Pre-Opening

Here are some more shots from Barracuda's first test run!

The first drop is pretty big.

Down the first drop...

Overview of Barracuda

At this point, the ride is going about 55mph.

Check back soon for more updates.

That could be one of the best coasters you have ever built. Its very graceful. Its compact and also very iconic.

Thank you! I've taken quite a long break from wooden coasters. My last one was the one at Taiga park and that was about a year ago.

An excellent ride! I loved it! A little rough in some places but after all it is a woodie! It had a great speed all the way round and the camera angles you used in the video captured every perfecion of this ride!

5/5!

Speaking out of character here, I'm sure everybody is aware of Hurricane Gustav by now. I have made the decesion that if Gustav damages New Orleans like Katrina did, Orleans Place Boardwalk will not continue or will be put on an extended hiatus. I am hoping for the best, but if the city is in the state it was after Katrina, focusing on building an entertainment center would not be a respectable thing to be doing.

Again, I am hoping for the best. I just want everybody to know what to expect with this park. If it doesn't continue, I want to thank everybody for all of the kind compliments that they gave me. I really felt like I took a step up with this park.

Update

Pre-Opening

Well, I'm about to head up north to my father-in-law's to weather out the storm. No telling what's going to happen to this place... Construction has, of course, been put on hold.

The park's Boardwalk Inn is nearing completion. It looks very nice at night.

I bet this area will provide some great views!

The other side of the hotel is just as impressive.

Very bright! They told me it shouldn't be this bright when the park opens.

I still have some more shots leftover from the other night that I'll post later.

God Bless New Orleans.
