So when Mo Williams guaranteed the Cavs to win this series, was he aware they had to do so from a 3-1 deficit?

It's all part of David Stern's plan: Cavs win next three games, Lebron cements himself as the greatest human to ever play basketball, NBA has their Jordan (aka marketing whore) for the next decade.

That was just hard to watch. I really have no attachment to either team, but I find myself pulling for Cleveland at this point. Seeing the favorite become the underdog makes the series that much more interesting. A 3-1 hole is tough to dig out of, but it's been done before and could be again. Cleveland's bench better find some way to get a fire lit under their butts.

^^I was thinking that. If the Cavs some how take their game to the "next level" and win three straight, you'd have a really hard time convincing skeptics (i.e. me) that championship teams aren't determined in the pre-season. I mean, Nike doesn't want to make liars out of those puppets, do they?

And David Stern wonders why people keep bringing up conspiracy theories.

They'd even serve the Magic pancakes afterward. And you know Van Gundy's not gonna turn that down.

Seriously though, this series should be tied, at least. There's absolutely no excuse for any team to blow a 20+ point lead in either of the last two series of the playoffs. *If* the Cavs end up losing, I'm interested to see what kind of retooling they'll do in the offseason. If they don't address the need for a lockdown guard or two, Bron Bron will definitely then have one step out the door and headed towards MSG.

Predictions for the next few games:

- Lebron scores between 50 and 250 points.

- Dwight Howard fouls out during pre-game warm ups.

- During offensive possesions, the other four Cavs on the floor will be allowed to sit on the half court line and play a rousing game of Go Fish.

- Hedo is assessed a Flagrant 2 Foul for his face.

- Stan Van Gundy is replaced by Ron Jeremy.

Nike doesn't want to pay for new puppets. Those things were like $30 million each!

^Well with as much money that the NBA and other repsective firms are making from the "KeBron" phenomenon, it's going to make a lot of people look stupid if they both fail, so I look for really questionable officiating in both series. That, or Adiddas will start running clips of Dwight Howard dunking over cardboard cutouts of Melo, Lebron, Kobe, Buddah, and Elvis.

Good to see the refs continue to be atrocious. I know it's been going both ways, but those last 2 fouls on Nene were a joke. And how many times does Carmelo have to get smacked before something is called?

All this crappy officiating is making me not want to watch the finals at all, no matter what 2 teams are involved.

Amen. That's why hockey> basketball. Generally speaking, the refs in hockey are pretty darn good about letting the players play, especially deep into any playoff game.

And overtime playoff hockey? Forget about it. You basically have to commit something just shy of murder to get them to blow the whistle. And that's the way it should be.

The NBA should require their players to carry purses, if that's the image they want to keep showing off with their stupid flagrant and technical foul system. I'm losing more and more respect for the league with each game watched. And that's sad, because I think they had finally gained back many of the viewers from the 80's and early to mid 90's who had abandoned them when the quality fell off.

I guess things really do happen in cycles.

I honestly think Denver is gonna win in seven at this point. I'm just not seeing the fire from the Lakers. I'd like to be wrong but it's just my gut feeling.

And I've never been happier to be wrong. They really found their spark over the last two games. They just need to keep it up during the Finals.

It was really good to see the Lakers play the way we all know they can. Now I just hope Cleveland can pull this thing out of the dumpster so we can have the matchup of the league's 2 premier stars. (That, and Orlando worries me more than Cleveland does.)

So very true... If (actually when;) ) we play the Magic in the finals I really think the series will go 6 or 7 games. I know that the Magic won the season series versus the Lakers and I know how good they can play against us.

One BIG fear of mine is that the Lakers might get lured into a 3-point contest versus the Magic in games and loose focus on playing sound basketball... I really hope that doesn't happen!
