Mechanic Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 Well, it's not exactly as crazy as you might think. I'd hazard a guess that probably at least 99% of the population of "modern" countries have experienced the effects of devices similar to the one pictured.
onewheeled999 Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 An air conditioner of some sort would be the most obvious guess for me.
chmilo24 Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 It looks like it has solar panels on the side? My guess is a solar powered flux capacitor so no matter what time period you go to, as long as there is sun you can get home safely  --Chris
TheStig Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 Hmmmm, air conditioner, air cleaning device, maybe a dehumidifier?
Mechanic Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 It is a specific component of an air conditioner. This should be pretty easy from this point.
netdvn Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 Is it a dildo? Â Or a knife? Â Something that belongs on sports equipment?
Troll Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 Is it a quick-release mechanism for a crane cable - pull the brass bit and then the loop on the right releases
TheStig Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 ^Close, but not close enough. Not used for crane. Â EDIT: Actually I'll give it to you. It's a tow line release mechanism for a tow plane. It mounts to the tow plane so in the event of a emergency it can release the glider (such as when the glider is unable to release).
Troll Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 Here's mine - Good luck everyone!!  If it helps, the object is plastic  Sorry about the pic - its a gif file so the dont have a backround
paintballer Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 It looks like some type of 3d made object. Ribbon maybe?
davethefish Posted May 7, 2009 Author Posted May 7, 2009 It goes on the wheel nuts of cars and busses. The knurled insides fit around the nut and help it stay on
Troll Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 ^ I thought it would be a Brit that got it - I dont think they have them in the States. Â Well done - your turn now
davethefish Posted May 7, 2009 Author Posted May 7, 2009 I have some on my van at work  Ok, WTF is it! It's a THING!
davethefish Posted May 8, 2009 Author Posted May 8, 2009 It is a Key, and it is a very cool key. What is it a key to?
