doom1001 Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 I came upon this and felt the need to share what an amusement park/fair looks like in a country that's been isolated from the world for like 50 years.Kind of amazing and makes you appreciate everything you have. http://www.authorstream.com/Presentation/aspey-189551-disney-al-estilo-cubano-castrista-entertainment-ppt-powerpoint/
atem122 Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 I've seen my fair share of ghetto coasters, but that is the most ghetto coaster I have ever seen, it seems to have less craftsmanship than the Blue Flash!!! Although you can't blame them since it's in a country that has been cut off from a lot of the world. Good find though
ECZenith Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 I heard this place was getting a new ride next year, this photo was taken from the parking lot. Should fit right in!
sam06pr Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 Wow thats sad! lol. I like the headline "Disney al estilo cubano" jajajaj cracked me up!
Retro_Gaga Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 I can't even identify if in some of those photos, there are actually rides.....
Calicoasters Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 I heard this place was getting a new ride next year, this photo was taken from the parking lot. From the Box... I mean Crate it looks like it is going to be a Hollywood Rip Ride Rocket clone. It even has a simular name.
metrock Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 Wait a minute! I thought Pharaoh's Lost Kingdom closed a while back.
netdvn Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 That place looks great! Will TPR be taking a trip there sometime soon? Dan - I love how all the rides look like they were made from coathangers.
CorkscrewFoley Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 Well I wonder...does anyone else think that coaster is probably smoother than a Vekoma?
ChrisZer0 Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 Seeing that most island-based Cubans live in dire poverty, this is a little bit of solace to their daily lives. Sure, it maybe ghetto to us, but to them, its an escape from whats around them. Don't be so harsh kids, take stock you live in free countries and have food in your gut, clothes on your back and a warm bed to sleep in at night...
