Freefall Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 (edited) This is my 1st NoLimits coaster... well the 1st one that works anyway. Its kina a B/M style but not a rip-off and not up to that quality but at least its not a standard drop, loop, dive loop, camelback, cobra roll ect Download available!! Sky Dive.nltrack As you can see most of the track is under the main suports 1st drop under cobra roll Edited November 11, 2010 by mcjaco
phazan Posted November 30, 2005 Posted November 30, 2005 it was pretty good for a first nolimits coaster. there were a few spots were the train came too close to the supports. i really like that you put custom supports on your first coaster! also, the turns at the end looked a little too over-banked. and were those inversions custom? or were they pre-made?
ShoubraStreet74 Posted November 30, 2005 Posted November 30, 2005 Great job for a first coaster! ..although I did get smacked in the face by supports a few times
Freefall Posted November 30, 2005 Author Posted November 30, 2005 Wow thanks for riding my coaster Everythings custom I've only just found out about the predone stuff so as you can guess it took ages to iron every little crease out of it, yeah you do get smacked in the face alot but its all part of the fun And momo1tx with a name like that you cant talk ... unless thats ment to meen somthing? O and yeah maybe there are some rather mear misses/causulties I'll have to iron out beffor putting it on this track pack that robs thinking about making, hint hint
willski Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 It was ok, but pretty rough and you need to heartline it badly. There were way too many support collisions, plus half of the supports were prefab (never use prefab anything, track or supports). Also, the layout was really odd (but unique), and B&M coasters never have inverted-U supports at the peak of their inversions. For your first coaster though, this wasn't bad, you did a nice job.
Freefall Posted December 5, 2005 Author Posted December 5, 2005 Thanx for your constructive critisisum willski! But please explain what you mean by: you need to heartline it badly half of the supports were prefab I guess you mean premade but you could be forgiven into thinging 1/2 of them were because my suports look so good:D I know its hardly a B+M but then again they have never put a camel back over a loop and to be frank when they see this they will be putting them everwhere!
willski Posted December 6, 2005 Posted December 6, 2005 Prefab=support given to you with the game (appears in yellow, not red or blue). Generally, you'd want to make your own supports, as the prefab ones aren't very realistic in some situations. Look at real supports and you'll notice that they have flanges (steel pieces jutting out with bolts in them to hold the pieces together). A good example of this can be found on Goliath at Walibi World (pics here on TPR). You can look at my Route 66 coaster for a good idea of what flanges in NL look like. You can also download an AutoFlanger that will make the flanges for you (it can be found at www.coastercandy.com). Heartlining involves rotating the track around the riders' heartline (or mid-chest area) to minimize G-forces and usually headbanging. Think of it this way: Take a pencil and poke it through a piece of paper. This is your heartline. Draw a flat line an inch below your pencil hole. Now, take the paper and spin it around the pencil. Notice how the pencil (heartline) moves very little, but the line (track) moves a lot around the heartline? This is a very basic heartline roll that you have just made. You also apply this heartlining to every other track piece, including turns and most inversions. To display the heartline in NL, simply go to---->Display---->Show Heartline (make sure it is checked). This will display the heartline as a yellow line above/below the track (depending on the coaster type). You may have to check "Show Heartline" for every view. Hope that helps (PM me if you need help with anything, I'd be glad to help you). EDIT: Also, Con Roll (short for continuous roll) will help the banking and flow of your ride be smoother.
coasterfreak101 Posted December 6, 2005 Posted December 6, 2005 I liked the ride, a few out of place supports, but very original!!! And you know, I just love ROLLER ROASTERS
Hattuchili Posted December 6, 2005 Posted December 6, 2005 Roller Roaster! :? However, good job! --Sören
Freefall Posted December 7, 2005 Author Posted December 7, 2005 Kool thanx for everyones input hope you enjoyed riding and i hope no one put there hands up , thanx expecialy to willski great tips, tho i have noticed with B+M suports they tend not to have bends in them they like to have powerful ones looking ones going right down to the ground or two going to the ground as apose to having another one spouting 1/2 way down watch this space for my next Roller Roaster NIGHTMARE!!!! (AKA Nemesis)
willski Posted December 7, 2005 Posted December 7, 2005 Usually, when you make B&M supports, you tend to use 4-6 segments of support, for Intamins, it's a lot more. With any supports, you just want to avoid making 2 supports go straight down from the track connector. Just lok at pictures of real coasters on rcdb.com and emulate their style.
benzo41190 Posted December 8, 2005 Posted December 8, 2005 very nice job! I should find some of my first coaster with no limits and see how they compare to some that I make now. I remeber the first one i made had a triangle turn that was flat  nice job...cant wait for more rides from you.
CP_RULES Posted February 26, 2006 Posted February 26, 2006 It is very unique. I think this is the main reason I like it. Howver it could use some major touch ups.
