The SETGO Guys Posted May 8, 2011 Posted May 8, 2011 Looks like a fun opening day, looking forward to many more great 2011 trip reports! What parks are you looking at for this season?
Jojo19799 Posted May 8, 2011 Posted May 8, 2011 Awesome report! I look so special, in a good way. And Cameron is going to be so strong after all 3 of those pushups! (BTW: Did ANYBODY actually scream "OH ANTON!" on Whizzer for me? R.D. I DID. I don't know if Jo heard me, but the girl in front of me sure did! NO! I did not hear you. All I heard you say was "bang" everytime I looked at you. You killed me about 9,438,104 times yesterday! Griff, thanks for posting pictures. It was a fun day. We should go again soon.
GriffyTiffy Posted May 9, 2011 Author Posted May 9, 2011 Well Jo, if you died 5 million times, you need to learn Ryan's ninja skills that we were taught! You obviously were NOT paying attention. Again, Thanks for the replies!
kumba830 Posted May 9, 2011 Posted May 9, 2011 R.D. I'm pretty sure I almost always scream "Oh Anton!" on Schwarzkopf rides. Great TPR Griff, that was an awesome day!
Hang And Bang Posted May 9, 2011 Posted May 9, 2011 Aw, Whizzer! I miss it, I must make my way back up there soon! Looks like you guys had a great day!
GriffyTiffy Posted May 11, 2011 Author Posted May 11, 2011 OLD TR: SIX FLAGS GREAT AMERICA TPR DAY Last August, TPR came to town for one of the best events ever, the Midwest Bash! Despite the hotness, the day was totally amazing! Lets jump right into the photos! First ride of the day was Superman... We got in early to ride! TPR rocks! The Bright Orb then melted Superman. how sad. Do a barrel roll! Batman, from V2's station "SCREEEEE" totally screwed. mmmmmm ERT! Little Dipper! yum NO!!! the Bright Orb strikes again! Iron Wolf... is not fun. Now it is time for the insane walkback! First, we start behind Superman, which has re opened after the attack of the Bright Orb. It's a bird! It's a plane! It's an egg salad sandwich! It's... SUPERMAN The parks bone®yard Skywhirl cages Parade float Kiddie Ride Hey, I recognize that name... Iron Wolf looplooploop signage American Eagle! Airtime! Raging Bull hotness dive dive dive The Orb is back! not again! yum. Mr_Starr and I in the best picture ever. After this we went to lunch, and I made the mistake of not bringing the camera back inside the park for the bridge party But no matter how many photos I took, they would not even begin to describe the insanity that went on during that night's ERT! I've said it before, and I'll say it a thousand times, TPR Rocks!
Mr. Starr Posted May 11, 2011 Posted May 11, 2011 What an awesome day! And I was so much tanner than Patrick... Mr_Starr and I in the best picture ever. Don't forget Jo in the background!
deathbydinn Posted May 11, 2011 Posted May 11, 2011 TPR day was incredible. I really like the Bull pictures from the backstage tour, it just looks so funky from that angle! I agree that no amount of pictures could capture the bridge party. Even if ERT had been cancelled, it still would have been a really great way to end the night.
GriffyTiffy Posted July 5, 2011 Author Posted July 5, 2011 Hey Guys! It's been a while since I posted a report here. now that I have 4 new reports to post, I figured I'd start now with.... ENCHANTED FOREST : UTICA, IL I was on my way to a Dreamwave Wrestling show in Lasalle (if you are a wrestling fan in the area, check it out, it's pretty dagum awesome) when I found out that there was a credit in the area! It turned out to be a nice place and a good way to kill about an hour. Now lets begin! As I waited for the coaster to open, I rode the neon fetish Tilt a Whirl. Very fun! Here is the coaster sign. It used to be located at Wonderpark in Ohio. These rope things still said Wonderpark on them! Me in the train It's a very dark place, so this is about the best shot of the layout possible, even if it's just the top of the lift. This snowman was hanging out behind the rides. I think it is from the former Santa's Village in Dundee. Here is the Swamp Buggy The cars weeeeee The park has a bunch of trees with wheels. They also have a Merry Go Round They also have a few more cool rides inside that I couldn't get a good picture of. So here is the sign outside! I think this is a pony ride This train takes people to the Grizzly Jack's resort next door oooo scary Dover Monster! And there is the end of this enchanting report! Thanks for reading! Remember to comment! Next report will be Little A Merrick A!
Jerrykoala2112 Posted July 5, 2011 Posted July 5, 2011 I'm not sure how this FEC's manage to stay open, especially this one because it is in the middle of no where! The one closest to me closed down last year, so hopefully this one is here to stay! But what was with the snowman / trees on wheels? Is that part of the "Enchanted" theme? Anyways, I'll have to stop here some day to pick up the credit, and it looks like TPR Day was a lot of fun! I'm still a little bummed I had to miss it... Thanks for posting!

I think the snowman and trees are from Santa's Village. Most of the trees are stuffed against the walls to create a forest theme, which is what most of the park is themed to. And if you do go here, hit up Starved Rock nearby, it's a very cool forest/cliff area. Thanks for replying!
Jojo19799 Posted July 5, 2011 Posted July 5, 2011 Thanks for sharing Griff. I never knew this place existed. Is it far from you? I might have to make a pit stop there next time I'm in the area.
GriffyTiffy Posted July 6, 2011 Author Posted July 6, 2011 ^I had no idea either Jo! It was a spur of the moment thing. The park itself is about 2 hours from me. If you go, again I recommend Starved Rock, which would eat up the time you don't spend at this park. Thanks for the reply Jo!
WildStangAlex Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 The one closest to me closed down last year Which is???? Griffin- enjoyed the pics. We were at Starved Rock last year and happened into Grizzly Jack's but when we found out how much they wanted for a room we ran far, far away. All the way to Wisconsin Dells. Can't wait to see Little a Merick A

We were at Starved Rock last year and happened into Grizzly Jack's but when we found out how much they wanted for a room we ran far, far away. All the way to Wisconsin Dells. Can't wait to see Little a Merick A I managed to get snatch the credit before it closed down.. But here's a RCDB link... http://rcdb.com/5379.htm Now when I research it, I think another company bought it out... But the place was stripped down last year and was abandoned! And Starved Rock Park is amazing! I've been there many years ago and it was fantastic....
GriffyTiffy Posted July 6, 2011 Author Posted July 6, 2011 Thanks everyone for the replies! My next TR comes from one of the most interesting little parks I've ever been too: LITTLE A MERRICK A The old school rides, fun atmosphere, and beautiful view of the graveyard make for 1 fun filled park! Let's take a look..... One of the first things you see when you pull up is this. It made me bleed. The first ride we rode was the Mad Mouse. It had no restraints! The car No credit for Griffin Here are the cars on the Tobaggon. Sunny helix! Little Dipper was pretty awesome! Some track. Graveyard! The train choo choo Me and Ryan were then held hostage on the Parachute ride for 3 terrifying cycles. Help The Roll o Plane literally flies you into the sun. Speaking of rides that burn, this one belongs to the Devil. ((((( At least we can rely on Wisconsin to spell words for us! Here is some of the park from the Monorail Nice parking job.... Bumper Boats Scramblerorammamammajamma Is that Uncle Jimmy? Wood mmmm Mexican Radio Kiddie coaster takeover! the face of EXCITEMENT Let's go again! baaaaaa willbuurrrr Mini Golf party. (note: let it be known that me, Jon, and Ryan all have mini golf swag.) Meteor bye bye LA! Thanks for reading everyone! Remember to comment! Next stop: Hersheypark!
QueerRudie Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 Very interesting, Griff- But I must ask you this: How in hades do you see ANYTHING through your hair????
GriffyTiffy Posted July 6, 2011 Author Posted July 6, 2011 I have my ways R.D.... it takes time to get used to Glad you enjoyed!
Mr. Starr Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 Awesome pictures And yeah...that parachute ride op was a little crazy. She just kept pressing buttons to make us ride more!
mcjaco Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 I don't think I've ever seen that many people at Little A-Merrick-A total in three visits, let alone in one day!
GriffyTiffy Posted July 6, 2011 Author Posted July 6, 2011 Matt, it was $10 wristband Mexican radio fiesta day I believe, so it was PACKED. But fortunately, they longest line we waited in was for tacos. After the park though, we had to get Taco Bell, which I think are better than the authentic Mexican ones
Jerrykoala2112 Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 I have to agree, my visit to Little Amerricka was never this crowded, but still didn't look too bad. For what the park has, I think it's great for what it has with the Roll-o-Plane, train that goes to a random farm, and the awesome go karts! Toboggan wasn't that fun for me either... P.S. I've never seen that kind of parking
Jojo19799 Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 I honestly LOVE Little Amerricka. I know it's in the middle of nowhere and it's next to a cemetery, but that's what I love about this park! It has a lot of charm! Meteor is a wonderful ride, better than Little Dipper at SFGAm (just my opinion here folks). I wasn't a fan of Wild Mouse at first, probably due to the lack of restraints and the last few hills before the station, but it really is a fun ride! I'm very curious as to where they're going to build the log ride from Kiddieland. Thanks for sharing Griff! I can't wait to see what else you have up your sleeve.
GriffyTiffy Posted July 7, 2011 Author Posted July 7, 2011 Jo, the worst parts of the Mouse to me were the bottoms of the last few hills (much to jerky) and the lack of restraints throwing me around. But the ride has "charm" and is somewhat unique compared to many modern mice (mmm alliteration) so it's overall a fun ride to me. And Jer, the go karts looked much to slow, so I skipped them Thanks for the comments, keep them coming!
deathbydinn Posted July 7, 2011 Posted July 7, 2011 Mini Golf party. (note: let it be known that me, Jon, and Ryan all have mini golf swag.) Quoted for truth. I do love our mini golf games, surprised no ones been injured yet... And you were smart to skip the go karts, very slow and was really more of a car ride than go - karts! All in all, good day with some very interesting mini golf and haunted house experiences.
