Twisted Colossus Media Day!

So, for like the past week I've been asked over, and over, and over again..."How is it?" My response has been "I haven't ridden it yet.". "Wait, I saw [whoever] put up a report, they rode it before you?!!" "Didn't you get the commercial shoot?!!" NO! I did not get to ride it early AT ALL! Once I realized I wasn't going to ride early, or be a first rider, I was fine because I was going to media day. In my head "I'll ride it a bunch of times after the rider cam!" Um, I got ONE ride...ONE...which wouldn't be too bad, but it took five hours of standing in line, in the same spot, with people saying "You're next.". I actually was supposed to be on the first official train, but I was like "How can I take pictures of the opening ceremony and ride on the "first" train?". Really, I had told them that I was going to do the media stuff, and might not be able to do the marathon rider thing. Which actually I'm glad I chose to take pictures, because it's pretty much all the pictures that I got since I was unable to do anything besides stand in line for five hours. "You're next." The most amusing part was when they gave me a time and then apparently went to lunch...wonderful! By the time I got to do rider cam, the queue was empty, a few other media people had thrown in the towel and left, some left in preference for Disney media. I was like one of the last maybe 5 people, if even that. Did I mention I brought my daughter? You know, she just loves to stand in line for five hours and miss lunch because we were told to be there during lunch time.

 

Anyways, one ride, RMC is amazing! Six Flags may have treated me like crap, but Twisted Colossus was amazing! Equally as good as Medusa, not as intense, but more elements and a longer ride. I might give Outlaw Run the edge as my favorite RMC, but still this will go right into my top ten. Okay, very few pictures, I missed the KWERK show preview, Scream, street performers, pretty much everything..."You're next.". So, here is the report, officially retiring from SFMM media crap, here's some pictures, oh and...you're next! Yeah, right.

My partner for rider cam. So excited at 10am (our ride time), not so happy at after 3pm (when we actually rod). But, don't worry the radio station got their ride first, because you know how you can see video over the radio.

So, there you have it. Despite my terrible experience, Twisted Colossus is awesome! Go ride it! Make plans for West Coast Bash! RMC has another great coaster. Thanks for looking, leave a comment. You're next, I promise.

Sounds like Magic Mountain is up to it's old tricks. lol

 

The new area looks great though (even though Scream still has a parking lot under it). I can't wait to try out the new coaster one day.

Sorry you had a bad media day experience, that sucks. Shows that SFMM is still a dysfunctional park even though they have some awesome rides and Twisted Colossus looks an amazing addition to the lineup. You took some amazing pictures though. I had a friend that went during the commercial shoot on Tuesday and she got on 17 rides. I'm hoping to go next week on a Tuesday or Wednesday when hopefully it will be a little less crowded and finally get on TC.

Glad you finally got on the ride, but I'm surprised this happened on media day! The same thing happened to a few of us during the filming days (particularly Tuesday's filming), but I figured they wouldn't pull that on Media Day :/
