RctInfinity Posted June 15, 2005 Posted June 15, 2005 Hey, everyone! I want your opinion: if you had to choose between a Vekoma, Arrow, or SLC, what would it be?
Sir Clinksalot Posted June 15, 2005 Posted June 15, 2005 None of the above ... I guess though I would probably have to go with ... arrow. At least their Mine Trains are cool, for the most part. Gregg "Moving to Theme Parks, Roller Coasters and Donkeys forum" C.
CoasterFanatic Posted June 15, 2005 Posted June 15, 2005 Shouldn't the question be Vekoma or Arrow? I mean, Vekoma makes the SLC. I would probably pick Arrow (forgiving them for X).
ECZenith Posted June 15, 2005 Posted June 15, 2005 I'd have to say Vekoma. I can even stand an SLC or two, just no Boomerangs. The Booster Bike, Rock N Roller Coaster, and Deja Vu are alot of fun (WHEN IT'S RUNNING!!!!)
Reality15 Posted June 15, 2005 Posted June 15, 2005 I'd have to chose an SLC. Arrow restraints are too small on me, and I haven't heard anything good about most Vekoma coasters. At least Thunderhawk at Geauga Lake (an SLC) is rideable for me. Jon "I found a smooth SLC" R.
Canadmos Posted June 15, 2005 Posted June 15, 2005 If Vekoma would re-engineer the SLC it would be a great ride. That choice would be a tie in my mind. Arrow was starting to head in a good direction right before their demise (X, Tennessee Tornado...) and now Vekoma is heading in a good direction with Expedition Everest and the Motorbike coasters.

bgwfreak Posted June 15, 2005 Posted June 15, 2005 It depends on what type of coaster we're talking about. The Vekomas flying coasters are actually pretty smooth, whereas the Vekoma SLC's make you pray for the ride to be over. Overall I'd say Arrow, but Vekoma does make a few (flyers) that are better.
ECZenith Posted June 16, 2005 Posted June 16, 2005 I like the Vekoma flying coasters better than B&M's SUF but I've yet to ride AIR. If B&M built a flying coaster with a pretzel loop and a more interesting layout, I'd be sold.
benzo41190 Posted June 16, 2005 Posted June 16, 2005 I would have to say Vekoma. Arrows restraints are to small and they hurt when Vekomas are a little bit more padded. I am still waiting for a portable Flying Coaster....maybe in 2007
alpengeistdude321 Posted June 17, 2005 Posted June 17, 2005 I would say Arrow. The limited leg room bothers me a lot but they have classic coasters like Loch Ness Monster, Shockwave (now closed), and X. Their muilti-loopers are exceptionally fun and Demon (SFGAm) is classic also.
ECZenith Posted June 17, 2005 Posted June 17, 2005 Benzo, Is the Zamperla Volare available in a portable model? when I rode it at Canada's Wonderland, I thought it belonged more at a fair.
benzo41190 Posted June 17, 2005 Posted June 17, 2005 I think a ride similar to it IS traveling around Germany. I think it is called a gliding coaster but its not the flying version. http://wipeout.free.fr/index2.html I looked on here but couldnt find it. I was thinking of the Vekoma flying coaster...not those painful Volares.
