Twister II Posted July 27, 2005 Posted July 27, 2005 When we where in Orlando, we decided to go on a Hot Airballoon trip. This trip was suppose to fly right over Walt Disney World, but how ever, sence Disney is ruller of the universe and all they have there 3000ft barrier. And if you come into that barrier you will be shot down with missles and your balloon popped on the pokey castle roof as punishment. So now with the report: Getting up at 5:30 isnt really fun when it is really 3:30 your time. We got up and got picked up in the front of Riverside Port Orleans hotel. On our way we watched a very bad video on hot air ballooning. I decided to pay absolutly no attention to the video and catch some more sleep. As we got there, they took out all the supplys from there trailers, burners, baskets, balloons, fans, etc. To our supprise we wernt the only ones ballooning today, there were about 5 other balloons. They laid out the giagantic fabric of the balloon and turned on the fans to blow it up! When it is full enough, you can walk inside of it and look around. Then you have to get out and they fill the rest up with hot air, so now it looks kinda like an adult play toy. Next, hop in the basket, and flames roar as you bounce along the ground for a while before finally taking off. On this trip, we went over some swamps, golf courses, and neiborhoods that have all the same houses  After about 1hr time to land. Landing sucks, when you hit the ground, you hit hard, and everyone falls on top of you. Not to comfortable. But now the real downer. Folding up the balloon. We actually landed in a school yard, and millions of lil kids came running out. I sware we were at least gona take 10 out. But yeah, that about it, and after we finished we went to MGM. Our landing spot left quite an indent in the ground Yeah, yeah, pretty shot, blah blah This is one of those neigborhoods where every house is exactly the same except the pools We got really close to the ground. But we only hit one tree. Walt Disney World! Over more swamps that never seemed to end I like this picture, this is the reflection of the balloon on the icky water below Swamps, we even saw a boar! Some other balloons going up from inside the balloon
SharkTums Posted July 27, 2005 Posted July 27, 2005 Nice TR! I have never had any desire to go in one of those hot air balloons. I think I've seen too many of them crash or break off on Real TV!
Hicko Posted July 27, 2005 Posted July 27, 2005 OMG the second to last picture looks like you narrowly missed a pylon or something
Hattuchili Posted July 27, 2005 Posted July 27, 2005 That is awesome. Great pictures. I never ride a Hot Airballoon, but it looks like fun! Maybe sometimes I will go on one! --Sören
ebl Posted July 27, 2005 Posted July 27, 2005 This is something I want to do someday. I like being up high, and it would be nice to be up there and just float along, unlike a plane. Eric
Twister II Posted July 28, 2005 Author Posted July 28, 2005 I was actually having second thoughts before I actually bought tickets. I was really scared, but I did it anyways. And now that I've done it, Im glad, it was amazing! I would definitly do it again!
disneygurlz2s Posted July 28, 2005 Posted July 28, 2005 I have never had any desire to go in one of those hot air balloons. I think I've seen too many of them crash or break off on Real TV! My sister wouldn't ride a coaster if her life depended on it...think the biggest one she ever rode was the Beastie, and yet she has been up 3 or 4 times in the past 15 years. She absolutely loves it! CoasterEricHP Posted July 28, 2005 Posted July 28, 2005 Nice TR! I have never had any desire to go in one of those hot air balloons. I think I've seen too many of them crash or break off on Real TV! LOL.. Isnt it awful how Rescue 911 and RealTV scared the crap out of us??
Kroger8 Posted July 28, 2005 Posted July 28, 2005 Great TR, It looks like a lot of fun. OMG Rescue 911, was like my favorite show, we always used to watch it during dinner, I remember the episode of the girl who got her hand caught in the washing machine, the one who got shot in the playhouse, and the one who sat her baby in scalding hot water and made its skin fall off or something. What a great show lol.
Twister II Posted July 28, 2005 Author Posted July 28, 2005 ^That show sounds, ummm......very....um....plesent sickos
Twister II Posted July 28, 2005 Author Posted July 28, 2005 Also, if anyone is in the Orlando area, and wants to try it out, here is their link! http://www.bobsballoons.com/ Seriously, check these guys out. Even after you touch down you get a FREE MEAL! With champaine (sp) and orange juice!
dandaman Posted July 30, 2005 Posted July 30, 2005 The schoolyard landing sounds a lot like my only hot air balloon experience a few years ago... Only, we landed on the school's roof, and it was summertime, so no annoying kids. Edit: Twister II, we got the champagne/O.J. party after, too!
