Nrthwnd Posted April 15, 2016 Posted April 15, 2016 ^ Photo first. Then, gobble it all down, second. (BTW, I told David about this burger I was making, and he thought it was great, and wanted at least half of it! I did not know he liked this kind of "burger".)
Nrthwnd Posted April 15, 2016 Posted April 15, 2016 BUMP The Burger! Blast from The Past! The White Spot Double Double!
Nrthwnd Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 I Made My Very First Peanut Butter Burger! It wasn't that hard to make. The only real difficulty was figuring out what to put in the burger, besides the peanut butter. So... lettuce; Thai Chili Sauce; chunky style PB; dill pickle/sweet pickle; the bun! Since David wanted 1/2 of it, the pickles were the defining difference for us. He likes sweet pickles. I like sour dills. And, it was GOOD! I would even have it again, as long as it's not too messy. The other ingredients are gathered together. The burger is cooking away. That Portuguese bun is split and then toasted. Pickels: Mine (dill) and David's (sweet). Lettuce, the peanut butter, and yes that's.... Thai Sweet Chili Sauce! Lettuce on first, then the chili sauce is drizzled over it all. Yes, I'm a messy assembly "Arteest." (o; The burger right on top of the lettuce/sauce. The peanut butter gets schmeared on the meat. The pickles are added on top of that. Then the top of the bun. And then it gets cut. My half. (o: And it goes on the plate, with the rest of our dinner.
Philrad71 Posted April 30, 2016 Posted April 30, 2016 ^ Bill - the rolls look great! I am going to grill Wegmans (our local supermarket) bacon and cheese burgers tonight on Pepperidge Farms toasted onion buns. I may also throw a slab of our smoked cheese on there just for good measure! I will try to remember to take a photo...if I don't gobble it all down first! Forgot to post the photo!!! Bacon cheeseburger loaded with onions, drizzled with ranch and teriyaki sauce!
Philrad71 Posted April 30, 2016 Posted April 30, 2016 ^LOL....yes, it was quite sloppy! And to stay on the trail of sloppiness, how about a stop at Jack Brown's Beer & Burger Joint in Harrisonburg, VA? This is a small chain of burger joints in the VA, TN, AL area - looks like about nine locations in the three states. Menu Welcome to Jack Brown's Beer & Burger Joint! When you have a line of people waiting outside to get a table, you know it must be good! We waited about 1/2 hour as the place is VERY small, but we were able to walk around the nice looking historic downtown area while we waited. Here is the food menu. It's small...but oh, the choices! Speaking of choices, check out the crazy long bottled beer list! Both sides of the menu! Of course, burgers have to be accompanied by beer. That's probably why we never go to fast food burger joints that don't serve beer. Love places that serve crinkle cut fries. The accompanying sauce was like Thousand Island dressing with some spices - a much better alternative to ketchup! Burger #1 is The Elvis burger with peanut butter, mayo, bacon and cheese - you'll need plenty of napkins! Not the biggest burgers, but well enough for us. Nice and goopy! I got the Greg Brady that has mac & cheese with BBQ potato chips. After trying both, I preferred the Elvis burger, but both were very original burgers and quite tasty! If you're near an area that has a Jack Brown's, I would recommend a stop....good burger joint.
Nrthwnd Posted April 30, 2016 Posted April 30, 2016 And the burgers, crinkled fries and all of it, looks awesome, too!
Philrad71 Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 ^ It was funny how when we got back from the restaurant and told Michael's family that we just had burgers with mac & cheese, potato chips and peanut butter on them, most recoiled in horror that we would ever eat such a thing!
XII Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 If you're in Sacramento and want a really good burger, definitely check out the Squeeze Inn and get the Cheese Skirt Burger. It's really freaking good. Oh, and if you want to be healthy, there's always Heart Attack Grill. (Also good, but you can tell that this burger will kill you).
Philrad71 Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 ^^ I have had friends that visited the Heart Attack Grill in Vegas and they said that the quality of the food wasn't worth the exorbitant prices. But that Cheese Skirt Burger....wow.
Nrthwnd Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 What I had the other day, downtown at our local White Spot... A Truffled Mushroom Bigger Burger. It was good. Nothing I would have again. But I liked the cheese with the mushrooms. I have no idea if I tasted "truffles" on the mushrooms, or not. The fries of course, are always awesome, and you get free refills! It was good. Nothing more. Nothing less. A good burger.
Philrad71 Posted May 6, 2016 Posted May 6, 2016 ^ Bill, doesn't plopping a long pickle slice on top make the bun soggy if it sits for more than a minute? Other than that, the burger looks pretty tasty!
Nrthwnd Posted May 6, 2016 Posted May 6, 2016 ^ No Phil, see that itty bitty dark space between the pickle and the bun? Levitation.
Nrthwnd Posted May 8, 2016 Posted May 8, 2016 Mais Oui, there you are! Como Bread ~ Makes a great sandwich and/or burger bun.
Jew Posted May 8, 2016 Posted May 8, 2016 ^^ I have had friends that visited the Heart Attack Grill in Vegas and they said that the quality of the food wasn't worth the exorbitant prices. But that Cheese Skirt Burger....wow. Accurate

Was this a vegetarian burger? Hey so there's a dark brown circular patty under the cheese. It's a hamburger, you chucklehead. Also, a hamburger is made of meat just in case you were about to ask if a hamburger is vegetarian.
Nrthwnd Posted May 15, 2016 Posted May 15, 2016 ^ But, isn't a hamburger, a burger that's made of....ham? This is a fan-designed burger, called "The Graveyard" Burger....... It looks like a collision of things I can't even figure out and/or describe.
Philrad71 Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 ^ That one should come with a coupon for a free angioplasty!
Nrthwnd Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 ^ Apart from the actual burger itself, bottom of the stack w/the dill, I can't really make out what the heck is actually deep fried, there. And I'm just guessing that the white glop at the top there, is macaroni and cheese. Sort of. Yum.
