Chris Benvenuto Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 Well I'm sad to see Calamity gone...Is there a chance that you'll sell off small parts of it, or maybe a tribute to it? I do hope she is being replaced by more lovely Arrow goodness. Id much rather see his time spent working on themeing and making the park better than waist time filming and editing a video for a small little ride. Criticism or not, that was harsh. Dude, it's his park, he'll take it as advice but regardless that didn't have tact at all. If the ride meant a milestone for the park, it's suffice to have a tribute. IMO.
coasterdude5 Posted December 18, 2009 Author Posted December 18, 2009 ^ The tribute was sorta combined with that park medley video.

Mastersax68 Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 Well, it is the parks largest capital investment, soooooo.... it could be a whole new area, right?
triggernel Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 Santa Claus flying in on his sleigh pulled by the reindeer, with a piece of Intamin track in his bag to make an announcement.
coasterdude5 Posted December 23, 2009 Author Posted December 23, 2009 (edited) 1984 10th Season It's the eve of Christmas Eve! We are getting close to Christmas day! The announcement is closer than ever! - Joseph Reynolds Edited January 31, 2015 by coasterdude5
FallingStar Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 Well done on this park, better than I could ever do Why did you have to remove Carolina Calamity though
triggernel Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 I love the Christmas overlay, very good for that early. Can't imagine what it would look like nowadays, with 25 years of experience in a Christmas event.
CorkscrewFoley Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 Whoever said aquatrax car, you're waaaaaay too far off. I still see an Arrow multi-looper in the midst.
themeparkologist Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 Christmas can come early...even by like 25 years!!!!
coasterdude5 Posted December 24, 2009 Author Posted December 24, 2009 (edited) 1984 10th Season Merry Christmas Eve! Tomorrow is the big day! coasterdude5 Posted December 25, 2009 Author Posted December 25, 2009 (edited) 1985 / 11TH SEASON ANNOUNCEMENT Merry Christmas! It is my pleasure to unveil Charleston Gardens Amusement Park's 1985 addition: Gardenhill Pass. - Joseph Reynolds At the cost of $21 million, Gardenhill Pass is not only the costliest expansion in our history but also the largest in size. The park's size will increase by nearly a quarter when Gardenhill Pass opens in the spring of 1985. Gardenhill Pass represents a new direction we are taking with Charleston Gardens Amusement Park. We are now shifting our focus to emphasizing the beauty of the South Carolina landscape through crafted gardens and landscaping. Gardenhill Pass will be a relaxing area of the park with an outdoor theater, midway games, swan boats, and an outdoor cafe. The Green Pearl Theater will be the focal point of Gardenhill Pass. With seating for 600, the Green Pearl Theater will be the prime location for concert series and other premier entertainment. Hand-crafted swan boats will grace Swan Lake and will be a perfect attraction for families. We look forward to seeing you next spring to experience Gardenhill Pass for yourself! DBru Posted December 25, 2009 Posted December 25, 2009 A park spending $21 on gardens and landscaping? You can definitely tell this isn't the 21st century.
Mastersax68 Posted December 25, 2009 Posted December 25, 2009 ^ Ha ha, yeah. The area looks like it will be amazing!
triggernel Posted December 26, 2009 Posted December 26, 2009 It will be interesting to see what direction he takes the park in. Will it turn out more like Gilroy Gardens, or just another regional amusement park? Looking forward to the Future, and thanks for the Christmas gift!
coasterdude5 Posted December 26, 2009 Author Posted December 26, 2009 (edited) 1985 11th Season Welcome to the the opening day of our eleventh season! Time sure does fly, it's hard to believe we've been open for this many years! Today is also the day Gardenhill Pass makes its debut - so far the guests seem to be loving the tranquil new area of the park. Let's take a look! - Joseph Reynolds The entrance to Gardenhill Pass is somewhat secluded from the rest of the park. As you can see from this aeriel, the area itself is set back in the trees. If you follow the path you'll come across the center of Gardenhill Pass. In the center you'll find the Plaza Cafe, an outdoor cafe serving healthy options such as soups and salads. Across from the cafe you'll find the focal point of Gardenhill Pass, the Green Pearl Theater. The Green Pearl Theater seats 600 and will become the home of a concert series featuring local acts this summer. Not far from the Green Pearl Theater, you'll come across Swan Lake where there are hand-crafted swan boats for your boating pleasure. Looks like alot of fun to me! German Bros. Games features classical midway games in a different setting. The other end of Gardenhill Pass connects to Harbortown, making the upper-loop of Charleston Gardens Amusement Park complete. triggernel Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 I really like the Swan Boat station right under the bridge. Looks great!
coasterdude5 Posted December 28, 2009 Author Posted December 28, 2009 (edited) 1985 11th Season Reception to Gardenhill Pass has been mixed. We know our guests love thrill rides and this addition does not mark the end of thrill rides at Charleston Gardens Amusement Park. We are still an amusement park and we realize that guests come here for a good time and great rides. Gardenhill Pass marks our commitment to offering our guests a wide variety of attractions. We are sure guests will see this in the coming years. - Joseph Reynolds Here is an overview of Gardenhill Pass, you can see there is a good bit of land for new attractions. Let's not forget about the other areas Charleston Gardens Amusement Park has to offer! Here you can see the different architectural stylings that can be found throughout Charleston Gardens Amusement Park. The covered bridge offers some relief from the hot sun above. I'll leave you with this view of Derecho's first drop from Gardenhill Pass. Have a great day! Edited February 4, 2015 by coasterdude5
themeparkologist Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 Could we get an overview of the park to see possible areas of expansion?
Mastersax68 Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 ^ I don't think he'll post something that big just yet... but I don't know. It looks great btw!
