The TPR Games Forum Moderators Random Thread

If you want to make a small contest out of it, go ahead. I don't think DVDs are necessary though, game exchange points would probably be better.

That being said, if I find enough of my own tracks, I'm not even going to bother putting out a casting call and just use all of my own tracks.

Because I'm lazy like that.

That's up to you- Perhaps since I'm not good at NL, you can be the 'guest judge' of these tracks as the TPR NL challenge comes about...

Since NL tracks tend to take a lot longer for people to build, I was thinking a three week contest, including build and showtime; but not sure how you'd want to place your topic into it. I'd already planned for a NL challenge for February, so your timing was perfect on that. This time through, however, I'm tightening up the rules from the previous two NL challenges: 1.) Pictures should be submitted and 2.) P.O.V. must be submitted as well: That way we can really open up the whole of TPR to voting in this one- as in: General vote via POV.

I'm still waffling on the track to be used, though: We've done a wood, an Arrow Looper and a Schwarzkopf- should we go for a B&M series?

No love for Intamin?

A BM track seems to be alright this time around. I mean, with this whole giga coming about, I have seen a lot of people try and replicate that idea.

Of course I have love for Intamin... particularly one in Central Pennsylvania...

I didn't want to 'repeat' myself with another Schwarzkopf or use Arrow again! So I left my 'comfort zone' of fine German engineering- and promptly forgot about Intamin... go figure.

The next question becomes: What type of B&M? Do we really want a bevy of Leviathong duplicates in this contest, or should we open it up to be 'all track types'?

Neither was I....

Back during the last TPR contest, I banned him from participating in any TPR games (i.e Track Challenges, etc.) due to his admission of cheating (and in the thread, no less...) I never banned him from uploading/downloading things from the exchange- but he's no longer eligible to participate in the 'challenges' area.

Unless there's a way to do so, I don't think we have a method of banning a person from uploading/downloading tracks from the exchange itself- and if there is, I didn't see it when we were learning about it 15 months ago.

R.D. disabled the Game Exchange for me because...well...I don't really know. So, those are the only ones I can submit to, unless you're thinking of MediaFire.

He does know- and is playing dumb there. He was told why in the thread- and by E-mails.

Here's what I sent him:

Subject: G5 Coaster - [NL]

EDIT: Here you go: http://www.mediafire.com/?htbf5h11c96qc72

AJClarke -

Sorry for that, I had no idea, and I have no idea why you're locked out, if you're really locked out. I am not able to restrict access to the Game Exchange unless a user is banned, which you obviously are not, and you have no warnings on the forum.

I'll look into this. Sorry for the mis-understanding.

EDIT: You are not banned from uploading and downloading, but RD has deemed you ineligible for Game Exchange contests (I didn't know about this, so bear with me) due to cheating. Due to the misunderstanding, I won't yell at you for not uploading to the Game Exchange this time. THIS TIME. DUN DUN DUN...

AJ: This is what he edited in from the Winter challenge thread:

But this doesn't even bring up my second point, which disqualifies this park. I used the Mountain Tool in-game like RCT1, except the thing is you can't do that in-game in RCT2 (it's limited to the Scenario Editor). Which means I used 8cars. Stupid of me, because I forgot that TPR was one of the only places that doesn't accept hacks.

And the message I sent him:

AJClarke0912 wrote:

^I was saying that my formula wasn't the way. I like taking up space for a big-name ride (namely Bergsprung from the last entry), then cramming the rest in. It's what satisfies me, and if anything I'm really satisfied for what I did. I really love the bobsled I made and how I managed to squeeze in a looper with it.

Either way, it was good that you won't submit my park for ratings anyway because I used the mountain tool, which would result in my account being banned lol.

I may try it again, but I'm leaving for the holidays tomorrow, so yeah. Not mad that I didn't win or whatnot, but I'm merely saying "I'm done and I tried hard, go download what I managed to do".

I'm taking this as an admission of cheating.

You are now banned from future participation in ANY TPR Games forum activities. Do not participate, comment or ask questions about ANY future games played.

I try to spell out in any games forum challenge the rules clearly about cheats/hacks/trainers and the RCT II games- as it's not fair that some people don't use them while others do. Since we are seeing growth in the number of people using the thread, the last thing I want is to see is people thinking that "If he could do it, so can I" as that ends up tilting the playing field in favor of those who don't use these tools.

In this case, he got caught red handed and posting it right in the thread- then editing his message after he got caught. I was -not- happy about this, as it's a red flag that he could have cheated in other events we have played, and he got it past me. Thus the ban on playing the TPR challenges.

Hacking has become so commonplace in the game nowadays...it's no longer about how well you can play the game, but how well you can use third-party tools and content...

NoLimits is becoming more and more like that every day. Hopefully my book will get more people using the basics.

EDIT: I prefer the term "not eligible", because it doesn't sound anywhere near as bad when it actually is.

That's the thing: I've never used 8cars or any other trainer: Not once. I've use CTRs and a handful of CS pieces (on the old computer) but never used hacking tools for any of my RCT II parks. I guess I'm old fashioned and stick to the basis of the game as it was intended in the beginning- that or I'm simply OLD.

FYI - We are no longer allowing links to All American Thrills to be posted on TPR. They have done nothing but spam the forums, and now they have an anti-TPR backhanded comment on their site. Why should we support a group like this?

We believe in being a Family oriented web site. You will NEVER see a Disclaimer about needing a sense of humor to view our site or if you are easily offended don't enter. We want this to be the site you come to first for news and reviews within the amusement park industry.

At least those Spanish guys share pretty much all of their Shamblahahahaha pictures with us. Those guys from All American Thrills don't even bother posting any pictures and just provide a link most of the time (especially that 14-year old kid Brandon).

They probably won't show up in the games forum, but I'll remember to delete 'em if I see 'em.

Sadly- the key member of AAT is Walter White- who was part of the RIT campaign for a while. They're mostly made up of ex-TPR people who are nothing but being childish over so many different things.

Mind you, I've yet to set foot on that site- on principle alone. I know Chris Conrath (Keystone Thrills) is sick of them as well- and will not tolerate dealing with them; he had to remove one of his MODS from his site due to AAT...

Hey all...

I just got this from a member of the exchange- he's using Firefox, and has reported download errors from the exchange...

QueerRudie wrote:

Please PM me the location of the file that is giving you issues- as well as the type of browser you are using.

Some browsers will not download properly if the file isn't specified correctly- this is an issue with some browsers- and some files.

I'm using Firefox. I have noticed that sometimes files do not download with file extensions! haha. As for a link to the tracks, it's any track that I try to download that I haven't downloaded already. Note: this is not an error I am getting in No Limits. It's an error page that comes up in Firefox (kind of like a 404 error page).

Is this a new error to the exchange? I've yet to see anything like this - other than the odd RCT 2 file download problems with file extentions that has been corrected.

Anyone mind if I start a thread for my NoLimits guidebook in the forum, which conveniently will be released next week? It's straight-up advertising, I know, but...
