Hhappy
When i was younger my parents used to take me to a park nearby. My last visit must have been something like 20 years ago (as in i can't remember when that was) The parks is a real family park, as in it's aiming for families with small children. Most of the attractions are for those children. Anyway, since i did not have much to do last week i decided to check out the place once more to see what had changed and maybe even score a new credit. Link to their website (in dutch) http://www.julianatoren.nl The place is smaller then i remembered and there are way more attractions packed in this small area compared to my memories. Here's a bunch of my pictures to give you an idea of the place. the entrance area of the park as seen from the parking area yes, that's the place one of the many displays of the parks mascotte the kids just loved it, by the looks of things jul's stones looks like we've found Jeff's long lost cousin.. photo op before entering the haunted house.. let's check out the rest of the park i know somebody will be very happy with this image... new credit (for me) a ride for the family.. i did remember some other sort of ride which used to be there.. smaller and red.. anyway.. time to move on.. "convertible land" food place theming sort of overview of the park, only thing behind me were the bird show and the picknick area caroussel not sure if any parent would fit in this.. let's jump rollercoastertrain those look familiar.. and they have more then one of those?? awesome not sure what's more disturbing.. the look on gadgets face or the thing batman is holding.. vlinder aka butterfly hairtime jumping water thingy underneath the coaster area to sit down and enjoy the food you ordered.. jul's tollende muis and a bunch if slides, underneath these slides there was an area with airpressured soft balls shooting etc. firefighter kind of thing looks like fun family coaster random theming there's even a nautic jet and the kids loved it rockin tug ride something not Elissa friendly exercise device since the kids can't reach the pedals and grandpa has to do all the peddaling.. mighty mouse (i remember that cartoon series from my child hood) and the tower.. time to show you all how "big" this place is.. as seen from the tower.. rollercoaster and in the background there's the bird show area. lot's of stuff in a small area.. last but not least.. the park map. Hope you enjoyed it.
SharkTums
Thanks so much for sharing Hanno. This park just looks like the perfect family day out. I don't understand why we don't have more places like this in the US. Oh yeah, the no personal responsibility and lawsuit thing...bummer!
cmplxaud
That's a really cool park. It's so compact and yet they managed to get a lot of attractions in there. I really liked where they placed the rockin tug. Thanks for the trip report!
squirrelnut1416
When i saw the overview park, it hought it was just going to be some type of advanced ghetto fair. Slap me with a tuna for thinkin like that. It's amazing how much cool stuff they have built in there. That and all the copyright infringement... well blatant copyright rip-offs. Crazy_Behemoth_Lady_Jess
Mind if I ask, but what is that "jul's tollende muis" ride? Is it one of those tumbling capsule rides? At the Flintstones, Batman, and Inspector Gadget knockoffs.

cmpunk771
Looks like a nice family day out, I am just wondering if there are any parks like that left in the UK?
AlmereStars
Woow this place changed a lot!!! I used to go there with school. 10+ years ago or something. Is the maze (near the tower) still there?? I owned that maze! Its really weird that they have to pack all the attractions in such a small place, it has a lot of "empty" space surrounding it. Or is that also part of De Veluwe (national park)?? Aah well, thanks a lot hanno!
bgwfreak777
What a nice little family park! I'm amazed at the theming that goes into these places, where a park that size in the States would never spend that much money on theming. The park also has a RCT feel to it, but in a good way! cfc
Good to see that the Flintstones are alive and well and living in the Netherlands. It's a shame that most American "kids parks" don't put this level of care into theming and landscaping--and to providing plenty of activities that parents and kids can do together. Six Flags Enthuseast
Wow, Batman, Gadget, the Flinstones? How many companies does this park have permission from!?!? This place looks fun. A mouse themed Frog Hopper, cheese, a boat jumper, a non-bungee (and, for me, non-painful) trampoline.... This park has all kinds of awesomeness! dmaxsba2408
Even with all the clouds tying to make this park dreary it has to be the most colorful place I have ever seen.
larrygator
Mind if I ask, but what is that "jul's tollende muis" ride? Is it one of those tumbling capsule rides? Yes, the picture in the Park Index will give you a better idea. Check out the second picture. Edited April 18, 2010 by larrygator
themeparkologist
^ Wow! There are certainly no space wasters in Holland! They just put their new rides right on top of their old ones. Also, Why are the rides' names in multiple languages? Better yet, Is 'Nautic Jet' English or Dutch or...?
larrygator
Are you asking if the words "Nautic Jet" are English? A good rule of thumb is that if you can read a sign at a Dutch park the sign is English. Many rides will carry a "generic" trade name usually in English and foreign parks may change the name to suit theming or the native language of the park. themeparkologist
^Thank you. But some English words are derived or even borrowed from other languages, hence my question.

RoCo
Super cute little park! It really is sad that so few places like this exist anymore in the States. That Inspector Gadget looks like he's just popped out of the mountain at the end of "Total Recall."
