aslinterpreter
Hello TPR friends! Last weekend we drove to the other side of the wonderful state of Missouri, for our sons 10th birthday This is a little diferent from the trips we normally take, here are a couple of links to some of our past trips. A few months ago we went here http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=52178 And last year we went here http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=51783 At Skyzone, there was a special going on where only kids 10 to 15 could jump, thats why my old self was standing on the sidelines the whole time. The City Museum was awesome! We spent eight hours there and our son Parker wanted to stay longer. Here is the link to their webpage http://www.citymuseum.org/home.asp The Museum might not be that enjoyable if you are any of the following.... 1. If you are over 6'3" or weight over 250 2. claustrophobic 3. acrophobic 4. Dont like big balls being throw at your face Admission is $12 for anyone over 3 years old, and the white trash aquarium, is an extra $6 Hope you enjoy the pics! This is Skyzone! It smelled like a skating rink. You have to wear their special Skyzone shoes to jump. There were a couple of really big kids whos parents just dropped them off and left. They spent most of their time eating pizza and standing in the middle of a trampoline and not jumping. Our son Parker is the blonde one, we also brought his best friend Jordan, who was mad that I told the Skyzone guy that he was 10, but he doesnt turn 10 till may. They also had a trampoline court area where you could play 3-D dodgeball. I think my kid is like a dodgeball superstar because he never got out......um...my wife just said I have to take that part out...he probably just cheated really bad. Now onto the City Museum! This slide was one of my favorite parts of the day. The building used to be a shoe factory back in the day, and they kept some of the old equipment. This slide used to be how they got the shoe boxes from the top to the bottom. They used old trees to make some of the things you can crawl thru. I am 6'3" and didnt fit into some of the tubes very well. Once you are inside, you are committed to go thru. I dont think most of these things have enough room to turn around in. There are random holes that lead to the bowels of the building....speaking of bowels, it looks like i am going to get pooped out of this hole in the pic. This shot is about halfway up the stairs to get to the spiral slide. There are two different ways up, and only one line at the top. It took about 40 minutes to actually get to the slide bacuse nobody could merge the two lines respectfully Close to the top! I am sure this is the longest non-water slide I have been on. It took 30 seconds of nausea inducing spinning to get to the bottom. Half of the museum is outside. If it was much colder, it would not of been enjoyable. The ball pit started out a lot of fun. You might notice that I am the only adult in there. Still going good at this point. um...not so good here. My son decided to get all the kids to start ganging up on me. and it just got worse and worse until I finally gave up Its hard to see in this pic, but we are actually UNDER the catwalk area, sliding on our stomachs. This was my least favorite thing there. This is where the acrophobia kicks in The rooftop area was not open yet for the season. There is a ferris wheel and some other attractions up top. I am pretty sure my kid ate half a bag of roasted marshmallows The bird came really close to taking a huge crap on my wife. Thats me in the middle....almost stuck. You have to turn around half way thru and go feet first to get down. This is about 80 feet in the air. This is Kim, she is our intern for 10 weeks. We decided to bring her along on the trip. Kim, does NOT like heights, and was shaking bad when she finally got down. The whole structure sways in the wind while you are crawling thru this tiny tunnel. I am not sure I would do that part again. Shoelace factory, where you can design your own. When I was litle I remember Worlds of Fun had one of these things. It brought back memories for me...my kid thought it was way boring On the top floor they had a circus every two hours. My wife can do this same move! Thing has found his way to a hole in the floor. The "aquarium" looked a lot more like a pet store I worked at in college, than an aquarium you would pay $6 to go to. When you stick your hand into the tank, these fish come up and suck all the dead skin off your fingers. Its that time of year again! This guy got a little too excited and flipped upside down while going at it. My wife made me help him get back on his feet again. You can also pet a "shark". Its a babmoo shark that we sold at our pet store for $30. The stingrays didnt really want you to pet them, but we still tried. Closer Finally! They are really slimy. I am pretty sure this one had an accident and some of his jaw was removed. This chimp totally wanted me! Not quite up to Atlantis standards...but good enough for St Louis! My wife fit just fine, but my huge head wouldnt even fit inside! BOOBS!!!!! Thanks for checking out our trip report! Any questions or comments are always welcome! Hercules
The City Museum is by far one of the weirdest places I have been to. I didn't get a chance to do much there as I was there on business, but just looking at everything was pretty, well, neat. Thanks a lot for the report! the_muke_85
being a native from St. Louis, the City Museum is one the coolest things our city has to off (emphasis added) visitors! the spiral slides are great for kids and adults alike! Big LOL I don't mind Museum's but usually need to be in the right state of mind to enjoy them, but the thrill of possible injury or death will make this place fun regardless. Now it makes sense why this is a stop on the Middle America trip. I am not sure what I am most looking forward to: diving into the ball pit, or crawling through a tunnel net at 80ft... OR... Scott calamitously causing injury to himself. Luke
Thelegendarymatthew
Oh man, I can not wait until TPR covers this park on there trip this summer. I can just imagine the captions Anyways, is the 80ft net avoidable? If I'm not in a coaster car then I freeze up!
