ParkTrips Posted October 1, 2005 Posted October 1, 2005 Here are a few photos I'll share from my trip tonight. Our main goal of the evening was to have a few drinks and waste some money. We did both with success 8) The only reason I'm even sharing is because some sweet photos came out. Take a look!! No fair would be complete without a mullet, and being in Georgia we had tons of them!! Of course I had to take a photo A pretty sweet pic of the yoyo The portable scrambler with the ride op who's day job is truck stop prostitution. yuck! 'nother pic with spinning lights. Weee!!! The Power Surge was the only decent ride at the freakin' fair and even at 3.75 a ride I was pissed since the cycle was half that of Knoebels' Here's their Fabrri tower. These things scare the hell out of me for ome reason. Perhaps its the akward catapult down. Perhaps its the stoned ride op, who knows? Overview of the bug-infested "midway". I wonder how about 95% of the attendees paid to go since welfare checks don't come out until the 1st... thanks for wasting your time reading this crap
ScOtT k Posted October 1, 2005 Posted October 1, 2005 (edited) fairs scare me. There's a fair in my area right now. It looks really creepy. They have a few of those bouncy airslide things. 2 of them had duct tape all over them! Edited October 1, 2005 by ScOtT k
ebl Posted October 1, 2005 Posted October 1, 2005 ^ "Duck" tape, huh? Is that to fix all the "quacks?" Eric
ScOtT k Posted October 1, 2005 Posted October 1, 2005 oh, sorry, I'm tired. I'm not the best at spelling. I usually make dumb mistakes when I'm rushed.
PhishyBrewer Posted October 1, 2005 Posted October 1, 2005 ^ "Duck" tape, huh? Is that to fix all the "quacks?" Eric Ohhhh geez Nice Photos! Thanks for sharing.
SharkTums Posted October 1, 2005 Posted October 1, 2005 2 Things... 1. I see Franklin as one of the prizes!!! Awesome!!! 2. This is no Wisconsin State Fair!!!!
ParkTrips Posted October 1, 2005 Author Posted October 1, 2005 Nothin' compares to the 41190th annual Wisconsin St. Fair. 'specially not one in little old Carrollton GA
Hercules Posted October 1, 2005 Posted October 1, 2005 Geeze Joe, you need to come up here to PA because the fair in my small hometown was better than this thing. We know how to do it up here. By the way, great pics, eventhough I still don't think that the Power Surge is that great of a ride.
AllisonY2K Posted October 1, 2005 Posted October 1, 2005 Nothin' compares to the 41190th annual Wisconsin St. Fair. nothing comes close. nice pics, btw.
Stitch Posted October 1, 2005 Posted October 1, 2005 Power Surge looks like a lot of fun, is it as fun as it looks or just disappointing?
Hercules Posted October 1, 2005 Posted October 1, 2005 No Power Surge has ever blown me away. I find the rides really boring, even the one with the very long cycle at Knoebels (which for me makes it even more boring). That is just me though and you definately wouldn't find me paying over 3 dollars for one. That is just plain looney.
ParkTrips Posted October 1, 2005 Author Posted October 1, 2005 Stitch, It, like the Jump^2s looks better than it actually rides, but I still think they are really fun! Jay, Yes that fair sucks but eh it's my hometown fair and I go twice a year (they do it in the spring too)
Hattuchili Posted October 1, 2005 Posted October 1, 2005 Nice photo TR. Thanks for posting. -> Our fair, here in Bremen, is from the 14 october - 30 october. Only a few weeks. I can not wait to go there! Link: Bremer Freimarkt (in english) --Sören
Hercules Posted October 1, 2005 Posted October 1, 2005 ^^ I get what you mean Joe. I still go to the fairs in my area no matter how crappy they are. Sometimes I really wonder why though. I was a big fair guy before I even became a park and coaster enthusiast, so I get where you are coming from. As far as the area of my school though, it is all about the Allentown Fair. If anyone has ever been there, they know what I'm talking about. I am planning on making it to the Pennsylvania State Fair next year. I still think that the Allentown fair will kick its butt though.
ParkTrips Posted October 1, 2005 Author Posted October 1, 2005 No fair you have an Olympia Looping going to your fair when all I have is a ring of fire German faires look awesome, I'd love to go to Germany for a few weeks one fall just to ride all those Schwarzkopfs 8)
Kroger8 Posted October 1, 2005 Posted October 1, 2005 Nice Pictures, I think having a drop tower at the fair would be awesome, and the drunk/stoned ride ops are what make it so much more intense! We had a Crazy Mouse at the SC Upper State Fair this year, its held around 1 or 2 miles away, too bad I didn't go...
benzo41190 Posted October 1, 2005 Posted October 1, 2005 That is still a cool fair even for its size. Those Fabbri drop towers are very intense. Its not like a Intamin Free Fall, it is like a sudden launch to the ground. Nice little fair, But the Wisconsin State Fair is cooler though
