Question about first Cedar Point Trip

I'm confused by what's going on here... so you already have plane tickets to Florida?

What on earth?

No. I have plane tickets that will expire by May 2025. I don’t know  if I can get them extended.

I was answering the guy who asked if I had made a decision and then I got lots of good feedback when I explained I may go somewhere else this summer :)

For what it is worth, I am planning a trip to cedar point a few weeks from now. I am planning to stop by waldameer on my way over and get to CP sunday afternoon/ evening, spending all day monday there before heading to KI.

I am hoping it won't be too busy, though may get a flash pass if i need to and almost hoping dragster doesn't reopen and draw crowds of people.

There are so many coasters i love that it is worth it even if the big one trick pony (is it 2 or 3 tricks now) isn't up and running.

The late summer breeze off the lake should be nice this time of year.

Tell me how it goes! What’s your top three rides in the park? I was able to get my plane tickets extended so hallelujah! I will be using the advice I got here for my 2025 trip for sure.

I may still go to BGT this year as I’m kind of pumped to go somewhere. But I’m not sure if I will or not. I’ll make a separate thread if i do.

Thanks for everything guys ❤️

Damn bruh. Just pull the trigger. You'll have fun, regardless.

I think you misunderstood me, or I misunderstand you lol. I feel I have pulled the trigger because I have my tickets extended through 2025. I feel a lot better about just giving up on going this year and giving them time to work on TT2. I’m thinking first week of June that has 9-10pm as the hours. Unfortunately breakers wouldn’t let me schedule that far.

Buch gardens is kind of a separate thing. I’m kinda waiting to see about the Hurricane and Kumba is having its maintenance from the 12th to 25th. I love how open they are about that on their website!

Super helpful just like you guys!  Ride on

Sorry to revive a dead thread but I am currently arriving at the breakers June 15th and leaving on the 19th(a Thursday). So basically three and a half days at the park.

I'm thinking about maybe getting an extra day and arriving Saturday. With the hopes that June 15th(Sunday) will be a slow day to kinda chill and ride some stuff without rushing around.

One of my buddies said 3 and half days is more than enough but I wanna absolutely feast on the rides. Just two or three rides on one coaster isn’t nearly enough for me. And then you’ve got Sirens curse and TT2 which are going to draw heavy wait times. A couple of really good flat rides too

Also I’m on the spectrum so sometimes I need a bit of downtime. I would go arrive on June 15-20 but sadly that specific room is booked up

Going backwards to a Sunday is the only option for now. What do you guys think?

The 15th to the 19th should be more then enough time to knock out all the rides you want. Your legs will be more tired then anything. Its a pretty big park. You might as well spend the  money on a Fast lane for one day and not an extra hotel stay.

You can knock a few rides out the first hour of the day or the last few hours of the night on the weekdays. I think after your first day you can get a good idea what ride you want to go wait for first thing in the morning. Like one day try to do one or 2 rides on MF the next day get in line and wait the hour for Steel Vengeance to open Things like that.  A week Day if your lucky could do Maverick and Steel Vengeance in the first hour of opening then Sky hawk, Can knock the back part of the park out pretty quickly

@Mustangman55This is the answer right here.  The only advantage of booking an extra day is insurance against foul weather.

Thanks! I think some of my trepidation comes from there being two new rides if we count TT2(god willing it works). I’m also on the spectrum and like taking things kind of slow as I can be overwhelmed. But at the same time I really want to feel like I can ride as much as I want as I’m quite sure I’ll love the rides. I think I see a fast lane plus in my future regardless of how many days I stay. What is your personal anecdotal experience with Sunday crowds?  I’m not trying to be a bother just wondering how it compares to weekdays or if it’s more of a Saturday experience.

As a disclaimer I know you absolutely can’t guarantee me anything

In my experience, Sunday crowds will be less than Saturday but busier than a weekday.

Check this calendar for last June: https://queue-times.com/en-US/parks/50/calendar/2024/06

You can also change the year at the top to look at historical trends (but don't count 2021 since some COVID restrictions were still in effect).

They also have predictions for this coming June but I have no idea how they arrive at those predictions.

So are you saying in your experience week days are actually MORE busy than Sunday? That’s wild. I was hoping Mon-Wed would be fairly good

Sorry, I misphrased that.  Sunday crowds should be between a Saturday and typical weekday.  I'll edit my original post to clarify.

I look as this time as early summer so it wont be as busy as July. I think Michigan schools will just be getting out around that time and I think New York is still in or about to finish the week of your visit.  Sunday will be less busy then Sunday and could see it getting less crowed as the day goes on. People who stayed on Property might start leaving to get back home. Weather can always play a factor could be amazing could just be crap. If the weather looks crappy on Sunday might get a low crowed afternoon or any of your days really.

You will have more then enough time to relax and still ride everything you want.

Last point is we still have no idea when Siren's Curse will be opening. Just something to think about.

That's true! We have decided since this is a really a trip I have been waiting for all my life we broke down and splurged on a nicer room.

So we will be arriving Sunday afternoon and then leaving Friday! So the only thing that can bring me down is if the rides are down. Tony said he expects sirens curse to be apart of cosstermania and that's June 6th. I know the word "expects" isn't definitive but I'm hoping for.

Super excited. The only thing that can bring me down is the rides being down

Agreed. Save it for a Monday or Tuesday to get the most out of it, even if it means waiting in long lines on Saturday and Sunday. There really aren't many slow days at CP.

Dang. That's a legit tool. Looks like it's predicted to be quiet on my 40th birthday trip, too.

A busy Day at some other parks might be a less crowed day at Cedar point. I feel like Kings Island and Cedar point busy level is on a different level then a lot of other parks.

Thank you Prozac. I think my plan is do both. Atleast in this moment 4 days sounds like appealing insurance if a ride goes down or bad weather. Also the more I look the more interested in the waterpark I become. I will think about it but hopefully I can do fast lane a few days as well.

currently arriving Sunday and leaving Friday the 20th of June

I think you can find just about everything the water park has to offer at other water parks. I wouldn't waste your time, unless you just want a break from the dry park.

Most waterparks don't have swim-up bars. :)
