like I've been on... and on and on and... Am posting a photo here now, from my last tour with TPR, the Mini-Europe tour back in June/July last year (omg has it already been that long since...?). Part of what I brought back, but also what I 'added' to what I already have a few others of... Need to scan first, so will show in my next posting. Lots of stuff there. T-shirts and keychains and CDs, oh my!
montezooma Posted March 3, 2009 Posted March 3, 2009 Bill you should be the official TPR Pack Rat. You save everything as a souvenir. All your stuff would be great as decor if "TGIF's" ever did a knock off restaurant called "TPR's"
Crazy_Behemoth_Lady_Jess Posted March 3, 2009 Posted March 3, 2009 Lets see... I have a Behemoth shirt from Canada's Wonderland (2008), lots of souvineer photos from my home park Playland, on ride photo of me and my cousins on Behemoth again from Canada's Wonderland, a pair of boardshorts from Canada's Wonderland's splash works swimsuit store (bought 2 years ago), a Playland shirt from few years ago. I don't own any parts of "to be scrapped" coasters or rides which I know some people collect.
