New wood coaster for great adventure 2006

Rumor has it that great adventure is getting a new coaster for the 2006 season. this is in rumors cause i don't think it is true. i would like to see them get a new wood coaster it would be nice.

I guess we'll find out in August, when the shipping containers full of track are supposed to show up. I assume that some kind of site prep work would perhaps begin before that as well?

I think it's true. They sure seemed to be in a rush to tear down Viper and with all the markings on trees, I think a new coaster is coming

If this is true, I'll be sure to get out to NJ next year (even if I don't like that park).

I believe it, I think Six Flags is shifting all their focus to that park now. The park, IMO, needs a large woodie because isn't Rolling Thunder a little on the mild side? But that might just be me.

Yeah it's somewhat mild. I haven't been on it since all the work has been done on it recently but last time I went on Rolling Thunder, it was a little rough.

Think of the money, it was probley around $25million to do Kingda Ka, plus millions in repairs. I dont think it will be anything big.

More then likely they will be getting it cause all together all the six flags parks make over 100 million dollars. and if you look the company has been getting new water slides for there water parks to so more then likely they are getting it, and hopefully it will be good.

They did it with the Starliner, but they ended up being right anyway.

They've just marked a bunch of trees in Rolling Thunder's infield for removal, and Vipers site is now cleared, so layout and digging for footers should be starting very soon!

I think its true because they need a good wooden coaster. I'm suprised at SFGAd because if it was at SFMM, they'd break the record and get a woodie that isn't crap!

i think it is nice cause most of the time rolling thunder has only one train running and it is pretty boring. i think that is nice of them to get a new wood coaster. maybe with a new wood coaster they could finally remove rt and or sell it. so they can get more looping coasters. and more enjoyable rides.

In order to answer this, u have to think of the six flags corporation in general. why would the six flags corporation build the tallest and fastest coaster in the world at one park, and then the next year built YET ANOTHER world class roller coaster at the SAME PARK. there are lots of other parks that are next in the lineup for a new coaster and this park is not the one anyone has in mind.

Yes, but they only have one park that has more than 30 million people who live within two hours of it. SFGAdv has always been one of (if not the most) profitable park in the chain, and even though they have made investments, they have never really brought it to its full potential. That's why they are expanding it again in 2006, and adding a hotel in 2007.
