thrillrideseeker Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 6. Can be shuttle (However, It needs to be REALLY well done if chosen)9. Minimum of 3 Trains. How is that possible?~Matthew
netdvn Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 ^ A Mr. Freeze-style Flying Dutchman might be able to work. if you can somehow incorporate three trains onto it. I'm not really sure about this because I don't really have NL. A triple dueling Flying Dutchman might be able to work as well.

Vekoma Fan Boy Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 Its better to give G-Force limits instead of saying "No red G's." Especially now that Real has introduced his more realistic G force config file. When you say no reds, do you mean by the default NL G's or Real's G's?
nln00b Posted July 20, 2009 Author Posted July 20, 2009 The old one. But could you please give me the red limits in the new one and Ill update -Thanks
dr.gumbo Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 To be honest, I'm not sure if your up to running a contest just yet. Maybe you could get a bit more experience by participating in other contests and such before hand.
Sasquatch Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 ^Definitely. Also, 3 trains could be a little much for a flying dutchman. Could it please be 2?
COASTER FREAK 11 Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 ^ To be honest, I'm not sure if your up to running a contest just yet. Maybe you could get a bit more experience by participating in other contests and such before hand. I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to agree. This "contest" doesn't offer any challenge. The one thing that is a real requirement (no red G's) is something we all work towards in all of our coasters. You might want to participate in some other ones to see what works and what doesn't as far as making an NL contest goes.
Eric_Smith Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 I think that 9/10 times, when you do a contest, you can't MAKE someone terraform. Lets face it, some people can and some can't. I don't know how long you took in writing up the rules, but I think that you can't just come on here, and think... lets make a contest. When I do contests, I sometimes take 3-4 days thinking about the rules before I post it. Some of your mistakes are simple ones that could have been fixed with a little thinking. Don't worry, over time, you will get the hang of it!
nln00b Posted July 20, 2009 Author Posted July 20, 2009 Im sorry guys, Im sorry. No good comment yet. hm..........
COASTER FREAK 11 Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 Don't be sad, we're telling how to make a proper contest.
COASTER FREAK 11 Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 You're still missing the point; there is no challenge in your contest. I could make an oval kiddie Flying Dutchman with 2 trains or a massive 10,000ft long mega coaster. Or, anyone who has an old FD coaster they made last year could submit that and it would fit into the contest rules. Also, the coasters that people could create are not able to be compared properly, there are no parameters for them to be judged by. Look at these other contests that have been posted: Conetst 1, Contest 2, Contest 3. Do you see the differences between their contests and yours? You also might want to try participating in a contest first that way you really understand what you need to be asking for it to work and for people to be interested. (The last contest was the "Replace Dorney's Laser" contest, and followed the same basic idea as the other two. Unfortunately, the contest rules were deleted when the winners were announced, but the templet is still there.)
AmyUD06 Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 IIRC, the rules for the Replace Laser contest were: -No inverted or hyper coasters of any type. -Max height of 205 feet. -Track must stay within blue box. -Supports CANNOT enter purple box. -No terraforming allowed I think that was it...
