Knott's Berry Farm- Repainting Rides

I've been going to Knott's about once every

3 months or so. Everytime I've been going I've noticed that they are repainting thier rides new colors. Whats up with that. They have repainted Dragon Swing, Boomerang, Jaguar and Montezooma's Revenge. Last I heard, they repainted Silver Bullet already. Any

explanation for this?

They repainted Boomerang, Jaguar!, and Montezooma's Revenge last year or the year before, I believe. I hadn't heard about Silver Bullet, though.

 

Rides need to be repainted more often because new formulations of them (without lead) don't hold their color very long. My guess is that since rides need repainting anyway, Knott's chooses to give them new colors. That does make them look new, which pleases guests.

The reason I was thinking this question was because I found out that they rpainted Silver Bullet from someone who just recently went.

I bet they haven't repainted Xcelerator yet since it opened in 2001.

^ Xcelerator opened in 2002, and, no, they haven't repainted it. But it has faded very badly.

I'm afraid that they'll end up repainting it purple and green like how they painted Boomerang. They can at least repaint it the same coor to make it look new again.

If they are going to keep repainting their rides they should at least do some work with Supreme Scream because the color just doesn't fit in. I also think they should do something to get that third tower up and running again.

Right! Superman at SFA is looking like a "Gurly Mahn" now all pretty pink.

 

Oh, wait, isn't pink the trendy new frat boy color or something? :shock: I swear, wherever I go now, I see little "I Know I'm Such A Stud" boys with their pink shirts and collars turned up. So glad I'm out of the whole fashion loop thing!

Intamin's powder coating seems to be the absolute worst at holding color.

 

Wicked Twister, Millennium Force and Dragster are all horibly faded.
