nemesis-storm Posted October 14, 2005 Posted October 14, 2005 Daniel Craig has been announced as the new James Bond http://www.empireonline.co.uk/news/story.asp?NID=17236 I'm not sure how good he will be. Paul 'Brosnan was best' Chapman
SharkTums Posted October 14, 2005 Posted October 14, 2005 Yeah, I really liked Pierce...not too sure about this guy yet, but we'll see how he does.
jackskellington101 Posted October 14, 2005 Posted October 14, 2005 Same here. I thought Pierce encapsulated the character nicely. The stories were kind of lame but he did amazingly as the character. This new guy, don't know. Layer Cake was a dang fine movie, but Bond? Who knows?
Thrasher Posted October 14, 2005 Posted October 14, 2005 I havent seen any movies that this guy has been in. I guess ill reserve my comments for when the movie comes out. It would be wrong to judge him based on past actors.
FlyingScooter Posted October 14, 2005 Posted October 14, 2005 Speaking of Brosnan, have any of you seen the movie Nomads (with Adam Ant?) I thought movie was great, but hardly anyone has heard of it. Yes, he made a very good Bond.
chauncey Posted October 14, 2005 Posted October 14, 2005 This guy will make a terrible Bond. He doesn't look like a dashing secretagent, he looks like a ruggedly handsome crimelord, or something. And blonde? Besides, none of this stuff sounds very exciting. "Less gadgets..." "You'll learn about his martini mix..." What? "You'll learn how he mixes his martini" Doesn't he "shake it" rather than "stir it"? Is it really more complicated than that? If so, does it matter? "No Q, or Moneypenny" Huh? This is going to be the worst Bond movie ever! I love the original, true, Casino Royal though. "Peter Sellers was the best Bond!"
Hattuchili Posted October 14, 2005 Posted October 14, 2005 Oh, he looks more like a bad guy for a Bond movie, not really like James Bond! However, we will see. --Sören
Mr.Six Posted October 14, 2005 Posted October 14, 2005 ^ I was thinking the same thing! He looks like a bad guy. Anyway, the thing that I'm dissapointed about is no Q or moneypenny. I just don't understand why they aren't in it _six
robbalvey Posted October 14, 2005 Posted October 14, 2005 Having worked with the "Bond People" on two projects (Tomorrow Never Dies and The World Is Not Enough) the one thing I can say is 'expect surprises.' It should be an interesting film to say the least. --Robb
Erik Johnson Posted October 14, 2005 Posted October 14, 2005 (edited) As a lifetime fan of the series I think that the new choice will be good. I am glad they are going to give Casino Royale its proper treatment. Plus they got the director from Goldeneye to do this one. Daniel Craig is mostly known for playing no-so-nice gritty characters, check out Layer Cake and you will see what I mean. I thought Pierce was a great Bond, even though I did not care a whole lot for Tomorrow Never Dies and Die Another Day. Edited October 16, 2005 by Erik Johnson
Canadmos Posted October 15, 2005 Posted October 15, 2005 I don't think this new guy will be as good as the previous Bonds. I think a much better choice would have been Clive Owen.
