coasterkyle Posted May 25, 2010 Posted May 25, 2010 Wow those are some amazing shots.. I love the color in some of them and the wildlife shots
Skycoastin Steve Posted May 25, 2010 Posted May 25, 2010 I'm laying down and I still almost fainted looking at these pics. Unreal.
G$ Kurt Posted May 25, 2010 Posted May 25, 2010 Wow! My mind is blown by how fast the landscaping in Maverick is growing in! I have the standard postcard shot from Mavericks opening year of the horeshoe roll picture that you took and it is just amazing how quickly those trees are growing in.
BaMiTsPaT Posted May 25, 2010 Posted May 25, 2010 Those pictures are so vibrant! I love all the colors in each of them and the picture quality is phenomenal as well! Great job!
jamesdillaman Posted May 25, 2010 Posted May 25, 2010 Amazing photos! Seriously these are great. You are very talented. Gotta get Zach to see these... he'll appreciate them even more than me. (waits for jizzy to respond...)
PKI Jizzman Posted May 25, 2010 Posted May 25, 2010 lol. Yeah nice photos, did you edit the colors? The pics look pretty good dude! Looks like a nice zoom, especially for the zero-g. I can't wait to get up there this year with the camera.
haiderodes Posted May 25, 2010 Posted May 25, 2010 nice photos. i was at the park Sunday 5.23 as well. Did you happen to see the back to back TTD rollback around 4p...pretty awesome stuff.
Invertalon Posted May 25, 2010 Author Posted May 25, 2010 Hey everyone, Appreciate all the comments! As far as the colors go, I did some minor tweaking to some of the photos but many are right out of the camera. The lenses I used render beautiful colors and contrast and really don't need much post-processing at all. The hardest part was dealing with the harsh sun that day, but the photos turned out pretty well considering. The camera I used was a Canon 7D with 135mm f/2L (most of those shots above with this lens), 24-105 f/4L IS and Tokina 12-24mm f/4 lenses this time around. Nothing too crazy telephoto wise. Again, thanks for the comments everybody! I will have plenty more as the season goes on.
PKI Jizzman Posted May 25, 2010 Posted May 25, 2010 Aha, thought so...with my five year old laptop, pictures usually don't look that good on my computer! Very nice, very nice. I'll have to look for that spot where you took the pic of the zero-g, with my 200mm I'm sure I can get some similar results! Should be going up a week from tomorrow... -Zach
Invertalon Posted May 25, 2010 Author Posted May 25, 2010 Thanks! Yeah, different monitors can give very different results with photos. I have my monitor calibrated for photo editing and so when I send for printing they come back identical to what I see on the screen. Many monitors come way too bright and vivid... When I calibrated my monitor the difference was crazy, but my prints come back flawless now. I can't wait to play with my new 300mm f/4L IS coming in tomorrow at the park this weekend. I just love the candid's you can get with a telephoto like that. Not to mention, on the 7D with the 1.6x "crop factor", my equiv. reach compared to standard film is 480mm. Add in my 1.4x teleconverter, I have the ability to 'reach' 672mm at f/5.6, which is quite awesome. I am looking forward to the shots I can get up to the top of Dragsters top hat, I just hope the weather is clear and nice again.
gisco Posted May 25, 2010 Posted May 25, 2010 Very nice photos. I love to see the faces on people when they are riding. Keep up the good work and thanks for sharing! Bob
VGplay Posted May 25, 2010 Posted May 25, 2010 Awesome pictures. Sunday was a nice day to be at the park. Great weather but crowds weren't bad at all. On your shot of the main gate, what does it say about Phil Dawson? As a Browns fan that would suck if he were there on Sunday and I didn't get his autograph.
Invertalon Posted May 26, 2010 Author Posted May 26, 2010 "Meet Phil Dawson, Kicker for the Cleveland Browns Friday June 4th in front of the Game Day Grille"
STR8FXXXINEDGE Posted May 27, 2010 Posted May 27, 2010 LOVE these! Thanks a lot for sharing, and thanks for the shots of Blue Streak. One of my favorite coasters at CP, and very under rated! You never see very many photos of it. Brian
lil jimmy norton Posted May 27, 2010 Posted May 27, 2010 Wow, I think everyone covered everything I was going to say. That black and white Blue Streak pic is insane. Really awesome pics.
themeparkman25 Posted May 27, 2010 Posted May 27, 2010 I know we have talked about this before, but you could you possibly send me the full size picture of Maverick with the caption "airtime". It is truly phenomenal and I would love to be able to have it as my background. Thanks so much for posting!
Yamez Posted May 27, 2010 Posted May 27, 2010 Some awesome pictures, I absolutely love the picture of the Maverick train getting ready to head into the Stengle Dive. All of the pictures are so bright and colorful... Thank you so much for posting, its nice to see the park since I can't get out there any time soon.
