This ride is my first semi-fantasy ride. I've always focused on realism, and seen my designs as more of a homage to real rides rather than exploring the "limits" of the program (irony?). I've always felt that flyers were hard to build, and as I like a bit of a challenge I've decided to take on this type. I say "semi" fantasy, as I will still be taking inspiration from real rides in terms of building techniques and layout theory but no company in particular, I also wish for the forces to start realistic and the supports and structure. I'll also be using an exaggerated terrain, it utilise a large island, with cliffs and hills and woodland to create an ultimate flying experience.

It may not please every taste, but I don't think my rides ever have. I've had these ideas in my head for a while and it's been fun exploring how they'll work as a whole.

EDIT, not really letting post pictures, so have uploaded them externally.

Here's an earlier picture of the ride, in the editor. You can see the first drop, helix over the sea and pretzel loop

The top of the lift hill.

With a layout finalised, the terrain get's a good polishing up. Also some tweaking to the trackwork.

Just a small update, I've not finalised colours yet. But supporting and terrain work is well underway. In this shot you can see the "flying-hill" (is it air-time if you're lying down..?) I put this in because I think it's something that's not used enough on flyers. Airtime lifts you off the restraint! so it technically makes you fly. I love the pops you get on Air, so I made this hill which holds it for longer!

The recent cold weather has brought along some heavy fog, but the station is still getting built.

Still not finished it yet but it's coming along.

Wow, really nice. Makes me want to bust out NL again and see what I can whip up, but I'm just turrible at it. But I really like the layout, it looks fantastic.

Here's a screen of the ride, now almost complete. I intend to release it on Sunday 19th of December

I've got for a pure white colour scheme for a few reasons. Mainly because I love the way it looks and suites the vibe I want. And also because I've not seen anyone release a ride with this scheme! Probably because it's usually connected to being the default colour, but hey I think it stands out abit.

Background

An unusual white bird of prey has been spotted on a small island inbetween europe and the arctic. Locals from neighbouring lands have started escorting people to witness this beautiful new species, dubbed "Phoenix of the North". It's large and white, with dark blue markings all over it's body. It glides round the island's cliffs and scowers the seas for food. A special bird watching hut has been built in the centre of the island to provide the best views.

Ride Design

This ride is a B&M and Vekoma hybrid, taking feautures from both style flyer. It's graceful, yet powerful and full of fast gliding swoops and turns. The first half of the ride provides and a unique flying experience, with an extended period of weightlessness and interaction with the terrain. The second half is about getting your heart pumping and your head spinning.

Notes

You need trackpackager to ride

This ride was created using Newton 2

Big thanks for Ed, Loefet and Andre for testing.

^ Yeah, just trying to get you some more downloads!

The track was awesome, man! The low clearance from the ground made the ride have really good pacing and exciting elements. Even some nice airtime going over the station. The inversions/elements are unique and that's really cool how you did it. Supports looked like they took a loooong time.

Keep it up man! Can't wait to see more of your work!
