OMG! Don't even use those directions!!! (Unless you have an extra hour+ to kill!)

Stay on the 5!! I'm assuming that you'll be coming up from the south.

If that's the case, you would have already gone through the heaviest traffic before the 134 anyway.

Stay on the 5!

Well from the looks of the map you'll take I-405 to I-5 .. it's the fastest.

If for ANY reason you take the 405 (other than flying into LAX, or are staying in the LAX- Santa Monica areas) you can most definitely add1-1/2 hours onto your trip!!!

It depends on when you are going...the 134-170 route will actually be less congested if you are driving on a weekday in the morning....

Hell, you could even go 5-134-170-5-118 and take a surface street from the 118...

We almost always take I-5 straight through to SFMM and our WORST drive ever was only a little over two hours. On the average, it's about an hour and fifteen minutes.

While some people might disagree and say to go WELL out of your way to do the I-5 to I-57 to I-210, that way usually ends up being about 20 to 30 miles longer, and about the same amount of time as I-5 in normal traffic. And if you happen to get lucky and hit I-5 when traffic is light, then you just wasted a half hour. And if there is an accident or traffic on I-210, then you just wasted even more time.

The ONLY time I would reccomend avoiding I-5 and using the I-210 route is when there is a reported accident with heavy delays.

Tune into KFWB 980AM and they do traffic reports every 10 minutes. Also, if you have a computer in your room, check www.sigalert.com before you head out.

If you are trying to get to SFMM for 10am opening, you'll need to leave by 8am no matter which route you take. It's about 60 miles from Disneyland to SFMM. And it's very rare that you will go 30MPH for the entire duration of I-5, unless there is a major accident, so you should make it in two hours or less.

The worst traffic you'll hit is where I-5, US-101, and I-10 all come together. That part of the drive SUCKS. Once you're in the Glendale/Burbank area it's not bad at all. When I worked on the WDI campus, my drive from Disney to Valencia was on average 25 minutes, not bad at all, and that's about 1/2 of your drive.

I've often found the "least risky" route in LA is the one where you travel of the fewest amount of freeways. Everytime you hop onto a different freeway, you run the risk of hitting traffic, another accident, road construction, etc. While sometimes it's not the "quickest route" it will be the "least risky." Freeway hopping in LA really doesn't buy you THAT much time.

Having a 'backup option' is a MUST, but ONLY if you hear of major delays on I-5. Otherwise you spend almost as much time moving from freeway to freeway as you would just sitting it out.

So, its either

I-5 to I-57 to I-210

57, 605, or 710 north to 210 west to the 5

I looked at those two routes,

I-5 to I-57 to I-210, it just seems really far off.

and the other, I couldnt even fine 605...

What about:

I-5 to H-2 to I-210 back to I-5???

^ Wow. That's a bummer. I just spent all the time getting you about as much information as you need about LA traffic before doing your trip and you can't put forth the effort to decipher it?

Next time I'll be sure to post only a couple of sentances at a time.

No offense or anything, but people aren't going to be willing to help you out if you aren't willing to accept and use the information!
