the ghost
AWESOME! Scream(I don't think)would have worked as a standalone maze... but it is PERFECT for the Terror Tram.
Zeppelinfreak
^I don't think it would have worked either as a maze, but the Terror Tram was made for something like this. Hopefully this is as good as SAW: Live or Die Terror Tram, which was, in my opion, the best Terror Tram.
the ghost
Sorry for a bump... but Scream sounds AWESOME! Stab 8 is one of Four movies currently filming in the terror tram, so it seems like Ghostface is taking over the entire tram like in years passed where it has been sectioned. For another thing Ghostface will play "main icon" meaning he will be at the front gates! This is perfect... Ghostface is a solid host as it goes with the overall Hollywood theme! SO HAPPY Universal took this approach as opposed to giving Ghostface a maze!
Zeppelinfreak
^John Murdy said that he is going to be used in marketing like with Freddy Kruger more-so than like Saw in 2009 where it's the whole theme.
Nibbler
find themselves being stalked by one of the most dangerous slashers in horror history: Ghostface Can't say that I agree with the above statement, "Ghostface" was never the same character in each film, therefore can hardly be boasted as one of the most dangerous slashers, unlike the Sleepaway camp series (As cheesy as they were) or Childs Play etc etc
Zeppelinfreak
John Murdy confirmed on the Halloween Horror Nights twitter page that the maze codenamed "Trivia" will be announce tomorrow morning at 11:00 am PST.
Zeppelinfreak
The Wolfman: The Curse of Talbot Hall is coming to Universal Studios Hollywood for Halloween Horror Nights. Zeppelinfreak
It's going to be located in the House of Horros, which housed Vampyre: Castle of the Undead last season.
the ghost
It hasn't been officially announced yet, but currently pretty much ALL SIGNS point to a La Lorena house which is AWESOME considering it will be an original house. The facade(Shrek que) is a church which is mexican in style. Also he has "opened the window" and we have actually done quite well so far. No guaranties, but expect La Lorena in Shrek que. Now for the "real news." The Eyegore films are up for voting on the site! www.halloweenhorrornights.com/hollywood/2011/film_contest.php
Zeppelinfreak
^I am expecting La Llorona as well, but it could be something completely different that could take us by a complete surprise. Wouldn't be the first time.
omnio55
Hacked got my vote, although follow the sun was very cool too.
Stitch_101
"Hacked" got my vote as well. "Slash in the Box" was a close 2nd though; it was the only one to make me jump, though it was because of the cheap sound effect jump most horror movies use. RCFreak
Apparently due to last year selling out so many nights, they are not offering the Frequent Fear Pass in Hollywood this year. Boo. http://www.facebook.com/HalloweenHorrorNights
Zeppelinfreak
^Well that just sucks, I don't know how many times I will get to go now. But on the bright side the crowds will probably be less during the weekdays when I go, because a majority of the people last year bought the multi night pass. downunder
"La Llorona: Villa de Almas Perdidas" maze announcement is up on the website. So that completes the maze line-up I presume.
RCFreak
Growing up with the Legend of "La Llorona" I thought the scare zone last year was pretty disappointing, hopefully the maze version is FAR BETTER with so much creative freedom to play with the story. Zeppelinfreak
^They could add even more with La Llorona's maze as well, having some other folk lore, instead of only just La Llorona. But it's weird there hasn't been a PR yet, but the maze is up on the site.
downunder
^I have a feeling they might have put the maze up on the website by accident before the press came out. I'm confident the full maze treatment will do the concept justice, I thought the scare zone was fairly anonymous and low key last year. Good to see they're taking a few risks this year; I'm not sure how familiar/interested the younger demographics are with Alice Cooper, but it should be a good maze anyway. EDIT: they've taken the announcement off the website now, oops.
Zeppelinfreak
^The La Llorona scarezone looked nice, but the actors seemed a bit lost in a scare zone situation. A maze will be more structured which should mean that it would be miles better than the scarezone.
jedimaster1227
Universal Studios Hollywood has sent us a press release regarding their next maze announcement for Horror Nights. La Llorona, the fearful story of melancholy and murder that has terrified Mexican and Latin American children for generations, will have an expanded presence at this year’s “Halloween Horror Nights®” event as Universal Studios HollywoodSM recruits Mexico-based film star Diego Luna as a creative consultant to design the all-new terror-filled maze, “La Llorona: Villa De Almas Perdidas.” The event begins on September 23 and continues on select nights through October 31. “La Llorona: Villa De Almas Perdidas,” which translates to “Weeping Woman: Village of Lost Souls,” will feature elaborate sets depicting sites within and around a small Mexican village. The new maze will tell the haunting story of “La Llorona,” doomed to wander the earth forever after drowning her children in a desperate attempt to win a lost love. She then drowns herself when this attempt to win her lost love fails. According to the legend, La Llorona’s dreadful, wailing cries—“My children! Where are my children?”—can be heard eternally piercing the night. La Llorona’s frail, drenched body lurking throughout the dead of night will invariably elicit unwavering dread from the helpless village inhabitants or maze guests as her presence signifies impending death. Diego Luna said: “Like all Mexican children, I grew up with the story of ‘La Llorona’ and I think it’s a tale with universal appeal. Story-telling is at the heart of all my work and I’m thrilled to have the chance to help present the great ‘La Llorona’ legend in a different kind of medium at the ‘Halloween Horror Nights’ event.” Diego Luna began his acting career before age 12 and came to international attention with his performance in the award-winning film, “MOVIEmeter Down 235 this week Y Tu Mamá También.” Since then, he has shown tremendous versatility as an actor, writer, producer and director. He was nominated for a Screen Actors Guild award for his role in Universal Picture’s critically-acclaimed, award-winning film “Milk,” served as executive producer of the gritty and much-praised drama “Sin Nombre,” and recently won Mexico’s prestigious Silver Ariel Award for co-writing the movie “Abel,” which he also directed. Diego Luna is currently filming “Elysium,” starring opposite Matt Damon and Jodie Foster. He’ll soon be seen opposite Will Ferrell in the comedy, “Casa De Mi Padre,” and in the thriller, “Contraband,” opposite Mark Wahlberg and Kate Beckinsale. Diego Luna is be a key member of a Hollywood horror “dream team” assembled by Universal Studios Hollywood to create the ultimate “live” Halloween nightmare. The team also includes director, writer, producer and actor Eli Roth, who will present the new maze, “Eli Roth’s Hostel: Hunting Season,” rock-horror legend Alice Cooper, who will present the new maze “Alice Cooper: Welcome To My Nightmare,” and multi-platinum recording artist and filmmaker, Rob Zombie, making an encore performance with his nightmarish 3D world of carnage and chaos in “Rob Zombie’s House of 1000 Corpses: In 3D ZombieVision.” “The Thing: Assimilation,” inspired by Universal Pictures’ upcoming thriller, and “The Wolf Man: The Curse of Talbot Hall,” inspired by the Academy Award®-winning Universal Pictures film will add to the Hollywood horror clout. An all new terrifying backlot experience, “Terror Tram: Scream 4 Your Life,” based on the latest installment of Wes Craven’s “Scream” film series, will unleash the iconic “Ghostface Killer” on Universal’s famed backlot, the heart of the world’s most famous horror moviemaking studio. Also for anyone who didn't see it, Universal sent us the press release for the Terror Tram: Scream 4 Your Life. “Terror Tram: Scream 4 Your Life,” based on the latest installment of Wes Craven’s “Scream” film series, will unleash the iconic “Ghostface Killer” on the world-famous backlot during Halloween Horror Nights® at Universal Studios HollywoodSM. Mirroring the “Scream 4” film concept of a “movie-within-a-movie” theme, the “Terror Tram: Scream 4 Your Life” experience will introduce guests to the fictional “Stab” slasher film franchise and beckon them to visit the production of “Stab 8,” currently “shooting on location on the backlot.” The fantasy world of movies collides with reality when “Terror Tram: Scream 4 Your Life” guests are transported through Universal’s famed backlot—-the heart of the world’s most famous horror moviemaking studio—and find themselves being stalked by one of the most dangerous slashers in horror history: Ghostface. “Terror Tram: Scream 4 Your Life” casts guests as victims in this living horror film and elevates the “Halloween Horror Nights” experience to astounding new levels of blood-curdling realism. To create the ultimate “Halloween Horror Nights” nightmare, Universal Studios Hollywood assembled a horror “dream team” of filmmakers and stars who are serving as creative consultants to Universal’s Creative Director, John Murdy. The team includes director, writer, producer and actor Eli Roth, who will present the new maze, “Eli Roth’s Hostel: Hunting Season,” the legendary rocker Alice Cooper, who will present “Alice Cooper: Welcome to My Nightmare,” and multi-platinum recording artist and filmmaker Rob Zombie who returns with “Rob Zombie’s House of 1000 Corpses: In 3D ZombieVision.” “The Thing: Assimilation,” inspired by Universal Pictures’ upcoming thriller, will add to the Hollywood horror clout.
