So for my next NL coaster to release, I went with a GCI woodie. For the most part it's pretty good. Very twisty with airtime thrown in here and there. A nice station fly-through is included halfway through the layout, but I don't have an actual station house to enclose it - I have no idea how to make a station with a roof (is there any way to add the wooden catwalk elements outside from the track itself? I can't find a way to add them wherever I want them...). The supports were auto-generated, because I didn't feel like spending years adding them by hand. The first drop is a little pumpy, but aside from that I don't think it's awful.

The picture's are broken. Fix them so people get an idea of what they're about to ride.

Or click on the link that has like 30 pictures of the coaster. That NoLimitsDevCenter website is a great tool so you dont have to clog other websites with a million photos. Just click the project and wham, tons of pics.

Odd, now they're broken for me... I'll just remove them and figure it out tomorrow. I'm too tired right now - it's 4:15 AM and I need sleep. For now, just check out the pics at my Dev Center page.

Do I really need to say what I really need to say?

I am personally glad the link is broken...just makes the point clearer to POST PICTURES HERE!

^Dude. What the hell do you have against using the NLDC?

And also, he had them up here originally, in addition to the NLDC link, but they didn't work so he took them down.

^^I understand that the admins and mods fully support and recommend uploading pictures to TPR servers, but I don't understand why it's absolutely necessary to do so. NLDC is a known and well-organized site, it doesn't seem much different than posting links to RCDB pages. I look at it as the builders doing us a favor of letting us see their ride, not us doing them a favor by riding it.

Anyway, about the coaster, I'll try to give feedback as best I can.

I liked the design for the most part, it seemed like a pretty good mix of GCI elements. I especially liked the exit of the first turnaround/entry of the first (not counting the pre-lift), it was very well shaped, and the Gs seemed in check.

As you said, the first drop was sort of imperfect, and I got red Gs riding in the back at the bottom of the first drop, which seemed a little bit too banked. The pre-lift seemed off, both turns seemed a little tight and overbanked (this might just be me though). The only other notable pump I saw was in the first turn over the water, it seemed to tighten up abruptly near the exit.

Overall, it's definitely good, and some parts of it were, to me, just excellent. Thanks!

First of all...I dont reply to minors who swear...

Second of all I never said I had anything to against nldc. Its just out of respect. If I created a site and all people did was post links to go here and there I would not be happy after I created a site to handle uploads.

Yea, if Im already linking to it on this site, Im already choosing this site to display my content. Id rather not have to dl a bunch of mid-large size pics. At least in NLDC its thumbnailed so I can view what I want in whatever order. If there was a way to do that in here, Id be all for it. But its a bandwidth issue. Im only on 2mb and here, thats like dial up. I actually have to let videos load, I cant stream! Netflix streaming is all it can handle and it does that at the lowest quality possible.

So really its a bandwidth thing. I love high quality and larger pics, but I dont want to inundated with them. And only having 1 or 2 pics is lame. I cant see much from that. But 10-20, absolutely.

Embracing a sister site like NLDC is nothing but a good idea.

And to be quite honest, it would be a reason for me to pull all my stuff. Or, I can upload every single picture and destroy everyones experience with 20 or so 800x600 pics plus video. Nothing I hate more than waiting for pictures I could sift through in a cleaner format. This isnt a Trip report were talking about.

I would rather upload to NLDC. Nothing against the TPR server, but i would rather put all of my collections of pictures on rides in one easy to acces page, rather than spreading it throughout multiple pages.

It's a rule, people. Both Matt AND Robb have been kind enough to post lists of rules to follow to keep this forum organized and worth-while, and when people don't follow them, it is just disrespectful.

I'm glad that we have Jarmor here to scold every poster who doesn't post what is required...sure, he may seem like a pain in the a$$ sometimes, but this forum needs that!

I don't think you all understand. We are not asking you to post every one of your pictures here...we just request that you post a photo or two, just so we can decide whether or not we are interested before clicking on an extra link or download that would just turn out being a waste of time.

Now, in this case, I understand. DiSab tried to post pictures, and they just wouldn't work...I witnessed that, and I commend him for making an effort. But recently, many members have not even TRIED to follow the rules. They post what they feel like posting, and move on. That should not happen.

Here are the exact quotes from the Game Forum Upload Guidelines/Etiquette:

3.) Do NOT start a thread for a park if you only have one screenshot, or just a Photoshoped logo. We want quality posts and threads. Get your park, or track, started and moving along before you need to make an announcement.

http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=47124

4. Please upload a screenshot with your track or park file so other users will know what it looks like.

http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=143

I really just don't understand why this is so difficult...

Without hijacking this thread...

I read the TOS. I can understand posting A picture when you upload a finished ride. Thats how every other site does it.

But when youre showing progress, that can be 10, 20 or even 30 pictures long. Im sorry but posting all those here in a forum upload format is both silly and unpractical. First it looks tacky imo. Second, it tears up bandwidth - not for Robb, for me! Again, why should I load (and upload!) 20 or 30 photos to a page at a res of only 600width when I can load them to a page where full format is 800width AND itll show me thumbnails before I click presented in a neat format.

So basically can I post a link to CONSTRUCTION pictures and then when I upload officially upload a final picture? Thats kinda how virtually every other site on the planet does it...

Dayum, had I known this would happen, I would've fixed it last night before I went to sleep.

Anyway, pics are fixed, so they're back up on the first post. Sorry it took so long, life got in the way. Trying to graduate college is a pain in the ass.

Ok I just had to quote that. Jarmor, if you don't reply to minors who swear, why did you just reply to him? You must think he swore, or you would not have made the comment. In any case, it makes no sense because you replied after saying you wouldn't!

Ok, back to the topic! Your coaster was good! It had some problems here and there, and the banking was a little strange sometimes. All in all though, it was a cool ride. Keep it up!

What's wrong with posting progress shots? I'm too lazy to click links unless you post some pics to go with them. How is posting construction of an NL or RCT coaster/theme park "tacky" when people post construction pics of real coasters all the time and nobody complains about it? Just post a few construction shots and then post the link to TPR or you could post your pictures from NLDC and wrap the links in the IMG tags.

Ill just wait till Ive got 10 or so and see how ridiculous it looks for a single post to have virtually a trip reports worth of progress pics. Does your browser have tabs? open in new tab...neat and clean. no fuss, clutter or mess.

And if youve already seen one or 2 to start with, Im curious why you wouldnt want to click the link to see the progress. Im not begging people to look at my rides, thats for sure. If ya dont want to click a link to browse photos, thats alright.

after reading it I realize I left out "usually". Glad I can give you an chance to feel like a big man and call me out or something . Who are you campbell brown or someone?

I have some other choice words but I will keep it civil and keep moving...

As far as the coaster...this is just my opinion...

I would go back and redo it. The steel beams intertwinned in the support structure are, kinda unattractive. the transport wheels are not really a wooden thing. Im the first to say the person can make the coaster how they want but some things should reamain true to well, the design. It was kinda jerky int he front seat also...one more thing. while I advocate the wood generator I think it looks HORRIBLE for wide supports! Not real looking at all...

Just work on those things and im sure it will be a good coaster

Dude, you're not getting it...

When you post a construction picture or two, it helps people decide if they are interested in seeing more of the ride or not. If they are interested, they click on the link, and if not, they DON'T WASTE THEIR TIME and just exit the topic.

It's in the rules, and it saves time.

ha, come on...I think Im old enough to get it. Doesnt mean I have to agree though.

So you post duplicates so that people can go "hmm...do I look at more or not...?" Hows that different than clicking a link with thumbnails? I can tell from the thumbnail if I want to see it or not and itll take up a fraction the time to load!

Instead of fighting this fight like you are, maybe if you took a minute to understand what I am trying to say this conversation could actually be constructive! I think Ive said the same thing 3 or 40 times, yet everyone else seems to at least acknowledge my point and youre just being the TOS Czar.

Ordinarily, I would agree that at least several shots should be put up on TPR since it is the site's policy. You can link to other sites as long as there is at least SOME shots here.

In this case, however, he TRIED to have screenshots and the pictures weren't working so he took them down temporarily. I don't see why we are jumping down his throat for not doing something he actually tried to do!

As for the coaster, I'm not a fan of the supports. It seems like the track is just sitting on piles of wood. I really don't know how to put it into words, but the best I can do is to say that there is no real "pattern". The supports on each element look completely different from one another.
