I have been a long time member of TPR and this is my first attempt at a trip report. Please bear with me. I was fortunate enough to travel to Spain on a rollercoaster trip. I was able to take a side trip, with two other enthusiasts to a country that I never heard of before. It is the country of Andorra. It is about 180 Square miles and is located between Spain and France. This little country boasts the longest Mountain Coaster in the world. The lift hill took over ten minutes and the ride down between five and seven minutes. It was incredible. We got tickets for five rides but ran out of time as we only did four. On the last ride down a local asked me if I would give one of his daughters a ride down-I couldn't refuse because she was the same age as one of my grand daughters.

We had to go through a border crossing coming into the country but that was not a problem as the border guard was asleep.

For all you European experts-What is the official language of Andorra?

Crap I posted the pictures backwards

^Actaully, the offical langauge is Catalan, the same langauge spoken in certain areas of Spain, including Barcelona. But it is not Spanish.

Nice job Jeff - I love mountain coasters!

You are correct. Catalan is it and I have no idea what it sounds like. The coaster is 5.3 km long.

Thanks for sharing these pictures, Jeff. As for posting them "backwards," almost all first-time trip reporters do that.

You'll get the hang of it, my old UK trip roomie.

Yes, include myself in that category - I did the same thing when posting my first report!

That looks like one mean slide down the mountain. I hear that they have some good one's in Germany and the Alps, but not sure if I will have the time to get to any of them on our trip this fall.

Thanks for sharing!

Jeff, great photos. That thing looks amazing!

Funnily enough, a friend of mine was discussing going to Andorra for this, but I had no idea that the ride was as big as you say. Might end up going there sooner than I imagined now!

Thanks for posting this. It makes me wish that I had scheduled some time for this in my upcoming Spain trip.

After getting my feet wet on the one at the Great Wall and feeling the insanity at Park City, I can't wait to ride more of these. They are absolutely incredible!!

We have some nice hills here in the U.S. Too bad there aren't that many---if any---here. I've never ridden one, but it looks like a blast!

Eric

There is one in MA, one in MD, one in CO and one in UT that I know of. I rode the one at Jimminy Peak in MA and it was like a kiddie ride compared to this one.
