undercoverunicorn13
I don't know how other trains look for suspended coaster so I don't if this is a thing or not but I would love if there were cushions underneath the seats. I had problems when I was younger riding T2 having my legs hit the bottom of the seat during inversions. I actually had cuts on the back of my legs a couple of times after I got off. Just IMO. I don't know bout cushions (which would be a great idea) but I do know that the main thing the new restraints are meant to do is relieve the head banging. And while I'm at it... am I the only who thinks that they should do at least SOME re-tracking on a ride that's been SBNO for 5 years? It just doesn't seem like the new trains = full safety IMHO. But that might also be because i just broke my scared of big roller coasters thing early 2014 so that might just be coming from the old me. BTW welcome to the board jtd0826. jtd0826
Thanks for welcoming me! Another thing I was curious about was the recent post on Facebook. I think it might just be where they might move the Rio Grande Train over with the rest of the area with the kid rides and to give more room for the 2 new rides. Also, this spot is where Speedway was and I hope they find another spot to put this as because it was a favorite of many kids that I know.
Password121
I'm sure the ride is/will be going through a rehab of sorts... and it will be inspected/tested to ensure it is 100% safe, as all coasters are. If it was a wooden coaster, then sure, re-tracking would be a good bet (ex. Thunder Run last year), but this is a steel coaster than ran safely for over a decade. I don't think sitting SBNO would necessarily damage steel track like that. The new trains should be a great improvement over the usual garbage SLC's are known to be. undercoverunicorn13
I agree, ur right. Also the trains were garbage because they came from the cheap, garbage, roller coaster manufacturer that is Vekoma. Unless of course... they're working with Disney. TheSkysTheLimit
Another picture has been posted to Kentucky Kingdom's Facebook teasing KingdomSeven this time its a little confusing looks like the picture was taken next to where the 2014 waterpark expansion is kinda behind Adventure River because that's the only place in the park where there's a big pile of dirt I maybe wrong tho. I think this might be the grounds work for SkyCatcher. There is dirt over where this is going too.
drummermattk
Maybe they're adding another Water Slide/ Family Water Slide to the water park? For those who cant access Facebook, here's the pic :
jtd0826
I don't even know. I just hope they both aren't kid rides. Edited February 17, 2015 by jtd0826
TheSkysTheLimit
It does look like the hole could possibly be for Sky Catcher but its looks like it's behind Adventure River this is quite the mystery.

Why would SkyCatcher's base be rectangular?

aaron88stang
Couldn't the dirt have just come from the hole in the picture? Why does it have to be next to a pile of dirt that was there last year?

undercoverunicorn13
If it were a part of the waterpark that would make sense. Originally KK was going to add a Kraken Racer. Making it different from HW's and KI's Racers.

Midgetman82
Total assumption: Maybe the square hole is for the mechanics of the ride? Then they'll pour a round concrete floor when they've installed the base? I would love a Kraken racer Aye. Mat racers would be an excellent addition to the water park! jtd0826
If you look up Kraken Racer proslide on google you can see the base of the steps/top of slide and it is rectangular. I am so hoping your theory is correct!

rcdude
A mat racer of some form would be a great addition to Kentucky Kingdom. It felt strange that the waterpark didn't have one, as they are somewhat of a staple of modern waterparks. Given how popular the waterpark is compared to the ride park, I'd be a little surprised if not one of the seven attractions was for it.

They're gonna try to differentiate between the slides at KI and especially HW and try to make theirs different and better. KI has an Octopus Racer, HW has a Pro Racer, so it only makes since for KK to have a Kraken Racer (or a new form?)
