DoinItForTheFame
Sounds like these slides with the low wall/racing aspect are really catching on. There seems to be a decent amount of them going in in 2020.
ElvisLuv
Update on that New Great Wolf. They are looking at Jackson TN. That is really odd as there is zilch for anything else there and at 150 million not that big of a resort. It is about an hour east of the main Memphis burbs and 11/2 to anything midtown. I gather they are trying to cut Nashville down to 2 and a 1/2 hrs to 3 depending on where in the Nashville area they come from but makes Little Rock AR and Jackson MS further away. Then there's the Birmingham AL factor. If they placed this closer to Memphis in the I-269/I-40 area, it is an easy 3 hr drive, this makes it less appealing. The Memphis area is a good spot for the same reasons it's a gigantic distribution hub and even the reason it was once an airline hub. It is cebtral to many markets and has over three million within a 3 hr drive... many, many more within 4hr.
coneyislandchris
I know this isn't exactly one of the higher traffic threads on this site, but just figured I'd mention some news. Just stayed at the Pocono Mountains location at the beginning of this month, and they've been doing some refurb work inside the waterpark. The toddler slides and wading pool area were completely tarped off and they were doing construction work throughout the weekdays. Not that that's anything mindblowing, but what was more noticeable from the outside is the fact that they were clearing a lot -- and I mean a LOT -- of trees from the outside area around the lodge. These photos were taken facing north from their parking lot. Combine that with the following message that was posted on their website about the lodge refurbishment... I know this is just speculation on my part, but given the wording of that statement about it being the "single largest investment made to [the] resort since its grand opening", it leads me to believe that they might be moving forward with an outdoor waterpark in the near future to compete with Camelbeach just a little bit further up the road. I honestly can't imagine why else they would be clearing this much space.
grsupercity
We just stayed at the Great Wolf in Traverse City Mi a couple days ago. Nice little place. I would put it on the same caliber as the one in Concord NC but not as nice as Zehnder's, Gold Rush, and Avalanche Bay in Michigan. I would say equal to Soaring Eagle in Mt Pleasant
