coasterdude5 Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 That's right! I've been to repeat parks for the past two seasons so I was very happy to be going to a new park for a change. I was scared for a while that 2008 would be the year of no coasters but my parents surprised me with this late birthday trip. The crowds were great, the longest I waited was maybe 30 minutes for Mr. Freeze. Here's a breakdown of the rides: Evel Knievel Great ride! I was very impressed with the first drop. However, it did not surpass Thunderhead. There's something about Thunderhead that Evel Knievel didn't have. Don't get me wrong though, it was a very powerful, smooth GCI. It was a great addition for the park. It was maybe a 5-10 minute wait. Boss I rode it early in the morning and it was incredible. It easily knocked Thunderhead off my number one wooden coaster. The double-down, the second big drop, I was wondering when it was going to stop being awesome! However, the ride murdered my head when I rode it later in the day. It was insane how different the ride was 5 hours later (and I was sitting in the same car). It was a walk on. Screamin' Eagle Nice classic wooden coaster. I wasn't blown away, but I was surprised to see where they stopped the new paint job. It was very tame compared to Boss which I had just stepped off. It was also walk on. Mr. Freeze This ride's launch was insane. However, it was a bit too intense for me (partly because I've got a sinus infection). It left me with a pretty good headache for a while. But the launch and the tower were both great. The wait was about 30 minutes because they were only running one train. Ninja This ride (until the vertical loop ended) was like a trip on Revolution at Libertyland, so it was great to be on an Arrow (yeah, I know about Vekoma) again. It was surprisingly smooth compared to some other Arrows I've been on. Maybe thanks to Vekoma? It was a walk on. Batman After an e-stop kept a train at the top of the lift for a while, the ride finally reopened and I got my ride on it. It was just as good as the one at Great America. The second half still blows me away. It was about a 10-15 minute wait. River King Mine Ride I've rode the other half at Magic Springs so I was looking forward to riding this half of it! It was a standard mine train, nothing to spectacular. Nevertheless, it was a credit! I only had 5 hours at the park, so I didn't get to ride Superman because they were only operating 2 of the 6 cars... Overall, I was very impressed with the park. The staff was about 50-50. Half of them were very happy to be there and were very helpful. The other half looked like they were dead. Didn't really affect my experience, though, so I can't say too much. The park was very clean except for some vomit that I saw... Onto the pictures! Getting closer! Ok, we get it! You make signs! I see Ninja! Very beautiful coaster... "Dey bout to get soaked!" Maybe next time... Why Six Flags... Why? These are the only rides left that actually scare me! Gotta go to the bathroom, BRB. Six Flags has become very Asian-friendly lately in reponse to the problems with the new mascot. I'd probably be dead by this part of the ride. (I hate spinning). It's like one of those obesity news reports on NBC Nightly News. Mr. Freeze... from the other side. Yeah, I made it blurry on purpose. That's what I would have seen if I actually rode the ride. Doesn't somebody like statues on TPR? There is not enough money... Thunder River surrounds Mr. Freeze. According to Timothy McNuttball in front of me in line, the river is made of water that has melted off of Mr. Freeze. I'm glad they didn't paint there's red. IT MAKES NO SENSE. Who wants ice cream? This park has two very large circular plazas. I like circular plazas. I bet they look like giant boobs from the air. From this angle, I could be in Dollywood for all I know! Aw, it's just a GCI Aquatrax? Ah, what do we have here? Sundries, lol. Six Flags wants you to know that you DO have friends. This was about as crowded as it got.
coasterdude5 Posted September 1, 2008 Author Posted September 1, 2008 More pictures: I feel like I'm in jail... boob! Two great rides. One picture. There's Mr. Freeze and Boss! It goes fast! Whoosh! So this is where they got that shot from! Lots of Batman shots coming up. You might want to find something else to do if they will bore you. Remember, Asian-Friendly! WALKED ON. Not as good as Dollywood's, but still cool. MAKE IT STOP! PLEASE!!! I'LL PAY MORE FOR MY ICEE! I'LL BUY A SEASON PASS! I'LL BUY 24! Zero-G They've got a big 'ole ferris wheel. This is where b*tchy 14-year-old girls go to complain about stuff. Almost got it. The day is saved! It would've been nice with a train. Everybody and their mom was going up the stairs to comfort the stranded riders. Look I'm on the ground. HAHA They got stuck. What a beauty... And we are here. Nice At first I thought the sign said "Cutpost". Gotta cater to the emo's too! This coaster amazes me, but I'm not sure why.
coasterdude5 Posted September 1, 2008 Author Posted September 1, 2008 Even more... Thanks for reading! Caged in! Ninja looking cool. Alot of advertising is to be seen at this park. Yeah 66! "You should see my night job" Up the spike! (or maybe it's going down, I can't remember) Lots of Papa John's. I really missed riding this... Only hot chicks that scream loudly are allowed on this ride! I like walking under coaster track. I should start a "walkunder" credit list. Big Spin... through the trees! Evel Knievel. I always feel like I'm mis-spelling it. What's that?
Electerik Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 A few blurry photos, but otherwise a nice report of a park that's fairly high on my "to do" list. Thanks for posting it!
kraken613 Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 Awesome TR! It looks like a pretty nice park! Thats the only GCI credit in the US im missing.
doublex98 Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 Nice TR and pictures. Looks like you went on a good day with little crowds.
coasterdude5 Posted September 1, 2008 Author Posted September 1, 2008 ^ Yeah, I lucked out with the crowds. It could have been pretty bad. Sorry about the blurry shots. I couldn't tell they were blurry in the thumbnail size...
kraken613 Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 No problem! Good you had a good trip though! Thats all that matters!
Team Thriller Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 Man, that park has changed. The only credits I have from there is Boss, Screamin' Eagle, and Ninja. I need to go back! Great pictures, funny captions, and neatly put together. Great job! --James
Patchmanw Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 Very cool tr! Soon enough there will be an Eggo: The Ride, with all the advertising they are doing...
coasterdude5 Posted September 1, 2008 Author Posted September 1, 2008 ^ Yeah! I couldn't believe the log flume was just "Log Flume". Was Nestea Ice Mountain Pepsi Splash already taken?
coasterfreak101 Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 Nice TR. SFStL looks like a nice-ish place with some good coasters. They just need to stop getting new ones and send some junk used ones to SFA.

terrancew_hod Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 Nice report. I'm heading to St Louis next week to check on my mom, eat and see what's changed since I was there last year. If the weather is nice, I may go ride the new coaster in the morning before I take Mom to lunch. I'm staying in a hotel instead either of my parents so I can quickly slip out the door and go to the park! Terry
MisterP Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 Man, that park has changed. The only credits I have from there is Boss, Screamin' Eagle, and Ninja. I need to go back! Great pictures, funny captions, and neatly put together. Great job! --James So last time you went, you didn't ride Mr. Freeze, Batman, or the Mine Train?
redfoot12 Posted September 17, 2008 Posted September 17, 2008 Looks like a nice park. I really want to get out to Missouri and do a tour of Six Flags St. Louis, the Branson parks, and Worlds of Fun. The woodies at SFStL look really appealing although I'm sure Screamin' Eagle doesn't run as well as it did 30 years ago.

IMO its as good now that I'm a coaster fan then when I rode it as an inexperienced 10 year old kid...
