thunder001 Posted August 8, 2005 Posted August 8, 2005 Superman going Vertical eh......Rocket Launched Wheel Chair?? Nice photos as allways Rabid, look forward to coming to the park soon so I can get the kids to bug you while you work Can't wait till December......
Twister II Posted August 8, 2005 Posted August 8, 2005 Vertical? Do you mean slightly more than horizonal?
Real Posted August 8, 2005 Posted August 8, 2005 Vertical = work done above the ground. When supports or track are placed (or in any construction project) when the structure goes up, its called going vertical. That was fast. Just seems like recently we learned of it, now its already got stuff up.
zztopless Posted August 8, 2005 Posted August 8, 2005 I think the most exciting aspect of this coaster (and I have said this before) is that it is lauching out of the building (have a look at the pics) - with the possibilty of effects along the indoor part of the lauch (THE LAUNCH ACTUALLY STARTS INSIDE THE BUILDING, in the dark and exits through that cut out in the old studio). Don't forget all the preshow track is in the same building, if we are right, the first part of the ride is basically an immersive dark ride, but no one is 100% sure yet, but it is anything akin to what they did with Scooby Doo, we are in for a treat - and anyone who has ridden that can tell how good Movie World are with theming.
thunder001 Posted August 9, 2005 Posted August 9, 2005 Could not have said it better Dan, and that launch track goes the full length of the building. I will try to get a picture of the building so as you can see the length of the building. And the inside track is in the buildings used for the old Movie Magic Studio Tour, so it is big enough to house 3 stages used for the show. This would lead us to believe that the pre ride show will be one of a kind. I have said it before and I will say it again, can't wait till December.
maliboomer Posted August 9, 2005 Posted August 9, 2005 A peice of straight launch track... how anticlimatic, for those capital letters.
SharkTums Posted August 9, 2005 Posted August 9, 2005 Hey I think this is great! They need to have this ride finished (and more important WORKING!) by mid-December! Are all of the footers in place now? Or are they going section by section?
NitroJoeC Posted August 9, 2005 Posted August 9, 2005 ^ Are you going in mid-dec? Hopefully they get an awesome animation for the ride when they announce it! It does sound really cool though. JC
SharkTums Posted August 9, 2005 Posted August 9, 2005 ^Nah...well there's a chance we might go over Christmas...but I meant more for school holiday's and vacations!
thunder001 Posted August 9, 2005 Posted August 9, 2005 All of the footers are in place and more of the supports for the tophat have been put inplace. There is also a lot of track going into the building, but we will have to wait to see if Rabid can get any sneak peak pictures from inside.
djrappa Posted August 10, 2005 Posted August 10, 2005 Christmas Elissa??? NO WAY! Big, big, big mistake to visit out parks at this time of year... About the only time these parks are rediculously crowded is the December/Janruary period. If you were looking to get down here over your winter much wiser to come down at the start of february as the parks should be more or less dead. Just a minor heads up if you didn't already know
thunder001 Posted August 10, 2005 Posted August 10, 2005 ^ Good call DJ, mid to late Feb is the best time as all the schools are back in and it is only crouded on the weekends. And on a good note, it looks like the ride will be ready for x-mas without a problem.
ddaver177 Posted August 11, 2005 Posted August 11, 2005 Thanks for the news Dave "always liking the word vertical" White
