cfc
Still my favorite theme park on the planet! The truth has been spoken. Sounds like the "Finding Nemo" makeover has worked out well for the old Stormrider attraction.
SharkTums
Love the additions on Aquatopia! I didn't realize they had done that. KT is dying to know, did you happen to catch any Ocean Sunfish in the Nemo ride, queue, preshow, anything? He's in the movie for about 5 seconds and she's holding out hope that he'll show up! jedimaster1227
It was difficult to document inside as the cast try to keep photography and videography to a minimum but I do believe I remember seeing the silhouette of the ocean sunfish on the back wall (I'm not 100% but I believe I pointed it out when we were there). It isn't pictured here but there are silhouettes on both sides of the queue. I also vaguely remember seeing the animated silhouette of one in the preshow... I don't want to promise anything since it has been so many months since I saw it first hand but I do believe she'd be pleasantly surprised one way or another at least in the queue. I don't remember seeing anything like it during the ride though. Edited January 12, 2018 by jedimaster1227
SharkTums
Good to know, thanks! He actually was assigned a name in the movie (Charlie BackandForth) so we were hopeful!

Nrthwnd
I love your seeking out, and finding those little 'extras' in Disney themeing, as only Disney can do it. And Oriental Land Co. Great ongoing TR, Adam! Glad to see you had such a great time, there. (And yes, my last visit there ~2013~ I lamented the extreme lack of original Japan ToT merchandise, compared to the previous two visits there. Sad, but at least, the little Shiriki Utundu on a chain is still selling. Got mine in 2011.) Where my Shiriki hangs - constantly staring at me, at my computer. p-sychiatrist
These pictures are amazing!! I never even saw the Cape Cod section before, there's too much beauty to keep track of! I recently moved to Japan and live an hour away from TDR, but I haven't gone yet because I'm saving up for an annual passport. This trip report is torture. A few weeks ago I was riding the train home at night and I had to fight the urge to get off at Maihama Station when I heard the small world jingle. jedimaster1227
^I’d tell you to get out to these parks as soon as you can! If you’re going to be living as close as you are, it makes sense to go as much as possible thanks to all of the different events throughout the year... Waiting just means less time to experience it all!
Nrthwnd
These pictures are amazing!! I never even saw the Cape Cod section before.... The Cape Cod "hill" is one of my favourite go-to quiet spots in the park. I'm sure a lot of gp think that the lighthouse is just theming, and not an actual spot you can go up to, sit down, and just relax for awhile. If you’re going to be living as close as you are, it makes sense to go as much as possible thanks to all of the different events throughout the year... Waiting just means less time to experience it all! I'll be here for at least 18 months, so I'll be able to make it to all the seasonal events and I definitely don't want to miss out on Easter, Tanabata Days, Pirates Summer, Halloween, or Christmas! Once I get the pass I'll probably be at the resort 2 or 3 times each month just tryin to be a responsible adult and get my finances in order before i splurge 93,000 yen (about $840), at the same time i totally get your argument and might squeeze in a quick visit beforehand The Cape Cod "hill" is one of my favourite go-to quiet spots in the park. I'm sure a lot of gp think that the lighthouse is just theming, and not an actual spot you can go up to, sit down, and just relax for awhile. I definitely plan to relax there, especially if it's a busy day!! I'll let you know when I visit!

jedimaster1227
Our final day at the Tokyo Disney Resort was spent at Tokyo Disneyland... The Tokyo Disney Resort Monorail line is incredibly convenient and a great way to start off our final Disney day! I tried the Shrimp & Egg Spring Roll... Not my favorite snack of the trip but not bad either. Just as fun here! Goofy's Paint 'n' Play House is kind of like a cross between Toy Story Mania and Colortopia (at Epcot). You use a Toy Story Mania-style gun to spray paint at the walls... One more polite morning stampede! I made it a point to check out Splash Mountain thanks to its unique queue... The inside is pretty much the same as the one in Florida... Which isn't a bad thing. Everything is satisfactual! I got a little wet. I absolutely adore this castle. Toontown is just as awesome in Tokyo as it is in California! The entire house transforms by the end of the experience! It was neat to see Mickey's house since Florida's ToonTown has long since been gone. I wasn't going to pass up an opportunity to experience another Haunted Mansion! It looks very familiar! Fanta Melon is on tap throughout the resort and I love it! I'd dreamed of this moment for so long. And the curry did not disappoint! It was one of my favorite quick service meals of the trip! Mochi bites! We absolutely loved this version of Big Thunder Mountain! And the close call with the Western River Railroad is a nice touch! It is very neat that they actually give you a map to use when exploring Tom Sawyer Island that you can take with you after your visit. And in English! The extra thematic elements along the Rivers of America are definitely appreciated! Fort Sam Clemens is open in Tokyo... It doesn't exist in Florida and it hasn't been open in California for decades. This was surreal to actually be able to walk into... They even have a Canteen open with snacks available to purchase! They even have the Indian Village! The Beaver Brothers Explorer Canoes were another great experience! We had to see Happiness is Here one more time during our trip... Such a fun parade! So many options! MELON BREAD!!! More unique entertainment in the parks! I love this. The Tokyo Disneyland Hotel is grand as can be. This atrium is gorgeous! The Tokyo Disneyland/Tokyo Disneyland Hotel monorail station. Bon Voyage gifts... We visited during the Tanabata Days Festival, where all guests are given the opportunity to write their wish on a card... That wish can then be tied to one of the park's Tanabata posts. I love that the Japanese love Disney parks music so much that these CDs are still sold en masse. More redemption games that even if you lose, you win a pin. So awesome seeing this while on the Western River Railroad. The traditional Frontierland cabin and it isn't on fire... Another Indian village...
jedimaster1227
(Continued) The way the Western River Railroad weaves through the park is very different than the railroads found in the other Disney parks. But it was a pleasant surprise to find the Primeval World Diorama recreated here just like it is found in Disneyland. Shades of Ellen's Energy Adventure. We loved Tokyo's Jungle Cruise! We went back and rode Big Thunder Mountain several more times before the end of the day. The new Camp Woodchuck Kitchen features waffle sandwiches and this one didn't disappoint! Did I mention I love this castle? Tokyo's Tomorrowland featured the vintage Star Jets. The closed permanently only a few months after our visit to make way for an expanded Fantasyland, Toontown and Tomorrowland. An alternate universe Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe. In case you were wondering what the menu at a standard Tokyo Disneyland quick service venue is like. No Sonny Eclipse here. Sadly we didn't get to ride during our visit but it was neat to see. I don't remember the Star Jets when they operated in Florida, so it was nice to see something so differently themed when compared to the modern Astro Orbiter. And we're moving on... The walls were already up along a portion of Tomorrowland and Toontown to allow for the ongoing expansion work to continue. Sadly Space Mountain was not open during our visit. More unique performers throughout the park! The classic Tomorrowland aesthetic is completed by the more modern paint job. I'd be totally ok with this setup being brought back to Florida. Time to see Dreamlights one more time! The floats are insanely impressive... And they can do cool things like this! You can tell which floats have been refreshed recently. I love this Pete's Dragon float way more than the one that ran with the original Main Street Electrical Parade. The Genie still has the most impressive float of the parade. So many forms. So many characters. Even a nod to the original character design concept when the Genie was green instead of blue. A newer float... Another newer float. The finale of Dreamlights is overwhelmingly beautiful. The river boat float starts in black & white and transforms into full color along the parade route. Gorgeous. Inspired by the classic Disney ride "it's a small world." And now its time to say goodbye... To all our company... MIC---See ya real soon! I ended up using the parkhopper access to go back into Tokyo DisneySea one more time for some merchandise and photos. Saying goodbye wasn't easy. The resort is so beautiful at any time of day. A look at the construction of the new Beauty and the Beast-inspired expansion coming to Tokyo DisneySea. Even more construction. For our final Disney day of the trip we stopped into Ikspiarai for lunch... Ikspiriari Kitchen provided us another incredible meal. Coca Cola Plus sounds like a unique concept, though I don't see it coming stateside. The (awesome) view from our hotel room at the Sheraton Tokyo Bay. A look at the entry plaza for the Disney Store location at Ikspiari. The Maihama Theater used to house the Cirque du Soleil show Zed. The show closed permanently shortly after the earthqueak as attendance/ticket sales had reportedly declined. Ikspiriari has a really unique corridor near the movie theater with these indoor facades. A nice touch! One more sushi bundle before we move on. The monorail was themed to Nemo & Friends SeaRider during our visit. Time to say... Goodbye Tokyo Disney!
