dandaman Posted October 5, 2005 Posted October 5, 2005 (edited) It's baaaaaaaaaaack! Post comments, disses, or general team spirit here. I'll start: GO LEAFS GO! *Note: I might also potentially end this thread... Edited October 5, 2005 by dandaman
crispy Posted October 5, 2005 Posted October 5, 2005 I guess I'm a Sharks fan, but they seriously lost my intrest in during the lockout they should have taken a note from MLB, and just played, and worked on the $$ in the background, hopefully the lockout won't kill the sport, but it will take time to fully come back
dandaman Posted October 5, 2005 Author Posted October 5, 2005 If anything, I'd say the sport is still going strong up North. I'm quite interested in the new changes/rules this season... such as "no icing". Seems like that'll really pick up the speed of the games.
coasterguy618 Posted October 5, 2005 Posted October 5, 2005 Flyers are going to win it this year. WIth Peter FOrsberg, they'll be unstoppable! I mean they were 5-0 in the preseason without Peter Forsberg (well it dosnt count but so what). GO FLYERS!
BelizeIt Posted October 6, 2005 Posted October 6, 2005 There are a lot of Rule Changes this Year! Hopefully it should be for the better. Nothing sucks worse than a Stupid-Ass Lock Out! How Pathetic is this Sport that they have to take an Entire Season Off!!! Give me a Break! The NHL will have to fight hard to win back many Disgruntled Fans! I hope they Succeed! If you've ever gone to a game, you know how great it is! Go Ducks!!!
Canadmos Posted October 6, 2005 Posted October 6, 2005 I'll start: GO LEAFS GO! Hell yeah!! Shame they already lost and that Sundin was injured I'm still not a big fan of the shootout thing, I don't think a shootout can or ever will replace the heartpounding thrills of watching a team duke it out in overtime  The NHL will have to fight hard to win back many Disgruntled Fans! I don't think it will be that hard, and from the looks of it last night during all the game most if not all the fans are back
niiicolaaah Posted October 6, 2005 Posted October 6, 2005 woooot ! sabres beat the islanders! this will be their only win of the season!
dandaman Posted October 6, 2005 Author Posted October 6, 2005 I'm still not a big fan of the shootout thing, I don't think a shootout can or ever will replace the heartpounding thrills of watching a team duke it out in overtime  Agreed. Sudden death is the single most exciting part of a game, IMO.
Sir Clinksalot Posted October 6, 2005 Posted October 6, 2005 I'm just hoping for some sweet ticket deals to get me back!!!
derwood Posted October 7, 2005 Posted October 7, 2005 Go Habs! We'll see if Comcast can actually take my Center Ice order without screwing up my entire account.
Scaparri Posted October 7, 2005 Posted October 7, 2005 I couldn't be happier to see it back. I think the rule changes are going to be great for the game and I hope that the fans can put everything in the past and help the league be successful. It was already in enough trouble before. Hopefully, it won't suffer too much this year. I can't be happier though. I've missed the NHL a lot. As for me, I bleed BLUE! Unfortunately, St. Louis did less than stellar with the salary cap. We didn't resign Demitra (dumb move), we traded Pronger (just as dumb of a move), and McInnis retired (not our fault, but would have helped if we had actually taken advantage of the loss Demitra and signed somebody). Plus, the franchise is for sale and we're losing sponsorship from Savvis. Things are indeed kind of looking blue, but I still have a lot of hope. Overall, I'm just glad they are back. Can't wait to go see a game. Go BLUES!!
Jonathan Posted October 8, 2005 Posted October 8, 2005 Welcome to the NHL Sid! Amazing home opener for the Hurricanes tonight, as Cam Ward made his first career NHL start, and made the winning save on Crosby in a shootout. I'm loving the way the game has opened up so far thanks to the stricter rule enforcement.
dandaman Posted October 8, 2005 Author Posted October 8, 2005 They're saying that Sundin is out for about 4-6 weeks. Welcome back! You survived 16 months of being unemployed! And now... *WHAM*
