the ghost Posted March 22, 2009 Posted March 22, 2009 Today I went to wild rivers for a reemployment/returning employees luncheon. It was pretty cool, because there was a meeting with Wild Rivers President of Wild Rivers, Mike Riedel, who announced their would be a new pirate themed children's attraction. It will be a new interactive children's play area featuring water cannons, kid sized water slides, and a giant 20 foot tall parrot holding an umbrella themed "mushroom." (see picture below) This summer if you are ever in the area, or want to meet up, pm me and I can meet you at the park, or I will be working. Thanks for reading! Anyway, on to the pictures! These were all taken from a camera phone. Our lunch looked terrible, but was surprisingly not bad at all. Slides covered in ceran wrap, waiting for opening in 2 months. I actually really like how this turned out! pepsi ans rejoice! The patriot water slides crazy ending Here is the very old Congo River Rapids water slide. It lives in a giant blue mountain. The slide is getting repainted, but I doubt the GP(you guys) is supposed to see this. No one said anything while I was taking pictures. We were not allowed to go near the slides. So these are taken using the zoom feature on my camera [hone. The staff Kidtums water slide credit. HAHA! Damn it, just because we're all extinct doesn't mean you have to carve a slide into our backs! Here is a picture from the outside of the park.
atem122 Posted March 22, 2009 Posted March 22, 2009 Nice secret pictures, I cant believe they have water in the pools already
the ghost Posted March 22, 2009 Author Posted March 22, 2009 LOL, I think they leave the water into the pools and then drain them right before opening. Or, they don;t drain them at all, last year there were a bunch of leaves and brown stuff in the water a few weeks before opening. They clean up pretty well, though.
CreditCrazy Posted March 25, 2009 Posted March 25, 2009 I'm glad this place is staying. I was trying to go here last year, but now that it's staying, why rush? Do you think it's worth going to?
netdvn Posted March 25, 2009 Posted March 25, 2009 Pics 3 and 4 are REALLY small, I can't tell what they're supposed to be aside from the comments. Either way, excellent shots. Its really cool seeing parks like these in the off season.
kidcoaster 2 Posted March 26, 2009 Posted March 26, 2009 Did the park announce the Pirate Area to the public? Because I know from my experience if the park iss getting something new or most other things they would not want it posted on sites like TPR until tha park makes it public. Great Shots though!
socalMAN123 Posted March 26, 2009 Posted March 26, 2009 Were these pictures taken in 1987???????? Most of Wild Rivers is still stuck in 1987 ---Brent

I thought that pools have to have water in them to keep them from cracking....could be wrong though.

Not officially, but Wild Rivers is not really a park that makes big announcements. On the year Bazooka Bowls was built I went into the park and was like WTF is that thing. If you go on the site it says new attraction, but that's all it says. Also, my phone sucks.
