Dino_Martini
I want to hear about DLC for the Wii......... Was there any news on Rockband 2? I may wait for that, it looks to be coming out in November...................Yea.................. http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/888/888781p1.html Its coming out for 360 first, incase you didnt already know. They also released the setlist. It looks pretty darn good. I am definitly more of a Guitar Hero guy though. I thought Sony's 'Keynote' was impressive. But I am a PS3 fanboy, my 360 disappointed me (not trying to start something, if you like 360 more that is fine with me )
jjeerr
Maybe I'm just a jaded gamer that's still addicted to TF2, but nothing this year looks that good. The Nintendo stuff will sell amazingly, but none of it excites me. For Sony, woo R&C:Pirates Booty, but other then that, nothing. The 360 mii's look OK, but a little far in the"uncanny valley". Gears 2, like the first game, is in "it's cool but not that cool". Game-wise: No ActiBlizsrd® means no new info on Starcraft 2 or Diablo 3. Mirrors Edge looks interesting, Left 4 Dead is as cool as ever, the Portal mini-expansion pack seems to be a way to give Xbox360 owners a standalone Portal. Was hoping for something about Half-Life: Ep3 and TF2 class updates, and the somewhat-rumored Counter-Strike 2. A true sequel to Counter-Strike, holding to the core idea but bringing the gameplay and visuals into the 21st century might be the greatest game ever, at least until the CS 1.6 fanboys ruin the game. Still hoping for some "core gamer" wii games (MadWorld looks...interesting, Duty 4.5 I'd rather play on PC or PS3), and a good MMOFPS (someone, somewhere, must be making one). Left 4 Dead might just make me get a better computer, or if the game works on the 360 a 360. Note: Have a PS3, Wii, and barely BioShock-capable PC. jjeerr
Conduit Looks like a mediocre post-HL2 shooter. Could it be good? Yes, but I have my doubts. The team, High Voltage Software, know for making nothing that anyone has ever played, could make a masterpiece FPS. Hopefully its the kick ass 3rd party game the wii needs, but I really have no interest of playing another single-player shooter, with "unplayable" to "good" multiplayer. The wii is just a weird market for traditional games. With a huge causal presence, making Carnival Games 69 for $500,000 might sell as well as an amazing Kid Icarus 2 which took $15,000,000 to make. I think that's why we haven't seen any Valve or Epic or id on the wii, there just isn't a market for the "core". Quake, Portal or UT would be really fun on the wiimote, but the audience that wants these games already has a "next-gen" console or a PC. Though with Quake Live and BattleField Heroes around the corner, both of which will run on the wii just fine; maybe the year of wiiFPSs will come, as semi-causal Multiplayer shooters. crispy
I now have all three systems, here is my take on E3, from a 20+ year gamer Wii At this point Nintendo could release a game about taking a dump, and it would sell on the Wii, I am actually excited about Animal Crossing (We bought three DS's, and three copies of the game for that system) so a Wii version is certainly good news They should have announced more, if they had more to announce, but they are so far in the lead, and have such great momentum, I'm not sure it matters, they could have sent a stage hand up there, and said "the wii is doing well, when we release more games, buy them, thanks have a nice night", and they would still steamroll the competition 360 IMO they won, just with the announcement of FF13 coming to the 360, that was the WTF I was looking for, other than that, they had some nice games they announced, and a redesigned dash board, all things that were somewhat expected, but good to see. PS3 they had some good games, none unexpected except for Mag, 256 online multiplayer sounds pretty damn awesome, if they pull it off, we will see. Nice to see God of War, lame to bring the 40GB functionality to the 80GB model (no PS2 compatability), Glad I have the 60GB model, I think if Microsoft did not announce Final Fantasy 13, Sony would have won, by a small amount, I'm just bummed it was hoping it would be Marcus VS Kotos this xmas in summation Wii could sell a steaming pile of crap as an accesory, and everyone would go for it, nice to see animal crossing though 360 stole Final Fantasy, and is easily the console for JRPG's PS3 has a promising looking multiplayer game called Mag, 265 players, lets wait and see if it becomes a 256 player Cluster %$#@, great to see god of war

thomas2
From an interview with Miyamoto: I think that there’s probably one other element to it, and that’s that our view of how we use E3 has changed. For a very long time, E3 was an event where — and certainly Nintendo included — catered specifically to the core gamer. Now we look at more … an opportunity for us to introduce new concepts and new types of play that we intend to bring to the broader audience, particularly because of the media that gathers at E3 now. So while attending an E3 event like this, they might be given the impression that Nintendo is no longer focusing on the games that appeal to the core gamer, in fact we’re still working on many of those titles, but it’s just not the type of event where we’ll be showcasing that anymore. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/25710005/ And the better news: Nintendo announces a new Pikmin! It's not clear wether this will be for the DS or Wii. 7:38 In response to a question about whether or not a new Pikmin is in the works, Miyamoto says he'll announced the new game when he's ready. Apparently he's ready now. "We're making Pikmin," the translator says. OMG MEGATONZ! Huge applause from the audience. http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/16/liveblog-from-nintendos-2008-e3-developer-roundtable/
crispy
I still say it doesn;t matter what Nintendo does or does not announce. I just got Zak and Wiki, and am loving it, but I was at the store yesterday, and was looking over the titles available for the system, and its depressing, its basically a wall of terrible crap, with a smattering of AWESOME nintendo titles here and there, so many lame games trying to capitalize on uniformed Wii owners, thank GOD Nintendo is the BEST first party developer. The Wii is not my platform of choice for gaming, we bought it on a whim, when we saw one at target, I'm certainly not sad we bought it, but I will say there are times it sits and collects dust for extended periods, like last xmas, with the 360's rediculious amount of awesome titles, I'm still not done with those. Animal Crossing will be one of my family's most anticipated titles for the holiday season, The only real dissapointment is that it seems to look exactly like the gamecube version, and I mean EXACTLY!!! TheRapidsNerd
I just played mario kart last night for the first time on the Wii. Between that, Conduit, and Animal Crossing, I'm pretty much sold. Nice!
KrakenKing
Nintendo really Disappointed. Will probably end up getting Animal Crossing... and if/when they release, Pickman, Zelda and the new New Super Mario Bros. Sony didn't. I'm excited for Rock Band 2, Resistance 2, Call of Duty: World at War, Resident Evil 5, and mostly excited for the MMO, DC Universe. They also have some killer looking games for PSN. Fat Princess anyone? I could care less about 360 and it's Halo: Wars (Most over-rated series ever) PC has Spore coming out, which will be excellent. As well as Diablo 3* (HELL YEAH!) and World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King*. Overall, E3 was "Meh" this year... but some of the games look very promising. *I know these games weren't shown at E3.
