New amazing looking water park opens in Lishui, China

Recommended Posts

So I had another sleepless nights about a month ago, so I started browsing some Chinese forums with google translate, looking for a Murphy's surf pool project I knew about, and boy did I hit the jackpot. This place looks totally amazing. Why can't we have waterpark's like this in Sweden?

The park is located on an island in the river that runs through the town.

Have a look at this awesome park, and leave a comment below

Here's a model of the park.

And here's a 3-D animation.

Here's a blueprint. Note that the Octopus Racer, Behind the Tornado were changed out to a speed slide complex.

4.thumb.jpg.6c1637d3c9775b5b625249d0d512ca93.jpg

Let's start with some construction pictures. This is a quality A park, that chose to work with only the best of suppliers like Proslide, Whitewater and Murphy's Waves. Since 95% of all the water park's built in China use Chinese knock-off companies, it's really nice to see that some park buy's the high quality stuff!

5.jpg.ecb997414f3f5d55d68a33613787fa91.jpg

A Tornado and Behemoth Bowl complex. It's very rare for Proslide to use these two rides on the same tower. The only other one I can think of is at Gyeongju World, Korea. If you know some more, please share :)

6.jpg.5f5a423d7b1d58eba47216624c5f095f.jpg

There is a really tall speed slide complex from Whitewater with an Aqualoop and a Freefall Plus.

7.jpg.47f5bbe2931821d7465d70d939b7535e.jpg

Looks awesome, don't it?

8.thumb.jpg.bb5fbf591037e50f886bc0fb08819b22.jpg

There's also a Giant Rainfortress from Whitewater.

9.thumb.jpg.8bf99e1c84065054616d40830b27b3c8.jpg

With a seriously kick-ass viking theme!

10.thumb.jpg.d3c3e6b653be8627f7a43ee8530da44e.jpg

There's also a pipeline complex from Proslide, with one of the first Pipeline Wave's in the world.

11.thumb.jpg.74a643b66e2060daa5e7703da8c78671.jpg

Here's the parks main entrance (at least the best photo of it I could find).

12.thumb.jpg.24d64688f08cc3d8cdf00c7140fa93e6.jpg

Here's a pretty decent panorama photo.

13.thumb.jpg.ff244ab311501110fb7fc5f9169d48cc.jpg

But the parks true star attraction has to be the amazing surf pool from Murphy's, the best wave maker in the world. (this pool is actually how I found out about this park).

14.thumb.jpg.b1938617001bf828474f13202e79658b.jpg

It's just so amazing looking! Just look at that mountain! Sure it may look a bit like Typhoon Lagoon, but this one has a viking ship, so it automatically wins!

15.thumb.jpg.7c3137d935235cb0fbafd98e0df15012.jpg

Here's an overview of this gorgeous pool. In-pool concerts is a pretty cool concept IMO.

16.thumb.jpg.fa37548491c60ce330635d4db4e42809.jpg

Here's the pipeline complex in action.

17.jpg.feb724f711b8a30bab5559e17f87d229.jpg

It's the first time that Proslide has used the big open Tantrum/Tornado 24 funnels for a 2-person ride. The idea was presented at the 2010 IAAPA.

And another one.

20.thumb.jpg.ff613730855f4398483a576b04ba0618.jpg

How can you not smile, coming of a Proslide ride? (well, most of them at least).

Another look of this great complex.

More smiling people.

23.thumb.jpg.0c4236414fecffdc94eb070d95b47f82.jpg

The park also has an extreme river, that looks pretty great!

24.thumb.jpg.23e5d80086a3d2171e02c1c183275e1c.jpg

The only thing I don't like with these types of rivers is the high walls, but they are a necessity of the ride.

25.thumb.jpg.352bc78dcddc348ba0ee978bda38767e.jpg

Misty photo.

26.thumb.jpg.3ef7b762601eec8a4982b0e73ed812c5.jpg

A thing I really like about Chinese water park's is that most of them really do a lot of theming on their rivers and wave pool.

One more photo.

This is how a dragon looks, just before they are about to eat some children!

There's a pool for just hanging around as well.

Have you ever seen somebody not smile on a Tornado ride?

44.thumb.jpg.7577292ceafc5aba863818eae476fb37.jpg

Here's the kick-ass play structure again.

45.thumb.jpg.d3720083237ed4142d278917412dbef7.jpg

It has a bowl slide, and a mini racer. Whitewater has not built this particular model in the western world yet, but there are at least five of them in China.

Love the theme of this one!

52.jpg.a7f28cd64d9ff4dd5a17f23ca0fc828e.jpg

It would not be a true water park without one of the world's best water attraction!

She looks pretty happy, don't she?

I really would like to visit this place!

Overview.

Just love the look of the mountain.

58.jpg.50e2086d5be920b43478166b39d0f189.jpg

Just imagine what would happen to those people if they were running the wave machine at the full 12 feet wave pattern.

Here's one more areal shot.

62.thumb.jpg.a828afa8e8630436af6cd28c08db59b8.jpg

Let's look at the speed slide complex again. Love the viking shields on the tower!

63.jpg.2251fb9705cf369f715553fd08d39fc8.jpg

I also love how they have painted the supports.

64.thumb.jpg.2b6709b42cc7a398501ee338917c2f91.jpg

Just look at how tall it is. 7 stories, compared to the standard 5 stories, for most speed slides.

65.jpg.148576a484b0c302fdd89ef7cd6a894c.jpg

Some lucky guy, about tho have the wedgie of his live!

66.thumb.jpg.bd8736332a27cabb2c3af62a6837a66b.jpg

I would love to try an Aqua loop this size. The only other ones I can think of this big are at Noah's Ark and Great Edmonton Mall. If you know another, share!

67.jpg.e56e1fa2a214aa894f48ba8c85f2c125.jpg

And one last look of this great looking tower.

And let's finnish with how amazing this place look in the dark! Please share a comment below with your thoughts on the park!

The park looks pretty well done. I wonder of they have any trouble with flooding being on an island in the middle of the river?

It's funny, I have also been thinking about that.

I would love to get a park like this within, lets say, 6 hours drive from Amsterdam.

This is how I feel as well, I could easily drive 6 hours, if something similar popped up in Germany, Holland, Poland or somewhere in Scandinavia.

^I think they were deprived for so long, and now finally have money and freedom…it's a market that is only going to continue to grow!

Here's an overview of this gorgeous pool. In-pool concerts is a pretty cool concept IMO.

Taken from Mandalay Bay. Just like everything else in China, it's a borrowed concept.

Whitewater have opened another attraction here

cd.jpg.c7f8684f08ff283698a58149ba27a2d7.jpg

It's a 6-lane Whizzard, but it's a completely new version for them. The rings are a lot bigger, and they have a much bigger drop in elevation.

This photo shows the difference between Whitewater's and Proslide's Octopus racers

I think it looks good, and it should be an improvement from the earlier Whitewater Whizzard's (which are also totally awesome!)

It's a Mammoth and a Turbo mammoth

It's the same complex as at Happy Valley Shanghai and Tianjin, only difference is that the Turbo version starts with a 360 helix instead of just a drop. I think it's an improvement from the others

I think it looks really good!

I wonder of they have any trouble with flooding being on an island in the middle of the river?

It turned out to actually be a pretty big issue! The flood was apparently record big and it's back to normal now, but still..

It's not really a small flood, this is how it usually looks.

Looks like the water got around 10 feet higher than normal
